What makes you happy?

The sun is bright in the meadow, it warms my body as I stretch out in a bed of dandelions. They smelled so good this morning. Yoongi wasn't awake just yet. It's just me right now. My legs are sore from the last few days. We had been running so much and glitching.

Yoongi was getting better each day. That made me so happy. The way he would smile with his gummy smile once he changed into the handsome boy with black hair that fell in his eyes. His shoulders wiggling as he danced around for a minute before he shifted back into his fox form. It was amazing, Joonie would be so proud.

"Good morning." He greeted me with a sleepy deep voice.

"Morning." I smiled.

He came over plopping down beside me.

"Can I ask you something?" He started, his dark eyes fixed on mine. I stared into those dark brown pools with a ray of honey in them. I liked to think that that was his happiness showing through the sadness that lurked there.

"What makes you happy?"

The question caught me off guard. Why would he ask me that? Not that it really mattered. But still.

"Little Jae and Jimin. The way they smile, the sound of their laughs when they played in the meadow. See you smile."

"Oh..."

Yoongi looked away for a moment, Then back his eyes searching mine.

"What makes you happy?"

"The sun, this meadow, and you..." he whispered. My heart did a funny thing. I don't think it's ever done that. Not even when I thought I found someone to love.

"Oh..."

I need to shake this off. Standing up I smiled happily.

"Ready for another day of fun with some glitching!?"

Yoongi smiled up at me, nodding. I started to think of the things that made me happy and the one thing I loved most in this world. The warm bubbly feeling filled my chest. Then I was standing on two feet once more.

A sharp pain pierced through my side. It was getting worse. I wasn't going to be able to stay in this form for long. Yoongi's eyes filled with worry as he watched me carefully. I tried to hide the pain. It was so much easier when I was a fox. I could hide it better.

"Try..." I encouraged him. He sat there staring at me, then his eyes closed. Minutes passed and nothing happened. Yoongi opened his eyes, the honey glow that was there before had gone away. This was my fault. I clasped my hands together on my chest.

He closed his eyes once again. Several minutes passed. A white light started to surround him, his body transformed into that of a handsome young man. Slowly he moved towards me, his dark eyes once again searching mine.

"Jinx."

I just stared at him. He reached out with his hand to touch my cheek. I turned my face into it.

"You did it..." I whispered, his arms wrapped around me catching me before I collapsed. Darkness swept across my vision. All I could hear was Yoongi saying my name over and over.

——

It was so strange being in this form. I was a lot further away from the ground on these two feet. Instead of fur I had black robes on. Jinx on the other hand. Her skin was pale, with silvery white hair, her eyes were the same emerald green. She still seemed so very small, her slender frame covered by that of a white silk dress with black singeing the bottom. Much like her fur.

I held her close to my chest, carrying her through the forest to find Lilith. She had to know what to do. Something was very wrong.

"Jinx?" I kept saying her name over and over, hoping she would wake up. But her eyes didn't even flutter when he called her. Fear plagued him, what if she never woke up. What if she was like Chakri and never spoke again?

Stop! I can't think that way. I tried to clear the saddening thoughts, replacing them with her smiles the way she would get excited when I stayed in this human form long each time. How she never left my side.

I had to stay strong for her.

Lilith was swaying side to side by the stream. Her branches moved rhythmically to a tune only she could hear.

"Lilith!" I cried out, talking to my knees with Jinx.

Lilith's eyes grew wide as she looked from me to Jinx.

"You did it."

I frowned at her, looking back at Jinx's pale face. Her breathing was uneven. Lilith took her out of my arms holding her gently.

"What day is it?" Lilith questioned.

"I'm not sure..."

Hwasa moved towards us. Her face etched with worry.

"There was still time." She whispered.

Both Hwasa and Lilith looked at me with sad eyes that also seemed curious.

"What?" I asked, a bit confused by their expressions.

"How long have you been like that?" Hwasa looked me up and down. I glanced down at my hands and body.

"I don't know... is Jinx going to be okay?"

Fates

"Her fate has been sealed."
