It hurts him
I ran toward the stream of dreams heart pounding against my chest.
"Hwasa!" I cried out when she came into view. She looked up at me from her position hovering over the cloud like stream.
"What is it, Little one?"
"Take the dream away!" I demanded without giving an explanation. She stared at me confused.
"What dream?"
"The one with the children."
"No." Her tone was flat. She turned away looking back over the stream.
"Please!" I begged.
"Look..." she whispered. My eyes drifted to the stream where a new dream filled a cloud. Two little foxes played happily in a meadow covered in wildflowers. I gasped. Yoongi was dreaming a happy dream!
Hwasa looked at me curiously.
"How?"
"How what?" I asked a wide grin on my little face. She smiled at me.
"How did the sadness not overwhelm you?"
"Happy thoughts."
"Happy thoughts?"
"Like the boy from the fairy tale?"
"What boy?"
Hwasa straightened out her trunk. Her eyes falling to the stream, where another dream displayed a boy flying over a huge clock, laughing happily followed by a girl with a pink ribbon in her ash brown hair. She seemed to be in a nightgown. Where he was wearing some sort of nature made outfit.
They flew above houses, straight up into the stars.
"Peter Pan..."
"I've never heard this story." I concluded.
"They used happy thoughts and some pixie dust to fly."
"Oh that sounds like so much fun."
Hwasa laughed. "I'm sure it is."
Now that I think about it. She would know best. She used to be the moon that lit up the night sky after all.
Who is the moon now?
"Question?"
"What's that, little one?"
"Who is the moon now?"
"Jackson... the god of Wonder."
God of Wonder? I don't ever remember there being a god of Wonder.
"I've never heard of him..."
"He is my brother... also known to the western side of the world as the sandman. He didn't care for the name. Prefers Wonder."
I glanced up at the moon to see a face in it, looking down at me. When it winked, I jerked my head back to stare at Hwasa. She laughed.
"Did I mention he's a big flirt?"
I shook my head.
"Hwasa?"
"Jinx!" Lilith's singsong voice called to me surprised. I ran to her, jumping into her extended branch-like arms.
"Lilith!"
"You won the little game, I see." She was smiling.
"Yes! I also played with Yoongi in the meadow today." I beamed. She looked shocked. Hwasa turned back to the stream.
"She used the method of the boy Peter."
Lilith stared at Hwasa.
"Really?"
Hwasa smirked and nodded, a tear falling into the stream forming a new cloud. Within it a dark dream formed. However, this one wasn't sad.
A young handsome man sat at the edge of the woods watching two little foxes play. He seemed to envy them. Wishing he too could play freely. But he was bound to some unknown force. He had flowy black hair, broad shoulders and a soft smile that could make any woman fall for him.
Who was he?
Hwasa sighed. "At least he didn't attack."
"Attack? Why would he? He seems peaceful."
Lilith squeezed me gently.
"He is a Pen."
"Clearly he is a man." I argued. Both Hwasa and Lilith looked into the dream.
"He is a man in his dream. But he is a Pen when he is awake."
Fear washed over my entire body. A pen had been watching Yoongi and I in the meadow...
"Is he the bad one?"
"They are all bad." Hwasa sighed.
"No... He is Jin." Lilith smiled at the man in the dream cloud.
"That's what Jin looks like as a man?! He is most handsome! No wonder Joonie fell so hard!"
Both of the tree walkers laughed at me. Hwasa laughter was cut short. Her eyes clouded over as more tears fell from them.
The dream with the children came into view. I felt angry all of a sudden. She really was going to keep playing it!
"You can't keep playing that!" I snapped at Hwasa.
"Jinx!" Lilith scolded me. I narrowed my eyes at the crying tree.
"Stop! Playing it!"
"It makes him happy." She was her response.
"No! It hurts him!" I screamed. Lilith squeezed me, trying to calm me down.
Hwasa looked over, with worried filled eyes.
"Hurts him?"
I nodded.
"Have you ever watched his face when he sees it?"
Slowly one of her long branches reached out to touch the cloud displaying the dream. It burst into a rainbow, disappearing into Hwasa's leaves.
"I'll hold it... in case he requests it. I don't want to hurt the black nine tailed fox. I only wanted to help him."
"We all do." Lilith comforted her.
"He seems to have a happy memory now of his own anyway." Hwasa smiled.
We all agreed.
"Little one, it is late. Let's get some rest."
I yawned, stretching out. A dull ache spreading through my tails. Six long months flew by. Two and a half years left to hopefully train Yoongi.
With Hope to guide me. May the god of Sunshine bless me.
FATES
"I thought he said his punishment was impossible to penetrate..." snarled Irene. Seulgi sulked watching the foxes play. While Yeri played with bone dice. She always found it amusing to decide a person's fate with them.
"That is what he said... I think he's been hanging around Jungkook too much." Complained Yeri as she tossed a bone up in the air, watching it as it clattered on the pristine marble table.
She slammed her hands down on the edges, hoping to make it turn over. Alas it did not.
"Oh for the love of Taehyung!" She exclaimed.
"What is the fate of the Tree Walker Chakri?"
Yeri frowned at the bone. Both Seulgi and Irene just shrugged then Seulgi picked up a magenta vial
Filled with white liquid, pouring it into a bowl with black sand and leaves.
It simmered in the dark light of the room.
Yet another fate decided.
