Review
I have yet to play Jaehee's route, so I have not completed the whole game, yet I will be giving it a review.
Mystic Messenger. All I can say is wow. I have to admit that this is one of my first otome games that I've played through and I was obsessed.
The storyline: it's great. It's not just some superficial "I have a mysterious background, I'm edgy" type thing. Like no, it's this maze that you run through that has twists and curves and sometimes you find yourself at a dead end and other times you find the exit. Packed with drama, feels and not to mention angst, the storyline was beyond amazing and completely blew me away.
The characters and their routes: my favorite part of this whole game. The amount of effort they put into all of this astounds me! Each character has its own background story and their own personal drama. A++ on voice casting and character design and development. Different things happen in different routes and you can't say you can predict what will happen next.
This game was great. I loved it! I have decided to currently put it down, since college is picking up the pace and I don't have the time, hourglasses or money to make it to day eleven. I will admit that after two days of not playing, I miss my fictional boyfriends and have the urge to go back.
I didn't uninstall the game, so I can continue getting updates and racking up those compensatory hgs Cheritz gives for winter break.
The game has a lot of great qualities and a very memorable storyline. Would I recommend this game to others? Who haven't I recommended it to, honestly. To answer my question, yes I would recommend this game to others, if they have answer lot of time to kill.
I can't say this game has many flaws, except for its real time feature. It's unique because at some point, you're going to have to put the game down, but it's also inconvenient because you can't be doing chats at 3 am in the morning. And yes, Cheritz has begun the in game ban abuse for "time traveling" - but can you blame them?
Cheritz is a very great company that has brought us this great game. They placed that in game ban for a reason - to get more money. And before you go shouting about how they're a rotten, capitalist company - hear me out.
If everyone keeps time traveling, which means, completely ignoring the use of hourglasses and the reason to purchase them, they won't make any money. Not everything in life will be free and Cheritz needed to start making profits off the game sooner or later. We should at least be grateful that Mystic Messenger is free, since the other two games they've created ate not.
And you may be saying, "But Mimi, how will I keep playing if I don't have hgs?" Trade your hearts. Yeah, it's a rip off that 100 Hearts give you one hourglass but tough luck and good luck babies because you can probably get 100 Hearts a day anyways.
Yeah, we all can't drop money on it, because we either aren't old enough, don't have cards or anything. I would recommend putting the game down like I did and rack up the hgs and save it for winter break.
Please don't hate them and understand that Cheritz needs money too.
I would like to thank Cheritz for giving us this wonderful game and wonderful people.
I can't wait to pick it up again.
