Abi looked upon what once was her home, so long ago. Tears began falling from her eyes, and she fell to her knees, her head in her hands. The girls knelt beside her and tried to comfort her. "Abi...it'll be okay." Zoe reassured her. Abi breathed in quickly but kept on crying, her home was ruined, it was once so light and green, now it's pitch black and dreary. She stood up, drying her tears, she looked around, everyone just had somber expressions upon their faces. 

She took a deep breath and pushed the others away from her and began walking toward the woods, "Hey! Wait, you don't have to go in!" Candy said reaching her hand out to place it on Abi's shoulder, Abi swatted it away. Candy quickly retracted her hand, Abi's complexion seemed to be a bit grey, and her eyes duller then they usually are. Emily and Zoe looked at each other, worried expressions plastered. "Alright then.." Candy said putting her hands up in defense. Abi walked to the forest, the others followed. Zoe and Emily could sense the tension between their two best friends. But the scariest thing was, Emily couldn't read Abi's mind, that worried her. 

The forest was dark, Zoe used her magic to make a fire in her hand so the light from it could guide them. Emily stopped in her tracks, "Stop guys, shh.." She shushed them. "I heard something.." She explained, They all heard it, blood curdling screams, chains clanking, cackles of wicked people, and the growls of wolves. Emily drew her sword, Zoe readied her magic, Candy transformed into a dire-wolf. But Abi just stood, still and quiet, and that worried them. 

"Abi!" Zoe whisper shouted, Abi turned round slowly, skin grey, eyes dark and a wicked smile on her face, that really worried them! She raised a hand, and threw all of them back into trees, knocking out Candy and Zoe. Emily stood up slowly, rubbing her head. "Abi!" She yelled. Abi turned and was about to throw her back again, Emily threw smoke-bomb taking away Abi's sight temporarily. Emily quickly ran, punched Abi and she fell backwards, knocking her unconscious. "Sorry.." Emily said quietly, Zoe and Candy got up and walked over. 

"Zoe, can you do anything to help her?" Candy asked, "No, i can't. Since she had such a strong and unique connection with this forest, the dark magic here is affecting her, and no one taught me magic like this." Zoe explained. Candy nodded, sadly. "Well, she should be out for a while, maybe we can get the crystal before she wakes." Emily said. "How do we move her?" Zoe asked. "You two can carry her." Emily shrugged. "Why us?" Candy asked. "Because i'm the one with all the weapons!" Emily said, Zoe nodded, it seemed fair to her, Candy just said "Fine, lazy!".

So Candy and Zoe carried Abi while Emily walked ahead, looking behind her periodically to make sure her friends were okay. She heard something, stopping again, Candy bumping into her. Emily looked around, and drew her sword again, she heard cackling again. She then saw an Elf with red eyes, holding something in his hands, the crystal! "Hey!" Emily yelled, He just smirked and threw all of them back with the power of the crystal. Zoe hit the tree wrong and dislocated her shoulder, she screamed out in pain. Candy tried to move herself over to her. 

Emily tried standing, but fell, Abi stood up. She threw the elf back with her magic, He got back up and shot ice daggers at her, She dodged them all. He shot fire at her, Zoe screamed in pain again as Candy tried fixing her arm, but couldn't. "Emily!" Candy yelled, but she wasn't there. Abi stomped her foot and shook the ground, smiling wickedly, her eyes still black. The ground beneath the Elf was breaking, He looked down, then, blood was coming out of his mouth, Emily pulled her sword out of his back. He dropped to the ground, lifeless. 

The ground still breaking, Emily fell and held onto the ledge, "Abi!" She yelled. "Help! Please.." She cried out. Abi's eyes went back to normal, and she fell to the ground and held her head, "Abi!" She looked up and rushed over to her friends aid. She quickly pulled Emily out of the pit and closed it up. They both rushed to Zoe's side. Candy tried fixing the arm again, Zoe screamed out in pain, this time it was back in it's normal place. Emily helped her up, "You okay?" She asked, "I think so.." She said and rubbed her arm, which was stiff. Abi walked over to the crystal and picked it up, it shined a bright pink and a bright light beamed out from it, making the forest bright and lively again. 

Flowers bloomed, trees were greener, and the sun shone throughout it again. Abi's skin was back to it's normal color and her eyes were no longer black and lifeless. She smiled at her friends, they ran to her and hugged her, Abi laughed, and then put a hand to her jaw which was bruised and painful. "Why does my jaw hurt?" She asked. Emily's eyes widened, "Oops....um, sorry?" She said, questioning whether or not that was something to apologize about. 

Abi rolled her eyes, and they all walked on. Abi skipped around, now happy that her home was once again back to it's formal glory and beauty. She touched a flower that was droopy and half dead, it turned a vibrant orange after her fingertips touched it's petals. The girls all smiled and walked out of the forest. Emily looked around, she could see the mountains, where the sword of Arthur Mystic was. She turned back to her friends who were admiring the scenery around them. 

"Okay, so we have the spell book of Joshua, and the Crystal of Mina. Now we go to the mountains, then we hopefully get the sword." She told them. They nodded. They began the long walk to the mountain, Zoe began reading the spell book, wanting to know more. Candy transformed herself into a hawk and flew above them, scoping everything out. Abi looked down at the ground, in deep thought, "You alright?" Emily asked, "Yeah, kinda. I'm sorry all that happened. I guess i couldn't really control it." She replied. "It's okay! It wasn't your fault, that Elf was evil and the crystal just happened to change in his hands." Emily reassured her. Abi nodded. 

And so they trudged on, heading down the exciting and perilous road of an epic adventure.                                                           To Be Continued....
