Seán continued forward, listening to Chris' explanation as to where to watch the broadcast. Now that they had access to a bigger screen Seán would be able to see more details.

The trio entered the broadcasting station. For a brief moment, Seán couldn't control his staring at the android assigned to be their partner. Seán took the reigns back from Chase and continued to look around without saying a word to the father figure.

The broadcast was pulled up on the huge screen in front of one of the control panels. In front of it stood a man in a long jacket, hands folded neatly behind his back as he stared at the screen.

Chris spoke up, "Oh, Lieutenant, Sergeant, this is Special Agent Perkins from the FBI. Lieutenant and Sergeant Anderson are in charge of investigating for Detroit Police."

Perkins looked over and made eye contact first with Hank, then with Seán. Something lit up in his eyes as Chris said Seán's name. Something mischievous. Seán watched Perkin's eyes move to Connor.

"What's that?" Perkins asked, disregarding Seán and Hank for the moment.

Connor spoke up in that ever-innocent voice, "My name is Connor, I'm the android sent by CyberLife."

Perkins scoffed a bit, "Androids investigating androids, huh?"

"Yeah, almost like humans investigating humans, what a fuckin' concept," Seán grumbled without thinking. Perkins glared at Seán for a moment.

"You sure you want an android hanging around?" Perkins asked, looking at Hank in his eyes. "After everything that happened..." Seán could hear the passive-aggressiveness of Perkin's voice a mile away. He had grown accustomed to hearing it whenever he told someone about his diagnosis. The doubt, the anger, all of it rolled into one slight shift of tone. It took Hank a moment, but Seán could see the realization in his eyes.

"Whatever, the FBI will take over the investigation. You'll soon be off the case," Perkins said. Seán bit his tongue to prevent him- or Chase- from saying something stupid.

"Pleasure meeting you. Have a nice day," Hank bit out, passively pointing to the door they had just come through. He began to walk off. Perkins began walking out of the room. Seán hesitated, waiting for Perkins to leave before he did anything else.

"And watch your step," Perkins began. Hank looked back, and Seán found himself moving back a step. "Don't fuck up my crime scene."

As Perkins began to walk out he bumped into Connor. Connor turned to look at the FBI agent, but the agent offered no apology. Seán had to hold back from chasing after him and making him apologize.

"What a fuckin' prick," Hank and Seán said at the same time. Internally, Chase laughed at the little coincidence. Seán had to fight to keep a straight face as he began looking around.

Chris spoke up, "I'll be nearby. If you need anything, just ask."

"Thanks, Chris," Seán called out. The Irish accent slipped a little as he spoke. "Chase, what did I tell you?"

"He needed to be thanked!" Chase cried out.

"I was literally about to say thank you," Seán grumbled.

"Let's have a look around," Hank mumbled as he walked off. "Let me know if you find anything."

"Ok, Lieutenant," Connor mumbled, immediately walking off.

Seán stood still for a moment, trying to remember why he was here. Right, investigating the video. He turned around and looked directly at the large screen.

The features of the android on screen were oddly familiar. Connor asked a question off to the side as Seán shoved his hands in his pockets. "Chase, you keeping track of that?"

"Yup. They didn't break-in. Connor is saying something about the hallway cameras... Hank just said that maybe the staff just didn't look at the cameras." Chase's voice remained just quiet enough that Seán could hear, but it didn't affect his thinking.

Where have I seen those features before? Seán sighed, briefly glancing over to see Connor lean over the console again. Connor turned the chair, and Seán went back to looking at the screen.

"They stored the androids that were in here in the kitchen." Chase updated Seán.

Connor approached the screen and played the broadcast. As the android looked up at it Seán listened harder to the screen.

"We ask that you recognize our dignity, our hopes, and our rights. Together, we can live in peace and build a better future, for humans and androids. This message is the hope of a people. You gave us life. And now the time has come for you to give us freedom," The deviant said.

"Think that's rA9?" Hank asked from next to Connor.

Seán stepped forward, "rA9 was said to free the androids, that seems to be what this deviant wants." Seán glanced at Connor and Hank. Connor still stared up at the screen, eyes flitting around.

"HOLY SHIT!" Chase yelled.

Seán flinched at the sound of Chase yelling, "What? What is it?

"I fucking told you not to trust him, Seán! I told you!"

"Chase, what the fuck is going on?" Seán grit his teeth as he watched Connor scan the screen.

"That's Markus! You said 'It'll be fine, he's just an innocent guy!' but I fucking told you he wasn't! I tried to warn you!" Chase continued.

Seán's stomach dropped, "I'm sure there are other androids of the same model. CyberLife makes hundreds of androids a day. This can't be Markus." Seán mentally placed an image of Markus' face over this deviant's. He couldn't deny how well they lined up.

"D'you see something?" Hank asked.

Seán looked over to see Connor still staring up at the screen. Connor opened his mouth a second before he spoke, "I identified its model and serial number..."

"Anything else I should know?" Hank asked. Seán's eyes met his for a moment, and Seán raised his eyebrows. The whole Markus thing could wait, Connor was obviously uncomfortable. He was hiding something.

Connor hesitated, but looked over at Hank, "No. Nothing." Now looking back at the screen, Seán watched Connor look over the video again.

Hank walked off, but Seán remained. "Ask him Seán, ask Connor if that's him."

Seán gritted his teeth, "Connor, what model is that deviant?"

Connor glanced at Seán, then back up at the screen.

Seán pressed further, "Connor, you won't be in trouble if you tell me." Seán leaned in now and lowered his voice, "I'm not going to turn in that android if you tell me. I need to know for... personal reasons."

Connor sighed, "It's an RK200 model, a prototype."

"So only one was made," Seán mumbled. He could feel his heart rate elevate.

"Do you know him?" Connor asked, looking at Seán.

Seán hesitated before speaking up, "Maybe. I gave directions to someone who looked very similar, it may be him."

Connor nodded and walked off. Seán felt like he was going to puke. Even though he had only met Markus twice, Seán wanted to know that he would be safe. But now Connor was going off to tell Hank and Hank would tell Fowler and Fowler would have him fired.

To Seán's surprise, Connor avoided Hank entirely. Seán breathed a sigh of relief, walking towards the open door. Unfortunately, he knew the stairs inside led to the roof, but eventually, he needed to go up there. Why not go now and get it over with?

Seán began to ascend the stairs slowly, taking deep breaths. The hall remained empty, but even still Seán couldn't help but feel like he was being judged. Chase spoke up from the inside every few steps, gently encouraging Seán to keep going. Seán finally made it to the top and opened the door, slowly stepping out.

"This was a bad idea," Seán mumbled to himself as the door shut behind him.

"You've got this. Just hang out here until Hank and Connor come up. They need to come up anyway," Chase encouraged.

Seán walked to the left- away from the edge of the building. A strong gust of wind blew and Seán froze. While waiting on his compatriots Seán just stood on the roof and looked around, trying to just admire how beautiful the sky was. The door opened a moment later, revealing Hank and Connor.

Seán approached the pair, and Hank's eyebrows shot up. "I'm surprised. Thought you were back in the elevator going downstairs," Hank teased with a smile.

Seán laughed a bit, "No, I was trying to ease my anxiety before you got here." Seán looked out towards the edge again and shivered, "It didn't do much though."

Hank pat Seán's arm before continuing forward, "Made their way up the building, past all the guards, and jumped off the roof with parachutes. Pretty fucking impressive I'd say."

Seán looked around for a moment, just watching Connor as the android investigated the new evidence. The sergeant could clearly see blue blood splattered on the wall, and a sickened feeling filled Seán's stomach.

"What's going on? You're usually fine with blood," Chase mumbled, making the head turn quickly.

Seán audibly groaned, rubbing his temple, "I don't know."

"How'd they manage to smuggle in a big bag like that?" Hank asked.

Seán turned to see Connor kneeling down next to a duffle bag. The android's voice came to Seán as if they stood on opposite ends of a tunnel. It sounded like a garbled mess, but Seán could see Connor pull out an excess parachute. Someone was left behind.

"Is there someone in there with you?" Seán asked, gritting his teeth and trying to blink the fog filling his brain away.

"No, just me," Chase grumbled.

Seán's eyes followed Connor as he continued to look around. As Seán passed Hank to follow Connor the older man gripped Seán's arm.

"You okay?" Hank asked as he pulled Seán close. "You looked zoned out."

Seán blinked again, took a deep breath, and replied slowly, "I think someone is trying to switch in but it's just me and Chase in co-con right now."

"Do you need to go back in?" Hank asked, "I can cover for ya."

Seán shook his head, "I just need to calm down a bit, I'll be okay."

Hank hesitated but nodded. The fog had disappeared for a brief moment thanks to Hank gripping his arm, so Seán looked for Connor again. He's going to do something stupid. Connor had just finished looking at the door and moved on to the right. Seán took a second to catch up to the android, bending down to scoop fresh snow into his palm. As Seán squeezed, the chill from the snow sent a shock up his spine.

"What are ya looking for?" Seán asked as he followed behind Connor.

"Blue blood traces. I believe they left a member behind," Connor stated, looking around. The android turned to the right again and kept walking.

Seán looked around, pointing out a couple of blue blood spots. Again, vomit rose in his throat. Seán swallowed it down, continuing on.

The duo approached a storage container and Connor held his hand up.

"Seán, you're in no shape to be approaching this right now. Stand back for just a moment, and I'll take care of it," Connor's voice stated the information in a tone that suggested he wouldn't take no for an answer. Seán had no choice but to grit his teeth and take a step back as Connor approached a door in the container.

Seán's heart slammed in his chest, and time felt like it slowed as Connor approached. Seán didn't quite understand why, but as Connor grew closer he said, "Chase, go get Henrik."

"On it," Chase's presence left the headspace for just a moment, and Seán watched as Connor reached the door.

Connor opened the door, and shots rang out. Connor went flying backward, and another android pushed out of the container.

"Fuck!" Seán shouted, rushing forward. He grabbed Connor by the armpits, dragging him behind cover. "Shit, shit, shit, oh my god, Connor-!" Seán switched back to internal communication, "HENRIK, NOW! CONNOR HAS BEEN SHOT!"

Hank rushed over, returning fire to the android before crouching. "What happened?"

Seán pressed his hands to the gaping wound in Connor's shoulder, "Connor opened the door and the deviant shot him!"

Pain flared in Seán's head, and Henrik spoke up, "If we switch he would lose too much blood. Seán, I need you to follow exactly what I say."

"Okay," Seán mumbled. He didn't even care if he said it out loud. Hank and Connor were too busy arguing to care anyway.

"Take some cloth and press it on ze wound, you'll need to wrap zis in a moment," Henrik's accent grew notably thicker, voice louder. "Anti shut up, we need Seán to concentrate!"

"I should be out there!"

"It's too late to switch!"

Seán took his jacket off, pressing it against Connor's shoulder. Immediately he began to shiver, but he didn't care, "Now what Henrik?"

"Now you-.

It didn't matter, Connor took off. Instinctively Seán stood to go after him, but Hank pulled him down, "You sit down! I can't lose you too!" Hank stood and returned fire.

Seán turned to look around the side. The sight in his left eye warped, and Anti made the body stand. Connor approached the deviant, expertly dodging bullets. The android jumped the barrier the deviant was using and gripped its arm. Seán took the opportunity to follow, trying to reach Connor before he was hurt again.

The deviant raised the gun towards his face and released a shot. Blue blood splattered out of the android's face just as Seán reached Connor. The android jumped away and into Seán, shouting in shock. The deviant crumpled to the ground.

"Connor, what the fuck!" Seán cried out, turning the android to face him. Blue blood had splattered all over his chest, and that chest was heaving. Seán looked up at Connor's LED. It flashed an angry red, and Connor gripped Seán's arms.

"Seán, he's afraid," Henrik said. "Get him away from ze body."

"He's just a fucking android, he shouldn't be scared!" Anti shouted.

Seán began pulling Connor away as other cops approached, "You're okay now, you're okay."

"Connor! Connor are you all right?" Hank ran towards the two. The android didn't respond, just gripped Seán's arms tighter. "Connor!" Hank shouted.

"Okay..." Connor finally spoke up.

"Are you hurt?" Hank asked, grabbing onto Connor and searching his body for other wounds.

"I'm okay," Connor stuttered.

"Jesus," Hank mumbled, pulling away. "Oh, you scared the shit outta me..."

Connor's eyes remained trained straight ahead- straight at the deviant.

"Block ze body, Seán," Henrik demanded, sounding impatient.

Seán moved, waving his hand in front of Connor's eyes. The android's attention snapped to him, and what Seán saw nearly broke his heart. Fear filled those eyes- the same fear he had felt for years and years.

"For fuck sake, I told you not to move!" Hank shouted. Seán flinched, even though he knew Hank was just angry because he was worried. "Why do you never do what I say?"

Seán found himself whispering, "Sorry." The apology was instinctual, even though he had- theoretically- done nothing wrong. Seán grabbed onto Connor's arm and squeezed, grounding himself from the alter that threatened to take over. "Anti, we're safe now, chill the hell out."

"I was connected to its memory," Connor spoke up, briefly letting go of Seán's arm to turn to Hank. "When it fired... I felt it die. Like I was dying." Connor's voice cracked, and Seán's heart ached. "I was scared," Connor admitted.

Seán gripped Connor's arm, and the android turned back to him, "I saw something... in its memory. A word, painted on a piece of rusty metal... 'Jericho'."

Seán smiled at Connor, "You did good." Hank approached and gripped Seán's arm, turning his son slightly and yelling something about putting himself in danger. Seán didn't care, he kept eye contact with Connor.

"You're okay now. You're safe."
