chapter 15
“This has to be the place,” Michael stated as he landed on the ground, and his wings immediately went in. “I feel demons everywhere,” he muttered as he carefully surveyed the area. He took a rapid breath before he headed inside.
Michael looked around carefully to avoid any demon sensing him first. When he was sure the coast was clear, he took another step but quickly paused when he felt a demon close by.
He wasted no time as he hid and waited until the demon was in sight. When the demon came in sight, Michael watched the way the demon stopped on foot and looked around his environment. Michael was sure the demon felt something. He watched the demon shrug and continue walking.
Michael jumped out of his hiding place and tiptoed slowly, trailing the demon. He was cautious not to make any sound.
This demon has to be a low-ranked one. He should have noticed me by now.
When the demon was about to make a turn, that was when he noticed the Angel trailing him. The demon quickly backed away, leaving a considerable distance between himself and the Angel.
“What are you doing here?” the demon asked, attempting to sound confident.
Michael scoffed and folded his arms. He could see past the demon's facade. “Where is the human that was brought here?”
“I don't know what you are speaking about,” the demon said.
“Yes, you do, and you are going to tell me,” Michael demanded.
From the nook of his eyes, he noticed the demon moving backward. He wondered what the demon had in mind until he saw a big red button which the demon was trying to reach. He quickly grabbed hold of the demon and held him down.
“You think you are smart, huh?” Michael questioned.
“They will come for you,” the demon spat.
Michael wasted no time as he snapped the demon's neck and left his lifeless physique lying on the ground.
“Stupid demon,” Michael muttered as he continued his trip further into the demon zone. He walked for a few minutes before he spotted another demon. He quickly hid and watched as the clueless demon walked past him.
Michael softly sighed and continued walking. It didn't take him time to spot the demons discussing, and they all had their backs turned to him.
‘I wonder what they are discussing,’ he thought to himself.
He saw a deep frown on their faces, but he knew he couldn't dwell on it. He acted fast. Not only that, but he attacked the first two demons on his right-hand side, making the other two demons conscious of his presence. The demon rapidly moved backward as they eyed the Angel.
“How did you get in here? How did you even get past the entrance?” one of the demons asked.
Michael smirked at them and crossed his arms. “Where is she?” Michael asked.
“Who do you speak of?” one of the demons asked.
“Oh, I think I know who you are searching for. It's that bossy human girl that was brought in here,” the other demon replied.
Michael nearly smiled at the demon's description of Jessie. He could imagine Jessie giving them hell already.
“Where is she?” Michael asked again.
“As if I will tell you,” the demon said as he glared at Michael.
“I'm not giving you a choice,” Michael muttered as he quickly reached for one of the demons and held down. “Tell me now before I kill your friend!” Michael threatened the other demon.
“Who said he is my friend?” the demon questioned with a smirk.
“Tell me where the human is,” Michael muttered. He was getting impatient.
“And if I say no, what will you do?” the demon challenged.
Michael wasted no time in killing the demon that he held down. However, the other demon did not even flinch; instead, he had a big grin on his face.
“Is that all?” the demon queried.
Michael frowned. He knew something was off about the demon, and that was when it hit him. He could sense other demons around. He quickly turned to see other demons surrounding him. He cursed softly for his carelessness to pay attention to his environment. He took his stance to fight, but the demon he had been talking to hit him on his head. Michael screamed in pain as he slowly fell to the ground.
The demons around him were saying something, but he couldn't make out any words. His vision became blurry before he fell unconscious.

Jessie was still sitting quietly in the room. She couldn't find a way to escape. She was in deep thought before the door to the room she was in opened. Jessie watched a man walk in confidently with other demons by his side. She had never seen him before, and judging by the way he looked, she could tell he was a very powerful man.
‘Maybe he is the demon's leader.’
The man stood and looked intensely at Jessie whilst Jessie tried not to squirm.
“I like her. She will be good for us. What do you think?” the demon leader asked as he turned to the demons at his side.
“She will be perfect, Master,” one of the demons replied, making the other demons nod their heads in agreement.
‘Why are they speaking about me like I'm not here?’ Jessie questioned herself.
The demon leader took a step forward and raised his hands in an attempt to touch Jessie, but she pushed his hands before they could get to her face.
“Don't touch me,” Jessie said as she glared at him. “Where is my sister?”
“Do you want to see your sister?” the demon leader asked.
“Of course, yes,” Jessie answered.
“I will make you an offer,” the demon leader said as his eyes roamed Jessie's body. “I will let you see your sister and even let her go in exchange for you staying here.”
Jessie stood with a deep frown on her face.
“So, what do you say?”
“Hell no!” Jessie yelled.
The demon leader laughed at Jessie. “You don't have a choice,” he spat. “I think I know why you are so confident. You think your Angel friends will come to your rescue, right?”
‘Of course, yes,’ Jessie wanted to say, but she kept quiet. She knew the Angels would not let her down.
“Bring him inside,” the demon leader ordered.
Jessie wondered who they were bringing in until the door was opened. She saw two demons holding Michael.
‘Why isn't he moving?’ she asked herself.
She watched as they dropped him hard on the ground. Jessie immediately rushed to his sides. “What did you do to him?” she yelled at them. “Michael,” she whispered softly
“Think about my offer,” the demon leader said before he left the room.
“Michael, please wake up,” Jessie whispered whilst shaking him, but Michael did not stir. She softly sighed as she wrapped her arms around Michael.
An hour later, Michael began to stir. He tried to open his eyes, but he had a horrible headache, which made him shut his eyes tight.
“Michael,” Jessie called out softly.
The sound of Jessie's voice made Michael snap his eyes open. A beautiful smile formed on his lips at the sight of Jessie. He pulled her into a hug. “I was so scared,” he whispered in her ears. He planted a kiss on her cheek, which made Jessie freeze.
‘He just kissed me.’ She knew she shouldn't read anything into the kiss, but she just couldn't help it.
“I thought I had lost you,” Michael's words pulled her out of her thoughts. “Are you hurt?” He asked as he trailed his fingers down her face, which made Jessie slightly shiver.
“No, I'm fine,” Jessie managed to reply. “Where is everyone? Aren't they coming?”
“They are coming,” Michael said.
“Why did you leave without them?” Jessie asked.
“I couldn't wait to see you,” Michael softly said as he planted a kiss on her forehead. “They are close by. I can feel them. Get ready.”
It didn't take time before the door burst open, revealing Raguel. “We will have a very serious discussion when we get home,” Raguel said sternly to Michael. He turned to face Jessie, “Are you alright?”
Jessie nodded her head.
“Michael, take Jessie with you so you could help her look for her sister,” Raguel said
Michael nodded his head and held out his hand for Jessie. She placed her hand on his as they both left the room.
The demon zone was in chaos with Angels and demons in a serious battle. Michael saw Raphael knocking down a demon. He nodded at him before they walked past him.
Michael and Jessie searched every room, but they couldn't find Jessie's sister anywhere.
“Where is she? Jessie said worriedly.
“Let's keep checking. She has to be somewhere,” Michael said.
Jessie nodded her head and continued walking.
Michael, all of a sudden, stopped walking when he heard a faint noise. He walked in the direction of the sound, with Jessie following close by. Michael stopped walking when he noticed a little girl shaking in fear. Before he could say anything, Jessie rushed to the girl’s side.
“Sunshine! Oh my God!” Jessie whispered as tears fell down her face.
“Jessie,” Sunshine called out softly. “I thought you would never come for me,” she murmured.
“I can never leave you,” Jessie said with tears streaming down her face.
“Jessie, we have to go,” Michael said. He honestly didn't want to interrupt them, but they needed to leave the demon zone.
Sunshine held onto Jessie tightly. “Is he going to hurt me?” she whimpered, looking at Michael.
Michael's eyes softened at Sunshine's statement.
“He won't hurt you,” Jessie reassured her. “Let's go home, Sunshine.”
Michael quickly contacted, Raguel telling him they had found Jessie's sister, and they were making their way home.
Michael flashed his wings whilst Jessie stood up with her sister.
“I'm so tired, Jessie,” Sunshine murmured.
“Close your eyes. We will be home soon,” Jessie said.
Michael flashed his wings while Jessie wrapped her arms around him as they left the demon zone.
