chapter 2
Oh God! Not again
"Alright, all of you get ready breakfast is gonna be ready in 10minutes" Aunty shouts from the kitchen.
All the other 4 kids all storm the bathroom to brush their teeth and head down stairs for breakfast. On the otherside, Martha in her own mind can do anything just to stay away from everyone even if it means skipping food but she cant do that today, atleast not this morning because she hasn't eaten from yesterday afternoon.
Once on the dining table, sitted with these people who are now her family watches the kids excited faces as they dig into their scrumbled eggs and bread toast which actually used to be her favourite food from when her mummy was around.
Her heart sinks! She dsnt think she can ever be able to be happy again as these kids. She misses her mum, dad's bedtime stories and her sisters cuddles! She barely touches the food, rushes back up in her bed with tears in her eyes! This has been happening quiet alot in these past 2 weeks and she just cant stop herself from breaking down. Aunty decided to call the psychiatric again to give it a shot but Martha still holds up against it.
When Aunty comes back from the kitchen and looks around for Martha, as usual all the kids just stare at her like its the most obvious thing. She knows Martha is up there, she thinks of going up there but stops herself knowing she wont get her out of there or force her to finish her breakfast even if she tried.
Feeling agitated by her behaviour these past weeks, Aunty remembers that there is one person who could be of help, Lunn! Lunn McCain is Martha's only solace now.
Martha and Lunn had met several years back when in kindergarten and from then, they were inseparable. They used to have sleep overs and walks to the park together, played princesses with tutus and watched frozen over and over when they were young. They both had almost the same characters, talkative and jolly and quite the same size despite Lunn being several months older.
Martha was your average pretty girl with a lean figure, dark brown eyes which neither of her parents had. Before she changed her hair into dreadlocks, She had had curled natural black hair just like her late little sister.
Lunn on the contrary was beautiful with fleckled dog-shaped face, hazel-green eyes with black wavy hair which she inherited from her spanish ancestral background and not to mention her visible dimples every time she smiled. They were the bestest friends who had become like sisters.
Before the tragic death of Martha's parents mr and mrs Holmes, the McCain's had become close friends as well because of the bond between their two girls. So Aunty dials up a number.
"Hello" mrs McCain answers on the other line. "Oh, hi. Good morning mrs McCain. Its me Martha's Aunty. Am sorry for calling you this early but Martha is having a breakdown and you know what that means".
Mrs McCain tells her that its okay she wil drop off Lunn in a few. She also rumbled about how its been a long time since she visited and that she has finally got a chance to say hi to Aunty and her kids.
