Chapter 1: Son of Poseidon

The entire fight, however, ended within a second and the figure that once stood in front of him now stood on the other side. Bell's mouth hung low in shock as the figure finally turned around, the dark smoke of the monsters casting shadows at the figure but one thing was certain: the person had bright sea green eyes.

"H-H-" he paused as he drew his dagger and pointed at the man, the hieroglyphs glowing bright blue before dimming. His other hand rested on the two unconscious figures behind him as if he was shielding them but he had to admit that his physical condition would not be able to stand a chance against this monster.

The man, though, stayed still as if inspecting him and the knife before he turned around, showing his full face. Skin tanned as if he had stood in sun for too long while the jet-black hair, dishevelled in appearance, seemed to be swept to one side. The green eyes seemed to glow in the rather dull lighting of the tunnel and yet, Bell could not help staring at him.

"Hello, I am Percy." Bell heard the words and fell unconscious, all the stress taking a toll on his body.

Bell groaned slightly as he opened his eyes groggily. Blurry white light greeted him as he rubbed his eyes gently and slowly, sat upright on the comfortable bed that he was laying on. The room had wooden walls, small gaps between the planks allowed streaks of light to seep in; framed pictures hanging from what seemed to be webbed strings. Almost everything was wooden from what Bell could see and he looked at the comfortable bed that he was laying on, releasing a sigh of relief as his gaze fell on the white cloth sheets.

"You awake now?"

Bell's head snapped towards the door frame where the man from before stood, leaning against it. His voice sounded raspy, as if he had swallowed gravel.

The white-haired hero asked, "Who are you?"

"Percy Jackson," Percy replied simply. Bell tried to recall if he had ever heard of that name, but his memory came back blank.

"I-I am Bell Cranel from Hestia Familia. Which familia are you from?"

The question had been wandering in his mind ever since he saw the man's extraordinary swordsmanship. His skills with the sword were far better and refined than what Bell had ever seen, and he had seen Ais Wallenstein's swordsmanship.

Percy looked at him with a confused look, "Familia? What's that?"

"You don't know what a Familia is?" Percy shook his head and Bell continued, exasperatedly, "Where have you been all this time? Are you not from Orario?"

"Orario? No. I am from Manhattan. Where is Orario?"

"Manhattan?"

The two looked at each other in confusion but before anyone could say anything, a tiny figure rushed into the room, squeezing past Percy and leapt at Bell Cranel.

"Master Bell!"

Catching him by surprise, Lili hugged him tightly, her petite figure still falling short despite him sitting on the bed. Percy stayed watching, slightly curious as to how she managed to squeeze past the bare minimum space in the door frame but he kept quiet. These were his first guests since forever ago.

A voice spoke up behind him, "Excuse me," garnering Percy's attention as he moved aside and let the man, almost the same size except a bit buffer to enter the room. Red hair that reminded Percy of a goddess from past, someone he was trying hard to forget.

"Welf!" Bell exclaimed, "are you okay?"

With a cocky grin, Welf showed his right ankle and left arm that was bandaged neatly but, from what Bell could see, there was no more wound on them.

"Better than okay. I feel so energetic and damn ready to beat some monsters," Welf replied to Bell's question.

Percy spoke up, surprising everyone, "I wouldn't recommend that. I don't have a lot of ambrosia or nectar on me that I can spare on you."

"Ambrosia? Nectar?" Welf stared at him confusedly.

"They are food from the Gods' world. It is believed that Greek Gods like Hestia, Zeus and Hera used to drink nectar and ambrosia as their meals because of their exquisite and sweet taste," Lili explained, a finger on her chin as she tried to remember more about it.

Percy nodded and Bell asked, "So then why do you have it? Are you a God?"

"I am a demigod. Well, I suppose I am partially immortal but still a demigod," Percy answered, puzzling them even further, "Don't tell me you don't know what a demigod is."

They stared at each other, and Percy looked at them exasperatedly. If they were mortals, why were they in the dungeon? How could they see the monsters or wield weapons?

"What year is it?"

"What do you mean by that?" Welf asked, "You talk as if you have been here for eons. Demigods, ambrosia, nectar... these are terms nobody has ever heard."

Percy's eyes nodded and within a split second, both had a weapon pointed at each other – Percy's right fist gripping the hilt of a bronze coloured, leaf shaped sword while Welf grasped the greatsword that he had grown accustomed to using.

"You would want to put it away," Percy warned lightly, his emerald-coloured eyes staring intently on his sword, unnerving Crozzo.

Replying futilely, "I could say the same to you bud."

"Trust me," Percy's gaze shifted to his eyes as he looked at him deadpan, "or you will learn it the hard way that there are people far stronger and quicker than you."

"A bit arrogant, aren't you?" Welf muttered as his grip tightened. This man was freaking him out and the fact that he claimed to be stronger than Welf with that scrawny figure annoyed him. The thin blade that Percy carried seemed to amuse him as it seemed like it'd break in an instant.

There was no reply and Bell shot forward, positioning himself between Welf and Percy with outstretched arms, "Stop it both of you." Welf recoiled slightly and with a 'tch' put his greatsword away while Percy looked at the white-haired teenager with slight apprehension before showing a small smile.

Pulling a cap out of his pocket, he placed it on the tip of the sword and the trio watched fascinated as the sword turned into a pen.

"Is that a magic sword?" Bell asked, his eyes following the pen that Percy put in his pocket, much to latter's amusement.

"I guess you could say that."

"But I thought they are only usable once."

"Huh?" Percy tilted his head in confusion, "Say what now? I have been using this sword for decades and as you can see, its perfectly fine."

Bell and Welf exchanged looks and the redhead asked, "How'd you do it?"

"Hmm?" Percy turned to him, his expression showing his boredom.

Gritting his teeth, Welf repeated, "How'd you craft it?"

"I didn't," Percy responded simply, "My sword was crafted by the Cyclops and holds the essence of a Hesperide."

"Hesperide? You mean those from the myths that were Hera's followers?"

"Myths? What about this seems like a myth to you?"

This interaction was beginning to confuse Percy. Who were they? They weren't simply mortals because the nectar and ambrosia would've killed them and yet, it healed them like it would on a normal demigod but, according to these people, they didn't know anything about what should have been common knowledge.

"So you mean to tell me that you've met Hesperides?" the tiny girl asked mockingly.

He simply nodded in response causing the trio to stare at him flabbergasted.

"Which one did you meet?" Bell asked, excitement flashing through his eyes.

Percy snickered, "I have met all of them but the one who gave her essence to this sword was forgotten by the history," he paused as he looked pointedly at his pocket, "I suppose kinda like me now."

"Yeah, lets get back to that. Who exactly are you?" the redhead questioned, his eyes narrow and his fingers inching towards the greatsword that Percy had just noticed attached to his back.

"Like I said, I am Percy Jackson."

"Yeah, I got that. But what are you?"

"I am a demigod. And before you interrupt me again," Percy glared at Welf who closed his mouth from interjecting, "a demigod is a child of one of the Greek gods. I am the son of Poseidon."

Cue a moment of silence as the trio stared at him before they jumped to their feet; Welf unsheathed his greatsword, Liliruca pointed her crossbow at him while Bell jumped, readying his fist since he couldn't find the Hestia Knife. Percy, on the other hand, looked unimpressed.

"Gods cannot have children. That's why they have to come to the mortal realm and bless us to go to the dungeon and try to conquer each level. If you were going to lie, you should've made it believable," Lili screamed.

Welf continued, "I knew he wasn't trustworthy. A mysterious figure appeared in Floor 17 and saves us for no reason. It was too good to be true."

Cranel said nothing as if he was investigating the scene and trying to find other ways to leave the room unscathed. From what it seemed, if they used force, they could easily break through the wooden walls and get out of the house. He had seen Percy's strength before and he knew this was be a challenging fight.

"Oh? They can't have children? Don't make me laugh," Percy exclaimed sarcastically, "You're telling me that after putting countless humans and children through living hell for eons, after every war fought by their children for them, for every time one of them couldn't keep it in their pants, they suddenly cannot have children? That's a load of bullcrap."

"Wha-"

"How dare you?" Bell said, Percy's words having touched a nerve, "You can't spout such nonsense about our gods like that. Who are you to say that?"

"I can say shit about them because guess what? My life was fucked by them on so many occasions that I lost count. Even this situation that I am in is because of them and their mess. So don't preach about them to me because they are no saints."

"They might have made a mistake in the past but now they are doing what they can to save the world so you can't disrespect them."

Percy facepalmed and sat on the bed, completely ignoring the pointed weapons at his direction, "Then tell me, if they are such pure beings, why are they sending humans and demihumans to do their bidding. I am willing to bet that you don't even know how this dungeon came to be."

He hit the nail on the spot as Bell flushed. The dungeon's origin was kept a complete secret among the Gods. No matter how much he had persisted Hestia to reveal it, she always refused and changed the topic to some... indecent matters.

"How do you know so much about the Gods and dungeon anyways?" Lili asked, her crossbow still pointed at Percy but the latter could see her hesitation or curiosity gleaming behind her façade.

"Because," he paused for dramatic effect, "I was there for it. I was there when the dungeon first appeared and I was there before it as well."

A/N: First chapter done and dusted. I tried imagining how the characters would react to each other and this is what I came up with. Of course, they are ooc because, well, I have to mould the story to fit the overall theme of Danmachi time. Anyways, I am definitely not taking advantage of the dungeon's origin being a mystery to my benefit XD. Hopefully you enjoyed and please drop me some reviews. It doesn't hurt and gives me the motivation to continue this.
