[Vol. 5] Chapter 119
My mind was blank as I looked at Arashi with wide eyes. What!?
I was...
My heart thumped as I blinked at him.
I gasped and asked, "W—what do you mean?"
He smiled gently at me and patted my head as he said, "You are pregnant, Bianka..."
I still couldn't believe my auditory senses as he said, "You're going to be a mother."
And suddenly tears came out of my eyes without me noticing it. I was pregnant...
A child was growing inside of me. Our child.
As my tears flew Arashi wiped them away and once again kissed on my forehead.
I didn't know what I was feeling. I was so happy and I couldn't believe it.
Up until nine months ago, I didn't know I would get to have my own family. I didn't know I would meet a person like Arashi. I didn't know I would find wonderful people around me. I didn't know my life would be so filled.
I was okay with the bland and lonely life of mine. There was no hope or want. I was okay with everything. Every torments, every insults, I was okay with it.
And this one man changed my life.
I still thought what would happen if I had never met him that night. What would happen if he had never come to our house. What would happen if my father hadn't decided to married me off.
Would I still get this much happiness.
Would I still get wonderful sisters like Rei and Rose? would I still get wonderful brothers like Hans and Kairo? Would I get an older brother and mentor like Hiroshi? Would I get Arashi as my husband? And would I even had his child in me?
I started to cry and buried my face in Arashi's chest. Rose was crying in happiness too as Rei smiled gently, a few tears came out of her eyes as well. But we all were happy.
My heart was filled with so much happiness that I couldn't contain it anymore and I broke into his arms.
I said as I hiccuped, "You made me the happiest woman. I could never thank you enough."
He was like a blessing to my life.
Arashi whispered in my ears, "And you made me the happiest man..."
Rei said, "Congratulations, both of you! I can't wait to tell grandfather emperor about this!"
Arashi said, "No. Not now. We will tell them after the marriage since if people know about it..."
He didn't finish his words but I knew what he meant. If people knew about it, they could try to kill the child.
And my heart thumped with worry. I looked at him. I didn't want anyone to harm our child.
I just got these happiness and I didn't want it to stop here.
Arashi looked at me and said, "I won't let anyone harm you or my child. I promise you."
I nodded and somehow I felt so relieved just by hearing that.
Rei said, "Then... We shouldn't tell it."
Arashi and Rose both nodded and Arashi said, "Let us eat now."
And we started to have our lunch as I felt hungry again.
After our lunch, Rose went back to her room since she wanted to work on the present for our marriage and Rei went back since Noya was sleepy.
I stood up to go back as Arashi said, "No. You're not going anywhere. Go straight to your room and take rest."
I asked, "But I still have some work to do..."
He got silent and I knew it meant he was getting angry.
He said, "You need proper rest..."
"What about finishing the work?" I asked.
He let out a frustrated sigh and said, "I will tell Hans to take care of it for today."
I grinned. "So, I can go back tomorrow?"
One of his brows twitched as he said, "You may but you have to be very careful... No running, no excited movements and you have to make sure that you don't eat anymore snacks..."
I blinked. "Ehhh?! But I am always hungry! How will I survive?!"
He gave me a look as he said, "I will tell my cooks to cook healthy snacks for you and one of my men will send you time to time. But no eating outside food..."
I pouted. "Does healthy means only vegitables?"
He nodded and I scowled as he said with a serious voice and a cold glare, "No other food than healthy ones..."
I gulped and nodded as he led me to our room.
I laid down on the bed and immediately I felt the comfort of it welcoming me in slumber. He sat beside me as I closed my eyes and I felt his warm lips on my lips.
He kissed me as I smiled and he asked, "Can you consider not taking Hana as your personal maid?"
I said looking up at him, "She won't do anything, I promise you."
From the ceased brows of him, I knew he still wasn't going to believe in her. I took his hands in me as I said, "Trust me in this, she is not a bad person."
"And how do you know that?"
I shrugged. "I just feel like it."
He sighed and said, "I will still give two more guards around you."
I asked, "Won't that make people suspicious?"
He nodded. "It will but since you are so stubborn, I have to make it look like it is normal."
Well, at first, I didn't really know who the other two guards were until next day, I found two new faces in the imperial office building.
One of them was a familiar one, Shinohara Haruhito, the woman who was the assistant of Duke Gingiro Shimadzu and the other one was an unfamiliar but somehow I felt like I had seen him.
The others in the office were a little wary as Uncle Kenji and Lord Kishimoto came to introduce us with the new members.
He said, "Meet Lady Shinohara Haruhito and Lord Shido."
We all looked at them with wide mouths on our faces as he said, "They both will be monitoring us from now on and Lady Shinohara Haruhito has been a great influence in her country so, Duke Gingiro Shimadzu sama has given us the opportunity to learn everything from her."
We nodded as he looked at Lord Shido and said, "Meet Lord Shido, he is my cousin."
Ah! I knew it, I had seen him around the crown prince, prince Shiroichi and in the family gathering of Arashi. So, he was a family member of Arashi?
Uncle Kenji was Arashi's uncle too so that meant Shido was his uncle too but he looked so young. He seemed to the same age as Hiroshi or Koji. Was he also Arashi's trusted uncle?
He hadn't tell me anything. And what about Miss Shinohara sempai?
Was she also a trusted companion of Arashi?
A lot of questions formed in my head but I knew I only could get the answers from Arashi.
Now that I think about it, in the testimony of priests, Arashi seemed well acquainted with Duke Gingiro.
They didn't talk much but from how they nodded and talked with their eyes, I felt like they were good friends.
Lady Shinohara came and greeted everyone with a gentle smile and then came toward me. She said in a low voice, "Princess Bianka, I will take good care of you on behalf of Prince Rian but don't mistake me for an easy target. I am a very strict as a mentor."
I nodded stiffly as she smiled and went to her chair and I looked at uncle Shido and he seemed like he was already bored.
So, they were the new guards Arashi was talking about?

A/n:
It is historically inaccurate to know the relation between periods and pregnancy. The scientists were still researching on that at that time and Japan had no clue of it.
So, Arashi shouldn't know it as well.
In Europe or other countries, periods had many superstitious beliefs and women didn't take notice the absence of it since women that time were given less food to eat and more work to do. So, they often missed periods or had nausea.
Mostly they began to notice once they feel the movement in their belly or swelling of breasts. Pregnancy that time was on intuitive. Women themselves had no idea if they were pregnant. In some cases, they still wouldn't know until their belly became large and the child kicked.
And there was no test kits either. It was later 1972, the test kits were invented and they found about the hormones of pregnant women.
At that time, periods, pregnancy and giving birth were all a mess. There was no safety and no hygiene at all. Women were treated disgustingly if they had periods and giving birth could kill them and also the miscarriages. There was no surety if the woman or the child could survive. I am just so glad I didn't born at that time... 😱
Anyways, I added that Arashi knew about the relation between periods and pregnancy since it's fictional... XD
