7- 👻Maid👻
Watching someone sleep was not the best way to pass your time. I realized it half an hour later after sitting idly and watching Drishti snoring away.
She must be too tired as she usually didn't snore.
Getting bored and irritated of the noise, I left her room and roamed around her house.
Whole house was dark but there was a faint light coming out of Ishan's room.
'Hmm, someone was awake at this late hour,' I thought and stood before his room.
The door was locked. Hah! That wasn't going to stop me. Going past the door, I saw him watching yet another movie.
There was a comedy scene going on and this idiot didn't even laugh. Why watch a comedy film if you can't even enjoy it? Loser.
Shaking my head at him, I looked around his room. To say it was a mess would be an understatement.
Empty waffer packets, thousands of clothes...okay that was an exaggeration but still there were too many lying around and waste papers too.
Gosh! His maid was going to have a field day tomorrow.
Maid...Shit!! Oh No!!!
'How could I forget about her? Stupid stupid me,' I cursed myself as I ran towards Drishti's room.
"DRISHTI DRISHTI DRISHTI WAKE UP," I yelled at her, trying to wake her up.
I would have shook her hard if that was possible. But it wasn't so the only thing I could do was yell.
"DRISHTIIII," I screamed in her ears and she finally woke up.
"Wha....what?" she scrambled away in fright.
"Hello...it's me again. Your friendly ghost. Remember?" I waved at her, trying to get her alright.
"Oh yeah! Totally forgot that you came back as a ghost," she face palmed.
"Why were you screaming?" She asked in a hoarse voice, having woke up from deep sleep.
"Maid. We forgot about her," I explained the reason behind my actions.
"Your maid? You think she is a suspect? What the hell was she doing in your house so early in the morning? I mean you fought around 7:30 am and I don't think she comes that early to your house to work," Drishti ended her questions with a huge yawn.
"She wasn't there in the morning when the fight happened but she was there in the afternoon when I told you about the fights. She was cleaning my room when I was talking with you on the phone," I explained in a worried tone.
"Dammit. I will add her name in the list. Does she have motive?" Drishti asked while moving to get her diary.
"Wellll...I am not sure. But that's not the problem. My biggest worry is that she is a great gossiper," I spoke, while clutching my hairs in stress.
"Shitt!!! She works in so many houses. Don't know to whom else, she would have talked about this fight. Even if she is not a murderer, there's still a chance that she gossiped about the fight and your murderer heard it," Drishti spoke, sleep leaving her eyes.
"What do we do?" I started pacing around Drishti's room in nervousness.
"We are going to be in lot of trouble because of this one maid. Let's do one thing. I will follow her tomorrow for the whole day and see where she goes and who all she talks to," Drishti said, closing the diary with force, creating a thud sound.
Rolling my eyes at her suggestion, I denied it immediately.
"Like she won't notice if you keep following her. You aren't really a spy material. I will follow her and you will practice the dance steps."
"Are you sure? I can come with you. It's not like I don't know the dance steps. You were going to perform but I was the back up, so I have the whole routine practiced. You don't have to worry about it," Drishti tried to assure me.
"Still. There's only two days left. Actually only one day as it's already morning," I said, rejecting her help.
"Okay madam. I will practice and you will spy on your maid," Drishti concluded.
"Yeah. Now go to sleep. You only have few hours left," I said.
"Are you sure? Is there someone else you want me to note down? I can stay awake," she asked with raised eyebrows.
I smiled sheepishly at her sentence.
"Sorry. I got too worried and woke you up. It won't happen again," I apologized for breaking her sleep.
"Don't worry. I am not angry. You can wake me up if something comes up or you remember something about your murderer. Finding your murderer is more important than my few hours of sleep. Don't hesitate, okay?" She said in a caring voice.
"Okay," I replied with a grateful smile.
I was still worried but having Drishti by my side was a great relief.
