25-👻Disbelief👻

A new hope had build, we had the chance.

"Let's hurry and check out those CCTV footages but how would they agree?" I asked, scratching my head in worry.

"The same excuse I used for Mrunal's coach. I will cry a little more if needed. By the way, we should also check if there was any CCTV installed on the highway. That way we would be able to find out what exactly happened when you clashed with the truck driver," Drishti suggested.

"You are right. Let's not waste time when we aren't sure if there would be this facility available on the highway.

"We should divide the work. I will check if there is any CCTV on the highway while you get your hands on the footage from ice cream parlour and other shops in that alley," I explained the plan and we left.

After walking a long distance, I reached the area where my body had been found, according to what Drishti had informed me.

Fisting my palm, I looked at the area. The words from that policemen rang in my ears but I couldn't even remember a speck of how I ended up here.

I was hoping that by coming here, some recognition would come to my mind but alas, the last thing I remembered was getting hit on my legs.

Turning my head, here and there to look if there was any camera hidden or any sign that stated it would have been placed.

A snort left my lips, this highway didn't have any working street light, we were stupid to think that there would be a CCTV here. These facilities were only for the main expressways.

Feeling defeated, I returned to Drishti's home and waited for her to come.

She should have reached home before me, seeing that the ice cream parlour was lot near than the highway. Maybe, she found something and that was taking time.

I paced around her room impatiently. Finally giving up, I thought to go there myself and see what was taking so long.

The moment I turned towards the door, I saw Drishti coming inside.

She was literally trembling as her eyes looked red.

"Drishti? Drishti, what happened? Did you cry? Why are you looking so lost? Drishti?" I asked, my voice rising with each question.

Here worry was seeping through my mind whereas Drishti was unresponsive. I couldn't even shake her out of her shock.

"Drishti. Drishti, please answer me," I pleaded.

Fortunately she came out of the shock and gave me a small uneasy smile.

"What is it? Did you find something?" I asked hurriedly.

"There was nothing. The CCTV of the Ice cream parlour was broken one month ago and they still haven't repaired it while all the shops near that alley had removed their CCTV's in fear of them getting damaged as painting was going on in one building. I was just sad that we didn't have any leads now, that was the reason behind my current state," Drishti answered, trying to look normal.

Anyone else would have believed her but not me. Her eyes kept darting away from my face, she kept on playing with her hairs. All these signs were enough to tell me that she was hiding something.

"What are you hiding, Drishti? What did you see?" I asked calmly.

She was already scared and there was no point in frightening her more.

"It's nothing. I am not hiding anything," Drishti denied immediately.

I kept staring at her, not saying anything.

She tried to stand strong but gave up after a while.

"What I said was the truth. It's just that while coming back, I thought of something that shook me up," Drishti said.

She was still trembling but now I understood that it wasn't because she was lying but because she was shocked.

"What did you think that caused such an effect on you?" I asked, little scared about what she would say.

"About the suspects who had a clear way to kill you," she answered with a strong voice.

"Suspects? What are you talking about? We cleared all of them. Show me the list, I am sure that all of them were cancelled off," I was not understanding what was going on.

"They weren't in the list. We listed the names of everyone who knew about your fight but we forgot the three main people. The one's who were present during the fight. The one's who gave you a warning," Drishti spoke, her voice and facial expressions taking a dangerous turn.

She looked like a woman in war. Strength, confidence and fierceness bursting out of her.

Her talks were enough to make me understand about the people she was talking but I didn't want to believe it so I asked her to elaborate and she did, making the ground slip beneath my feet. Making me fall on the floor, my mouth hanging open with disbelief upon hearing their name.

"Your Parents and Aman."
