Resurrection

LAURETTE'S eyes fluttered opened, finding herself confused as she looked around seeing she was standing in the middle of an empty road.

Her lips pursed on a thin line, starting to wonder what went wrong on that spell as she started to walk in the direction she could still feel the uncontrolled, wild magic pulsing. Hesitation more evident with each step she took.

What would happen if she doesn't find the reason of the wild magic?

Will her friendly friend the void come back for her?

Speaking of which, Laurette halted to an abrupt stop, breath hitching on her throat as the wind picked up its pace and a soft tremble shook the ground making her slowly turn around, hair hitting on her face as she did so because of the wind.

"Oh, hello, friend...." she murmured, eyes widening slightly at the sight of her dark friendly void (who said she didn't know how to use sarcasm was dead wrong... No pun intended) "Here to keep me company?" She spoke, slowly backing away as she noticed it was getting closer to her, really fast. "Oh, boy. I don't want your company!" she shouted once her feet got dragged to the concrete and picked up by the void making her gasp in fright as she had thought if she didn't give indication she was there, she wouldn't be grabbed

Great idea, Laure. Let's congratulate your dead brain.

Trying not to scream, she tried to get a hold onto something to give her more time. It was no use, she was getting far away from the ground until she felt a hand clasping around her giving a tug down.

Laurette snapped her eyes open seeing a blonde woman trying to pull her away from the void. Suddenly, another guy showed up grabbing the witch's hand tugging harder until the void's grip loosened and with that, both strangers pulled the witch to them almost falling to the ground on her knees if it weren't by the woman.

The woman smiled kindly, pulling her up "There, there" she soothed seeing Laurette glance fearfully at where the void had been, breathing heavily

"You saved me" Laurette said, glancing between the two of them, "You both did. You didn't have to"

The woman simply smiled, "We did. Now, are you okay?"

Laurette, now feeling somewhat calm nodded. "Yes. Thank you" she nodded with a slight bow, causing the guy to furrow his eyebrows slightly, but still smiling a small smile

"Don't worry about it" He replied, and then glanced at the woman "We have to hurry or we won't make it, Lexi"

Lexi hummed in agreement, not before taking a hold of Laurette's arm "She can come with us, Stefan. She seems like a cute little thing" she gushed, looking at Laurette tilting her head aside.

Laurette felt a slight burn in her cheeks, where she clearly could tell she was blushing "What?" She mumbled, looking at Lexi in confusion

Stefan frowned at his best friend before looking back at the Witch they just saved. Was it worth it? Having saved her undead life wasn't enough? Apparently not to Lexi, who had seen to take a liking towards the petite brunette. Of course it shouldn't come to surprise to Stefan, given to know who he really was

"Stefan...." Lexi warned, seeing the hesitation on her best friend's eyes. Now, she could see where he was coming from, he had been betrayed countless of times before. Though, seeing the girl next to her, she had the feeling she wasn't a backstabbing bitch, like Katherine had been

Stefan sighed inwardly, returning back his gaze to the 17 year old witch, who was looking at him with big innocent hazel-brown eyes. It reminded him of someone. He couldn't leave her here.

"Okay. Follow us" Stefan finally gave in, making Lexi throw her fist up in the air in victory ignoring Stefan's scolding look as she forced Laurette to walk with them

Laurette chuckling softly at the woman's antics. It wasn't too long that they were walking when Laurette's magic stirred up, making her frown as she sensed the chaotic, wild magic drawing closer to her with each step she was giving, the same magic she had detected with Alex's spell

"I know you aren't exactly witches, as you don't give that aura but..." Laurette began, breaking the silence "You know what is going on here, don't you?" She asked giving them a knowing look, to which both vampires stopped, turning around to face Laurette. She flashed them an accusing, but amused look

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Stefan denied, shaking his head but looking at the witch's expression he knew she wasn't buying it, so he sighed "Okay, we may know why the Other Side is collapsing, though there's no way to stop this there's a witch who can help us all. That's where we're going" he explained, rather reluctant but with a elbow of Lexi to his stomach made him talk

Laurette nodded, comprehending the situation as they again started walking away "Alright. So....  Where is exactly here?" She asked raising a finger gesturing around them

"Mystic Falls" Lexi answered, small smile on her lips. Looking at the 17 year old witch, she couldn't shake the feeling about meeting her before, but it shouldn't be posible right? She could feel she was sweet and would never hurt someone she cares about and that's the reason she seemed to trust her

Laurette smiled and nodded in understanding "Okay. Lead the way then..."

Stefan surveyed the teenage girl  they met and couldn't help but compare her to Elena when he first met her. A pang of sadness hit him seeing the innocence aura the girl had around her and sometime Elena had it too.

Laurette smiled at the vampires "I'm Laurette"

"I'm Lexi and this is my best friend Stefan" Lexi smiled at the girl linking her arm with her's. "Come on. I wouldn't want to lose you once I saved you. That would mean I saved you waisting my time" she joked chuckling

Laurette chuckled not offended and let herself being dragged by Lexi as they chatted animatedly, Stefan following behind smiling in amusement liking the little brunette's personality

Laurette couldn't help but look in awe sensing the magic surrounding the place, it was a historical place.

"There was a massacre near here, wasn't it?" Laurette asked quietly, looking around. Stefan paused looking at the witch frowning. He remembered the death of the 100 witches but he was once told they weren't there anymore. How could she tell?

"How do you know that?" He asked curiously, staring right ahead as he could now see the silhouette of his friend Bonnie in relief starting jogging to her. Laurette and Lexi following them

"I don't know. It's like a witch signal. Though is barely there, I can feel it was a big historical place on witchcraft" Laurette replied halting a stop seeing the dark skinned girl hugging another woman.

"You're a powerful witch then" Lexi smiled before looking at Bonnie. The three of them staring at the woman walking away to a bright light, blinding light.

Laurette looked back at the girl sympathetically noticing the woman's departure had hurt her but tried to look stronger. She smiled a small smile, proudly

Laurette being introduced to Bonnie she couldn't help but feel she was with her idol. While growing up she had heard countless of stories about the Bennett Witches and hearing everything she had ever done, amazed Laurette

Laurette was standing along Stefan, Lexi, another vampire named Enzo and some other named Tyler were waiting as well. It made Laurette smile to hear they were waiting for their friends for all of them to pass to the land of the living.

Yes, that shocked her.

Having heard Bonnie reassure her that she was gonna be brought back to life made her like the witch but she knew the risks, she could tell bringing a lot of people back to life while the Other Side was collapsing and her being the anchor could take a toll on her.

She had told Bonnie that she didn't want to cause pain to her. That she didn't deserve it

"No. If both Stefan and Lexi, who I know they wouldn't save anyone think you deserve to live, then you will. Okay?" That's was Bonnie told her making her feel both guilty and grateful.

Now here she was, waiting for two vampires, Damon and Elena she briefly remember saying Stefan.

The wind was blowing strongly around them as the Other Side was near it's end. Laurette looking at Bonnie sadly but she didn't react to the girl's gaze.

A witch, named Lucas or he liked to be called Luke ran towards them, worried "Hey! It's too much for her. We need to start now"

"No" Stefan shook his head, "We need to get together. Damon isn't here yet"

Like licked his lips, staring at Stefan for a second before shaking his head looking back at Bonnie "I don't care" he said before taking a hold of Bonnie's arms, passing through her back into the land of the living.

Once he did, he quickly ran pass the ghosts unseen by him towards the Mausoleum to his sister, Liv who was the one casting the spell

Bonnie looked back at the ghosts, desperately "You need to come through"

Tyler frowned, worriedly "What about everyone else?"

Enzo scoffed walking to Bonnie "You don't have to tell me twice" he said grabbing a hold of Bonnie, passing through her to the land of the living, making her groan in pain

Laurette scoffing to herself "Selfish prick" she murmured to herself. Stefan who heard her, smiled slightly in amusement.

Laurette looked at a blonde girl coming to them as Enzo, now alive walked away. Laurette rolled her eyes as Tyler after Bonnie told him it was fine passed through her to the land of the living, making her moan in pain.

Laurette, worriedly looked at her taking a step forward but not touching her yet "Hey, hey. It's alright" she said softly as Bonnie straightened up taking a deep breath and nodding to Laurette as Tyler embraced the blonde named Caroline in relief.

They both looked towards them over their shoulder in wonder as Tyler said he wasn't a Hybrid anymore, only Bonnie seen by them as Laurette was still a ghost. They looked away

"You have to pass through" Bonnie told Laurette, who in return shook her head.

"Not until your friends pass first. You're doing this for them, not me" Laurette replied making Bonnie sigh before looking at the others

"Come on, guys. We don't have much time" Bonnie had to raise her voice over the wind, she raised her hand towards Stefan and Lexi.

The wind blowing their hair back while it blew Bonnie's and Laurette's hair to their faces.

Lexi looked at Stefan "Go." Stefan hesitated "Go!"

Stefan shook his head "No"

"You have to go," Lexi exclaimed "Come on!"

It was then when an olive skinned brunette ran towards them "I cant find Damon"

Laurette looked in recognition. So this was Elena.

Stefan looked at her in relief "You go" he told her "I'll wait here"

Elena shook her head, wind blowing her hair back "No" Elena told him "I'm not leaving without him"

"This place is falling apart" Laurette called out to her in worry, making Elena look back at the only person she didn't know.

"She's right Elena. Go" Stefan told her, desperately.

Elena shook her head "No!" She snapped.

Laurette looked at Bonnie's expression and nodded slightly at Elena. She knew she cared about the brunette and that's why she was there. Elena was her best friend.

Bonnie sighed, forcefully grabbing Elena's arms so she could pass through her to the living land

Caroline noticed Elena now alive and walked to her in relief "Elena. Thank God!" She exclaimed

Elena looked at Caroline, now realizing what Bonnie did and turned to face her, tears in her eyes  "No. Bonnie! Why would you do that? I can't leave without him"

Laurette looked away at the despair and pain on her voice

"Well find him" Bonnie reassured her

"Wait" Caroline said "What's going on? Who's missing? Where's Stefan?" She asked desperately looking around

Bonnie looked at them sadly, starting to cough up blood onto her hand

"Are you okay?" Caroline asked before noticing the blood "Oh, my God. Bonnie?"

Bonnie nearly fell to the ground if it weren't for Stefan who caught her, accidentally passing through her to the Other Side.

Stefan looked around, realizing what he did "No. No. No"

Caroline and Elena looked at Stefan in relief "Stefan!"

Stefan looked around, still holding Bonnie "I was just tying..."

Caroline looked worriedly "What's wrong?"

"She fell," Stefan answered "I was just trying-"

"What?" Caroline asked

Stefan looked at Elena, sorrowfully "Damon. He's not there yet"

Elena shook her head in denial, tears starting to flowing down her cheeks "This isn't happening"

"It's okay," Bonnie reassured Elena, softly "I can do this"

Bonnie started to walk away to go find Damon herself, defiant and determined.

Bonnie stood in the violent winds of the collapsing Other Side

Lexi and Laurette stood behind her

"Bonnie...." Lexi called out. Bonnie turned to face them "This is killing you, isn't it?"

Bonnie looked at them with tears in her eyes, breathing heavily "I can hold on" she told them "I have to" She held a hand towards them "Just come through. We have to finish this"

A man walked towards them, "Not just yet!"

Laurette turned to face him as Lexi elbowed him in the face, pushing him to the ground, falling onto him to keep him from standing, pinning him down on the ground. The man punched Lexi in the face, rolling her over standing on top of her.

Lexi looked above them with a smirk, letting him go.

Laurette's friendly void blew in, sucking the man into Oblivion.

Lexi stood.

Bonnie looked at her, gratefully "Lexi! Come on! It's your turn."

"Every person that passes through takes you one step closer to death," Lexi told her "What kind of best friend would I be if you died before Stefan got his brother back?" She held her arms to her side, looking up to the sky, smiling "You're not going to get me"

A warm, golden light bather over Lexi, making her disappear

Bonnie turned toward Laurette "Now you have to go. If you don't now is posible you don't make it..."

Laurette frowned, shaking her head "No, Bonnie. First your friends. You still haven't find this Damon person"

Bonnie smiled slightly, shaking her head grabbing Laurette by her arms, making her pass through her into the land of the living

Laurette looked around, realizing what Bonnie did, kneeling in front of the anchor when she doubled over in pain "Oh, Bonnie. Don't you realize what's you're doing? This could kill you"

Bonnie straightened up, thank to Laurette's help and looked at her with tears in her eyes "The deal was that you would take upon my offer once my friends were alive so you wouldn't cause me pain. They all are alive now. Damon isn't exactly my friend but my best friend's in love with him. I can't let him die"

Laurette looked at Bonnie with tears in her eyes "You're gonna be okay"

"I know" Bonnie smiled through her tears, starting to feel now the fear of dying. Laurette wrapped her arms around Bonnie hugging her "Just promise me something. You will enjoy your life. Don't purposefully put your life in risk at expenses of others" she pulled away, giving Laurette a knowing look "You wouldn't like the outcome. Besides there won't be other side anymore"

Laurette gave a soft chuckle, looking down "I know. This time for myself" she mumbled looking at Bonnie and wiping a stray tear from Bonnie's cheek "He careful finding Damon"

"No. You're be careful. You're the one with a heartbeat now" Bonnie told her "Be careful on your important mission you have to do that I feel you have to do"

Laurette's expression hardened thinking about Francesca, Genevieve and the Harvest Girls' play on hurting Hayley and wanting to kill her baby

"I will. I promise" Laurette nodded and they smiled at each other through their tears, parting ways

Bonnie to find Damon.

And Laurette to New Orleans to stop a unnecessary sacrifice
