I am very sure he was fed up by the 3rd week of being able to hear my thoughts. His ability had improved though. He could hear my thoughts even when I was climbing up the stairs of the castle to give Her Majesty the reports every evening. And trust me that was quite a distance. He'd tease me about my thoughts when I entered the room.

I made sure I stopped thinking important thought whenever I was within the vicinity of the castle. especially because I didn't want him knowing anything about our strategy. It wasn't that I didn't trust him. I did,but it was an unspoken rule that the topic of our strategies would be off limits.

He must have been fed up with all the curses I muttered and the insults I hurled at him in my head.

I had begun hurling another barrage of insults at him this day and was just getting to my best insults when I heard it. He was sat on the bed again, the same way he always did, but he was watching me like a hawk this time as though he expected me to attack him anytime. He wore similar clothes to his last like he had been doing everyday.

I was smirking at him, knowing he could hear me but his face was neutral. Then I heard it, as I turned to slide my chest piece over my head.

"Swear, if she insults me one more time. Just one more, I'll tie her to her chair and let my Mylidred handle her. But then again, only Lady luck knows what he'll do to her. He might as well just lick her instead of scaring or reprimanding her, traitor that he is."

The words were loud and clear in my ears as though he had spoken right beside my ear.

I turned to him so fast, I had whiplash.

"Kerran, did you say something right now?"

"No. Why do you ask?" He asked eyeing me suspiciously.

"Because I just heard you say something about tying me to a chair and your Mylidred being a traitor." I told him raising a brow at him daring him to contradict.

"Ah... It's a two way thing." He said in realisation, nodding slowly.

"What is?"

"Hearing thoughts. I could hear your first, now you can hear mine." He informed me. "My mother may have mentioned something about this but we might have forgotten through the years. We'll have to do some research on our own."

"Ah...I see. Well, it's about time. Now, what were you saying about tying me to a chair?" I asked raising my brow at him, hands on hips.

He chuckled, getting off the bed.

"I was joking, Nora." He told me, walking up to me, his hands outstretched to give me a hug. I ducked.

"You conniving child. And you make it seem as though you're not bothered when you're just as bad." I ranted, backing away from him. Till I backed up right against a wall.

He laughed. He had me right where he wanted me. I tried to duck to my right, but he placed he eldow then lower arm against the wall, right beside my neck, I tried escaping through the right too, but his right elbow and lower arm were there already. He had anticipated my escape.

"Now, now, Nora, any sane person would not insult a potentially dangerous person." He told me, his breath fanning over my face. He was at least 2 feet taller than me. His height had always intimidated me, when we were younger. Not as much as how neutral his face normally was, but it intimidated me none the less.

Now though, I was weary. His eyes were growing darker per second. I held his stare. I won't lie and say that I wasn't scared because I was.

He seemed to be battling with his Mylidred for control. He looked to be losing.

"Kerran." I called to get his attention. He cocked his head to the left studying me.

I very slowly placed my hands in his chest, feeling his heart this beneath my hands.

"I'm not 'most sane people'. I'm your best friend. I have best friend privileges, as well as love of your life and significant other privileges. So yeah, I can insult you all I want." I grinned at him.

His eyes darkened, and he lowered his arms and wrapped them around my waist pulling me towards him. He leaned in till his mouth was right beside my ear.

"You know, taking into consideration the privileges you listed, you sound rather entitled don't you think?" He asked, his breath fanning over my neck. I shivered. His voice was deep and death, but I heard the amusement in it.

"Are you thinking if making fun of me, because I'm in love with you?" He asked when I didn't answer. "Because if you are, then we're going to have a problem."

"Why?"

"Simple. I might as well start making fun of you too, of course."

"Why?"

"Why? Because you're in love with me too." He said matter-of-factly. It wasn't a question. It was a statement that hut the nail right on the head, but he didn't need to know that.

"I-I-I didn't - I-I never said that..." I denied weakly.

"I know. Which makes it all the more fun because you're lying." He smirked at me.

I gulped. I was scared because his eyes were so dark enough that I suspected he would change to his Mylidred anytime soon. I couldn't be sure what his Mylidred would do, especially with the way he was looking at me. Like he wanted to eat me.

He smiled wickedly and buried hi now's in my neck, sniffing me as he ran his nose along the curve of my neck. I stiffened.

"You smell so good." He told me.

"I smell like sweat, I pointed out.

"No, Nora, you smell like fear." His voice was husky as he corrected me, taking his nose away from my neck and staring right at me with those piercing grey eyes. I gulped again.

"Kerran, the way you're staring at me makes me think you'd turn any second and takes huge chomp of my body. Maybe my legs. I assure I'm not delicious." I tried reasoning.

He laughed. HE. FRICKING. LAUGHED. I was scared our of my wits there, praying he wouldn't eat me, and all he could do was laugh?

Naturally, I got angry, but the fear overshadowed it. I wasn't going to do anything when his Mylidred was so close to the surface. I just stood there watching him.

"You weren't scared all the while you teased me, and now that I tease you back, you get scared. I always knew you were weird." He told me grinning, then landed a peck on my cheek before stepping back. I was too shocked to react.

"But, you're right. I'm close to changing. My Mylidred wants to come out to play. You never got to see him again after that last time. He wants to see you. If anything happens to you, like I don't know, you fainting, I'll blame it on you because I warned you last time." He informed me, then proceeded to take off his shirt.

The pale moonlight shone on his chest and I marvelled are the view before reigning my senses and whirling on my feet.

"Goodness, Kerran! Give a woman a warning!" I exclaimed.

He chuckled. "Sorry, I keep forgetting."

I heard clothes rustle, and then the soft thump of clothes hitting the floor. I crossed my arms across my chest defensively.

"What? That I'm a woman?" I asked bitterly, glaring at the wall in front of me so hard, that I could have bored holes in it if I glared any harder.

He laughed. "What? No! I keep forgetting to remind you I have to take my clothes off so they don't rip."

"Oh..." I dropped my arms feeling foolish.

There was silence, and then I felt a heavy paw on the side of my thigh. I turned, only to meet with a node that nudged me till I fell on my bottom.

The Mylidred leaned over me, making sure it's full body weight didn't rest on me as it placed a front paw on my chest and the rest of it's paws on the floor, with its second front paw beside my arm. It's wet tongue licked my face and neck. I laughed. I had to.

"You're so cute." I told it, placing a hand on its huge head and rubbing behind its ears. It purred and I laughed again.

"So, so, cute. Who would think you're Kerran. It stuck it's tongue out panting and then licked my face again.

I grinned. "Yes, yes. I missed you too. Kerran was being a pain." It's huge grey eyes lightened a bit and it nudged me playfully with a paw.

"I know you can hear me too, Kerran." I told it, trying to muffle my laughter.

We played for a while and I petted and rubbed its fur, till I slept off with it curled around me on my bed, dreaming of a life without war.
