Cody's POV
"I'm hoooome!" I yelled as I came in the house and I closed the door behind me.

"Nobody asked." Natalie said as I walked into the living room, watching her type away on her phone, laid back on the couch.

"Don't be a bitch sis." I said as I took off my shoes and she glared at me. I ignored her and went upstairs to my room. I closed my door then laid back on my bed.

Two things were on my mind, well people.

Ashton and Logan.

Logan mostly have been since what happened last summer. I always think of how I could try to make up with Logan. Wonder if he hates me? All that junk. But Ashton? Nope, nadda, he never came to mind....well sure at first. When I met Logan it seemed like Ashton and I was getting farther apart. Not too much though. But when I started dated Rebecca eventually their was complete distance between us.

So why all of a sudden is he looking at me? I cam say he's changed a bit. He doesn't look geeky anymore with the new hair cut, lost the braces, got rid of those geeky glasses and now wears contacts. Anyway why think about him? He'll just be a waste thought....but I still wonder. What happened to us?

I closed my eyes. The silence surrounding me, sleep about to consume me.

BANG!

I sat up quickly and fell off my bed. I rubbed my head grumbling. What the fuck is my sister doing?

"Natalie!" I yelled.

"What?!" she yelled back.

"What was that?!" I yelled getting up.

"Jay Z cheated!" she yelled.

"Your with Jay Z?!" I yelled in shock.

"No dumbass, he's married to Beyoncé." she said bursting into my room.

"Beyoncé is with Jay Z?" I asked with my eyes wide.

"Your slow and a idiot." she said rolling her eyes before leaving.

"Well sorrrry." I said and huffed.

"So how was the first day of school?" mom asked smiling as I picked at my vegetables and Natalie was typing away on her phone.

Mom cleared her throat looking at Natalie. Natalie glanced up at mom and mom glanced at her phone then back at her. Natalie groaned and turned her phone off then tok a deep breath before letting it out.

"It was great mom." Natalie said rolling her eyes then turned on her phone and began typing away again.

Mom sighed shaking her head. Then she looked at me and I glanced up before looking back down at my food. I moved my vegetables around slowly as she cleared her throat. I met her gaze and she smiled. I sighed and decided to leave my food alone for now.

"So, how was your first day?" she asked still smiling away.

"Just fine." I said.

"Oh." mom said as her smile faded and she nodded slowly. Terrance cleared his throat and mom's smile reappeared again. "You have any news honey?" she asked.

"Yeah, I got a promotion." he said smirking.

"That's great sweetie." mom said excitedly and kisses his cheek making him smile. Mom turned to us beaming. "Isn't it great your father got a promotion?" mom asked.

"Step father." I said picking my vegetables again and mom frowned. A pang of guilt hit my heart.

"Yaaaay more clothes and stuff." Natalie said trying to lighten the mood.

"Yea-" mom was about to say smiling a bit.

"About that;" Terrance said and looked at me. "I think it's about time you get a job son." he said and my jaw hitched.

"Your not my father." I said glaring up at him. "So don't call me son." I growled and he stared at me with wide eyes and so did Natalie.

"Cody Paige Cabot." mom said furiously and I glared at her.

"What?" I snapped making her eyes widen for a second before she glared back.

"Apologize." she said sternly.

"All I did was speak the truth, is that a crime? I have no reason to apologize." I said looking away.

"Fine;" she said glaring more. "Go to your room." she said and I stood up pushing my plate away.

"Gladly." I said and headed upstairs to my room.

I slammed the door shut and walked over to my bed before flopping down on it. I sighed and buried my face in my pillow.

Terrace can never replace Dan. Dan Jones Cabot will forever always be my dad not Terrance Lawrence Stevens. And the sooner mom accepts that, the better for all of us.
