"Appa?" Hana sniffled and asked cutely while looking at her father's face, who let out a hum in response.
The tip of her nose was red and her cheeks had the stains of dry tears, but while her gaze was fixed on Jungkook, some new tears started to form in her wide-doe eyes. Her forehead was covered in her wispy fringe and her lips formed a pout which made it impossible for Jungkook to not coo at her.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel pity for his daughter. He had held her protectively in his arms as he glanced at his daughter.
"Will mumma leave Hana again?" As she fiddled with Jungkook's shirt collar, she asked softly. Her eyes held innocence, and soon more tears started to stream down her chubby cheeks at the thought of not being able to see her mother again.
Without uttering a word, Jungkook placed her head in the crook of his neck and rocked their bodies to calm her down. What could he say now, especially since he was unaware of what was happening?
"Uncle?" Jungkook was startled out of his reverie by Hana's voice, and when he turned around, he saw Taehyung standing in the front.
Jungkook heaved a sigh of relief. Although he didn't know what got Taehyung here, he wasn't concerned about it right now. He just wanted someone to distract his daughter so he could go inside and check up on Sarang.
"I'm so glad you're here. Please hold her and distract her till I go inside and check what's happening. I need to make sure if Sarang is doing well or not." Jungkook spoke and handed over his daughter to Taehyung. "Baby, I'll be back with mumma in five minutes, yeah? Just be good with uncle." He pronounced and pecked Hana's forehead before nodding at Taehyung and rushing inside, leaving Hana in her uncle's arms.
When Jungkook couldn't see Sarang after scanning the drawing room, he strode over to Sarang's room.
Since the time she began staying here, Jungkook gave her another room and Hana had developed the habit of sleeping with Sarang.
He saw that the door was shut. He gave it one knock, but it didn't open. He waited for a moment and after losing patience, he turned the knob. The door was unexpectedly unlocked from the inside.
Jungkook looked at the bed but the bedsheet didn't even have a crease. Just as he was ready to search elsewhere for Sarang, he discovered her seated on the floor outside the door of the restroom. He raced over and knelt down in front of her. "Sarang? What happened?" He spoke in a worried but polite tone.
Sarang's face shot up. Tears began to form in her eyes. "What happened?" Jungkook inquired again and all Sarang could do was shake her head. "C'mon, get up. Why are you sitting here? And why is your phone outside?" He inquired again and tried to stand her up but she again shook her head vigorously.
"Sarang, if anything is bothering you, you need to share it with me so I can help you. You can't just -"
"I got my periods and I don't have sanitary pads." Sarang mumbled lowly, earning a small "Oh!" from Jungkook. He was lost for a bit. He didn't know how to respond to that. He had to make sure that his words wouldn't make Sarang feel uncomfortable.
No wonder Hana got worried when she must have noticed Sarang bleeding suddenly. Any kid would find it unusual.
Jungkook quickly glanced at Sarang again who was staring at her lap. She didn't move even an inch and Jungkook could understand why she didn't. "Do you need me to buy you anything else other than sanitary pads?" He questioned gently, making Sarang quickly look at him with a gentle gaze.
Currently, she could see an angel in Jungkook. If he hadn't agreed to buy her those, she wouldn't know who she could ask to get them for her. Yoona was at work so it wasn't possible for her to get all the necessary things that Sarang needed.
"No, just pads please!" She whispered lowly; her cheeks flustered at the request she made.
This was really awkward for her. She might be attracted to Jungkook, but for now, their relationship was strictly professional, with the exception of the fact that they shared a house for the sake of Hana. Any girl would find it uncomfortable to even bring up her periods or how she felt while having them.
Jungkook quickly rose to his feet and nodded, running outside after closing the door.
When he found Yoongi and Taehyung sitting on the couch and looking at him with a questioning gaze, he bit his lower lip while contemplating whether or not he should share about it or not. After all, the two of them weren't that close to Sarang and he found it awkward to talk about her periods with them. It was too personal he felt.
"What happened to her? Is she okay?" Yoongi asked in a concerned manner. Hana, who was sitting on Yoongi's lap, was also casting a hopeful glance at Jungkook. How should he respond now?
"Umm... She is fine. Just... girls' problem." He informed making pauses between his sentences and quickly rushed outside as he was feeling shy. If he waited to get a reaction from them, he was sure they would have teased him.
Taehyung and Yoongi shared a glance and chuckled. This whole incident was so domestic. It made them feel like Jungkook and Sarang were a couple for real.
Taehyung prayed silently after hearing those words from Jungkook. At least Sarang was fine. Of course, he had decided to let go of his feelings for her, but he was sure that it would take time to forget her completely. And even after he let go of her, he would have a soft corner for her in the deepest core of his heart forever.
"Mumma won't leave Hana?" Hana's words made the two males look at her. They pitied the girl for sure. The way she glanced at them with hopeful eyes made them feel different emotions.
Taehyung got a bit worried after hearing "Mumma" continuously from Hana. What if Jungkook and Sarang didn't work? Wouldn't that leave Hana hurt? Yoongi, on the other hand, was happy that Sarang decided to give Jungkook a chance. He was sure they would make a beautiful family and Jungkook could finally move on from the past.
"No, sweetie! She is fine." Yoongi responded, caressing her cheeks.
"Then why was mumma feeling pain in her tum-tum? She couldn't walk. She was saying ouch ochu many times." Hana bombarded those questions again, remembering how her mother was doing something on her phone and then her stomach started aching a lot. She placed the phone next to the laptop on the table and stood up, walking inside the room.
Hana was left confused and when she was about to follow her, she noticed red stains on the white tiles of the drawing room since Sarang was sitting on the floor while working. As soon as she noticed a call from her father, she informed him of everything right away.
"Your mumma ate too many chocolates, that is why her tum-tum was paining. And that was the reason why you saw blood. You shouldn't eat too many chocolates otherwise you will bleed too." Taehyung remarked, pursing his lips to not let out a chuckle at the lies he was feeding Hana.
Hana quickly nodded with a pout. She realized that the chocolates were indeed not that good. She used to love chocolates but now she had to make sure to eat them less. She also had to make sure her mother didn't eat too many chocolates. She didn't like seeing her mother in pain after all.
"Hana is a big girl now. Hana will take care of mumma." She said with a firm nod and promised her uncles that she would indeed look after her mother like the good girl she was. And the two males laughed at her cuteness.

I still speak tum-tum at times. Your author might be way too old to speak words like that, but she is still a smol baby at heart 😌
I'm gonna show more bonding time between Jungkook and Sarang. And of course, our cute little Hana would make their moments more special. So stay tuned for that.
