"I hate you!"
"Yeah, well so do I!"
Slamming the door, the girl took a moment to process what happened before crying. Most days, it seemed that the two were fighting.
A girl was walking on her way home when she spotted a boy strumming his guitar.
The boy had a black 'Linkin Park' themed T-shirt with ripped jeans and black sneakers. His hair was jet-black while his eyes were emerald-green.
Glancing down at her outfit, the girl was wearing a black floral themed dress with matching flats.
Her red-hair was down, while her emerald-green eyes were engaged by the bright city lights. Curious, she decided to talk to him.
"Hey! I'm Kiana! What's your name, punkster?" Kiana gently teased with a cheerful yet moderate smile.
"Punkster? Really?" was the boy's first response. "Well, you look like a guitarist," Kiana pointed out as the boy grumbled.
"The name's Jackson, but for some reason, I get called Jack," Jack monotony said while holding out his hand.
Kiana awkwardly accepted before waving a quick goodbye and left.
The girl weakly chuckled. "Jack was always the type of a mystery guy," the girl said before another wave of tears overcame her.
Outside of the girl's house, a boy sat on the front porch and felt ashamed. Nearly he was the one to start a fight, and every time got worse than before.
Once, he was close to abusing the girl had he not stopped himself in time. "I'm such a jerk," the boy said sadly as a few tears fell.
He was truly sorry for everything he did. The problem was that the boy developed a drinking habit. At first, it was a few beers. Now, it became margaritas and liters of beers.
The more he drank, the longer he stayed sober. Glancing at the broken glass bottle, the boy attempted to harm himself as punishment before throwing it across the house.
Holding himself closer, the boy began to cry.
Nights passed since their last encounter. However, as Jack called it a night and walked to the park, he overheard yelling.
"What happened to us?" the girl cried, tears streaming through. "We were supposed to be together!" she cried once more, punching another male helplessly.
"You think I loved you? Please, I just wanted to get closer to your sister," the other male firmly stated, as the girl growled. Her face was already red, and the tears continued to flow.
"You're such a sick ba--" she was cut off by the other male pushing her down.
"No one calls me that. You'll always be weak, which is why people take advantage of you. That's why people don't stay with you," the other male taunted as his laughter rung through the boy's ears.
At this moment, anger flowed through his veins. In doing so, the boy smirked. A plan had just formed.
As the other boy left, the boy with the guitar slammed his guitar over his head. "Who's the loser now?" the boy asked boldly before kicking the other male for good measures.
"Jack?"
I'm dead.
Turning around, Jack saw the girl and quickly blushed due to embarrassment. "Kiana?"
Wiping away his tears, Jack made his way to the front door and attempted to knock but hesitated. Hearing mumbles, Jack leaned in closer.
"I hate that I love you."
At this moment, Jack's heart froze. His body went completely numb. His eyes began to go watery once more.
She can't hate me! W-What have I done?
Guilt rung through him as Jack swiftly ran down the steps. Taking deep breaths, Jack tried to control his nerves.
Blinking away his tears, Jack knew that if he truly loved Kiana, he had to make it up to her. This time, Jack wasn't going to tangle his way through lies.
This time, he was going to snap that web of deciving lies. This time, he was going to stay true to his lover. If it meant getting Kiana to love him, he would go all out and personally embarrass himself.
With a goal in mind, Jack took out his pen and wrote a quick note. Then, sliding it through the door, Jack dashed through the streets of New York.
Kiana felt drained and exhausted from crying. Wiping away her tears, she stood up before heading to their bedroom.
Changing into a light blue nightgown, Kiana turned off the lights and fell asleep, not bothering to read Jack's note.
Hours later, Kiana woke up to a knock on their windowsill. "Seriously?" she asked herself bitterly before dragging herself to the window. Opening the window, she lifted the window up.
To her surprise, Kiana saw rose petals which formed a path. Placing on her night shoes, Kiana left through the window before closing it from behind her.
Following the rose petals, Kiana found herself in a forest. Smiling softly, she remembered the day Jack introduced her to his hideout aka the forest.
Continuously walking, Kiana heard a familiar strumming sound as she followed the sound.
Minutes later, Kiana found Jack strumming while sitting on a boat.
Looking up, Jack stood up and fell into the water. Kiana chuckled as Jack quickly composed himself.
Awkwardly chuckling, Jack found himself coughing up water while desperately trying to stop his clothes from clinging onto his body. Bowing afterwards, he held out his soggy left arm.
"Come aboard, Princess."
Walking inside, Kiana never took his hand as she was still upset about their fight.
"What's with the sudden act?" Kiana asked as Jack sadly sighed. "I honestly wanted to cheer you up," Jack confessed as Kiana looked up.
"I hate you," Kiana started as Jack defensively placed his arms up. "I know and you have every right to. I don't--" Jack was cut off by Kiana.
"But--"
"Wait what?"
Jack wasn't expecting her to stop. Kiana pulled closer to Jack as his cheeks flushed with a rosy pink shade.
"I love you, Jackson."
Smiling, Kiana kissed Jack on his lips as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Unfortunately, the moment was cut short when the two fell into the water.
Swimming onshore, Kiana and Jack laughed as Jack retrieved his guitar. "I love you more, Kiana," Jack said sincerely intertwining their hands together.
With another passionate kiss, these two were destined to love each other... Even if they hated each other at times.
