Is it really you?

Wednesday after spending a few minutes restoring her normal physical and mental state, regaining her normal heartbeat very close to death, her neutral expression inciting perpetual murderous intent, and returning her body temperature to that of a corpse. With the faithful severed hand on her shoulder, she descends from the main stairs of her manor, where she fortunately already meets her parents.

"Mother, Father, I would need some tickets to San Francisco and access to our arsenal of anti-werewolf weapons."

Gomez smiles, happy and pleased that his daughter wants to engage in such an educational and recreational activity as wolf hunting.

"My little bloodthirsty hunter, gladly, but I remind you that hunting werewolves without apparent motivation is now frowned upon in modern society."

In the meantime, Morticia is not as enthusiastic as her husband and looks slightly sideways at Wednesday.

"Wednesday....excuse me honey, but isn't San Francisco where Enid lives? So the wolves we can assume you want to hunt are perhaps those of her family? Because I swear little girl, if you are going to sever the bond of destiny that binds the Addams to the person they are destined to love, by killing that poor girl I will do everything in my power to prevent you from doing so."

Gomez, who as usual came later to the development of the situation, looks on in amazement at his daughter, and to cheer him up Pugsley goes so far as to offer him some Pot-pourri, which we do not know where he got it from.

"Don't worry mother, hurting Enid is out of the question. I had a vision, or rather flashes that I did not like at all. Apparently despite the fact that it has not been consolidated in any way, the bond between Enid and me sends stimuli to me in the form of visions and flashes. Enid is in danger and as much as it disgusts me I must rush to save her because something tells me that if she were to perish I would follow the same fate as her..... And I would rather avoid dying because of a stupid little girl who dyes her nails rainbow colors and hugs stuffed unicorns in her sleep."

Now yes Morticia smiles lovingly at her daughter and hands them a set of keys.

"That obviously silver one is the key to the locker with the anti-wolf weapons, but please avoid killing wolves that may be accidentally tied to your partner, maybe they betrayed her or something, I don't know what you saw but from what little we saw of Enid she would still be grieving if her family were to perish in atrocious circumstances."

"I promise nothing."

Two hours later Wednesday finished loading all the Addams arsenal usable by a single person into the family car in which Lurch was waiting to drive her to the airport where a private freighter would transport little girl, arsenal, butler, car, and severed hand, because of course Hand would follow Wednesday to San Francisco.

"Very well Hand repeat the inventory: Silver knives for both throwing and close combat are there; Silver-coated folding halberd is there; Tomahawk with silver-coated blade wire is there; Bow with aconite-soaked arrows present and yes Hand the only weapons or at least the first weapons I will use, will be these electric riot batons.... To which, however, the voltage has been quadrupled, since we will have to fight werewolves anyway a voltage designed for humans would just tickle them. I also have arrows and smoke grenades with an ultra-concentrated elephant narcotic solution. Perhaps it might risk killing younger wolves, but it would certainly stun an adult. However, hand grenades are there, silver shrapnel cluster bombs are there, aconite gas bombs are there. Ultralight armor with silver plates coated with Kevlar is there. I'd say I couldn't leave prepared any better than this. Hand?"

The hand, which at that moment was wearing a super-armored military glove, nodded OK. Wednesday had not noticed how she laughed it off a moment earlier as the girl studied the armor/suit her brother had given her the previous year, after all, the girl did not know that both those and the batons were a faithful reproduction....

So they both board the car and begin what was going to be a very, very enjoyable trip for little Addams but not so much for those she was going to visit.

The trip on the freighter was quite exciting. The aircraft must have been at least forty years old, was held together by duct tape and many good thoughts and hopes. The danger of being close to death by air disaster on a freighter that was not private but illegal put a rather vivid emotion in Wednesday's heart that froze her skin nicely, which made her hope that the trip would be a little longer than it should have been, but the presence of Hand who kept on and on and on cheating and winning at poker against the other stowaways on the plane put her in a rather bad mood, especially because of the stupidity of how those three idiots were being fooled by a severed hand that managed to no one knows how to hide the tricks up its sleeve... Almost literally.

"Very good, we have arrived, Thing were you able to get the address from Yoko?"

I'm sorry Wednesday, but the signal was coming and going on the plane and unfortunately the last message said she was going to try to find it or get on it, but Enid always said she was From San Francisco had never given the exact address.

"And you weren't able with the computer to hack into the school's servers to find the address."

I've had a computer for not even a day, do you think I've become a hacker?

The tone by which one might describe the twitching of his fingers on Wednesday's shoulder earned her a dirty look that surely Thing will not allow himself to respond that way again to his now surely mistress and not friend.

"Very well, then we should do it the old-fashioned way. Investigate. We have partially seen, at least I didn't pay too much attention to it, Enid's family during the parents' day, so if you notice a familiar face, please let me know, we will catch it, torture it and make it tell us everything."

Not to mention, that two minutes later Hand was there ticking on the glass to point out a group of kids running like crazy on the sidewalk chasing a squirrel.

"They seem to be acting like werewolves. They could be Enid's brothers."

I am not sure, it could be, I notice a certain resemblance in the features, although their hands are horribly horribly less manicured than poor Enid's. I can imagine the suffering of having to live with people like that.

"Yeah...manicures aside, come on, I'll get the tasers, you get the net. We need to be able to lure them to a more isolated place where we can catch them without attracting attention. Lurch pull into that alley."

On Wednesday, strong from getting into the wind, she took her bow with narcotic arrows with her.

"Very well, Hand go and throw the grenade with narcotic gas, at least let's start to stun them a little, then I will hit them with arrows."

Hand throws with surgical precision a grenade that crashes into the hidden and secluded alley where the two had managed to lure or rather the squirrel had managed to lure the three young boys by sheer luck of the two kidnappers.

Now that they were coughing and beginning to feel stunned by the narcotic gas from Hand's grenade, one by one they felt a slight sting on their necks, then fell to the ground totally dozing off.

"Very good Hand, let's start tying them up, then we will question them."

The expression on Wednesday's face is tremendously sadistic, aware that the three of them might have blood ties to Enid and that the girl might not exactly agree to torture them but the fact that she was about to seriously torture someone.... put a surprising excitement in her.

Slowly to heighten the suspense, more for herself than for her unconscious victims, she drew from her backpack a rope impregnated with wolfsbane that she knew was enough to keep the three young Wolves quiet and would burn their skins like fire.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh"

As soon as the wolfsbane-pregnated rope makes contact with his skin, one of the kids starts screaming.

"Damn, apparently your resistance to narcotics is higher than I thought."

Hand is panicking, Wednesday is not.

In fact, she quickly draws a dagger and points it at the wolf's throat on which she jumps on his chest and pins him to the ground always pressing the silver blade on his carotid artery.

"See, we haven't met many wolves around today besides you, I know for a fact that there is a pack, I'm looking for my friend."

Wednesday is disgusted with herself by the words she uses and the tone that indicates concern as if she really cares.....because she doesn't really care.....davvero.....

"Her name is Enid Sinclair, werewolf, tall, blond hair with colorful locks and lousy rainbow fingernails, and if your brain is too stupid to figure it out, yes, they are one of each of a different color, that is, one of each horrible color of the rainbow. So does that ring a bell?"

The little boy cries in terror, looking like he didn't even hear Wednesday's words.

Ciaf! Slap. Wednesday delivers a slap that turns the wolf's head. This regains a tiny bit of clarity.

"You are not a wolf I can feel it, how can you be so strong?"

Ciaf! Another slap, this time backhanded, with the back of the hand hurting even more.

"All right, all right, all right she's my sister, but who are you and why are you dressed like the Black Widow from the Avengers?"

she now understood why Pugsley sneered when she gave it to her the previous year and even Hand when he saw her wearing the combat suit and understood why the design looked familiar, she must have glimpsed it in some of Enid's POP magazines before.

Someone will pay for it.

"Tell me everything that happened to her, I know she is hurt and in danger, tell me where she is or I swear to myself that you will not come home alive, neither you nor your brothers."

her tone is so calm and neutral that it is more frightening than any scream or roar.

"is in the woods, in the woods on the side at Highway 53. We were there the other night with our family. She had a fight with mom and mom tore it up. I don't think she is still alive."

On Wednesday to make sure the wolf doesn't turn on her as soon as he is free, she gives him a blow hard enough to the temple to make him faint.

"Damn it, for once I could enjoy some good, healthy torture, it gets ruined by these freaking overgrown puppies, come on let's go, back to the car, now we know where it is or at least we should about know where it is, let's get organized for the search."

In a few minutes the girl returned to her car, this time she did not keep a low profile and cut into the middle of the road attracting quite a bit of attention because of her jumpsuit.

"Hand the next time I wear something like this and I know you knew it is inspired or even slightly resembles something stupidly related to POP culture.....I swear I will skewer you and make Pugsley eat you without him even realizing it's you."

Hand, who had laughed it off the entire time the girl had been wearing the suit, fell silent in terror.

"Lurch drives to Highway 53 they should be about where Enid's brothers last saw her sister, hurry up they said she was hurt by her mother, first we find her and get her to safety then we go werewolf hunting."

The first thing they do is a complete tour on the paved and unpaved, car-accessible roads that passed through the woods the woods, hoping that Enid somehow dragged herself near one of them.

Unfortunately, after 3, 4, 5 hours of searching there is no sign of the girl. The sun was beginning to set, and Wednesday decides to take the freeway again and head back toward town, maybe rent a hotel room and rest.

You can't give up now you can't leave her out all night, you don't know what cold will come down, if she's hurt she won't survive.

"Hand please, I had flashes of her suffering all day. Yet we couldn't find her. We searched the woods after turning as far as we could with the car then we got separated and searched for her on foot, it was no use. We couldn't even find a trace of blood or even the place where the confrontation would have happened, or the slightest sign of claws or footprints. I wouldn't want to give up either but to continue randomly on such vast terrain-"

Wednesday doesn't even finish her sentence, the anger that has overwhelmed her has triggered a new vision. She sees through someone's eyes, and when that person looks at her hands and sees colored fingernails, no matter how dirty they are, you realize you are seeing through Enid's. she sees the girl struggling to finally pull herself to her feet...she sees a road and at that moment, right in front of the girl, a very familiar black car passes by.

"Lurch soon stop the car."

Butler doesn't let up and nails it. Despite not having a seatbelt Wednesday manages firmly to stay in place while Hand ends up splattered on the windshield, albeit unscathed.

Wednesday jumps out of the car and runs in the direction from which she managed to imagine Enid was coming. When she sees the girl, her heart does something she never expected from such a hole of darkness and evil: It glows with joy, her heart at the sight of Enid still alive lights up, or rather, she turns on a light within herself that shines only for Enid. Of course Wednesday is revolted by this new and vexing emotion, but this does not stop her from running to the girl and taking her in her arms before she collapses to the ground unconscious.

"Don't worry Enid I am here now and no one will ever again even think of harming you."

Wednesday arranges strands of hair behind her ear and gently cleans her face, before rising up holding the girl in her arms on her way back to the car, after electrocuting Lurch who had offered to take charge of transporting Enid.
