Chapter Five
They entered the lobby of the museum, which was completely empty. The pillars, floors and walls were all made of white marble, with glints of gold running through them. There was no one else in the lobby, not even a receptionist. It was empty.
"Ishizu." Ryou said, loudly enough that his voice echoed and bounced off the walls. There was movement in the shadows. A woman stepped out from the blackened side hall, the darkness at her back like a cloak.
"Hello, Bakura. I knew you would come. And you brought Layla, too."
"My name is Willow." Willow frowned at Ishizu. What the Hell?
"Willow, sorry." Ishizu corrected. She motioned them to follow her back into the shadowy depths of the hall. Bakura took her hand in his and pulled her along. Willow blushed as the warmth enveloped her hand. She watched Bakura's profile, watching the way the shadows fell across his face, contorting it. He looked darker, more dangerous. Willow didn't look where she was going and tripped over a step leading up to the room they were going to. Willow braced herself to collide with the floor, when the falling feeling stopped. Two strong arms had caught her around the waist. Ryou had caught her. She was pulled up, and brought to eye level with him. "Be more careful, you'll end up killing yourself."He smirked. Layla shook her head, and followed Ishizu into the room. It was dimly lit, but she could see everything. A large stone tablet dominated one wall, a sarcophagus in the middle, other Ancient Egyptian artifacts. Ishizu walked over to a closed glass case, one that had small lights inside the case pointing at a book that sat in the middle of a case. Pulling a miniature key from the pocket of her dress, she opened the case. Taking the book carefully, she closed and relocked the case again. "Willow. This book is a diary. The diary of a lost princess; the Pharaoh Atem's younger sister. She was stolen by a woman at birth, and it left the King and Queen distraught." Ishizu handed the book to her. Looking puzzled, Willow looked at Ishizu quizically.
"Her name was Layla."
