LEYLA COULD LOOK over the entire New York skyline from her seat beside the glass railing. She agreed to go out for a little dance out with Matthew, after much persuasion, of course. Call her basic, old, a cliché or whatever but one thing she absolutely despised was the whole club scene, sweaty bodies and all.
"Whoa! Slow down, tiger." Leyla exclaimed to a slightly tipsy Matt who grinned stupidly, "A little party never killed anyone."
The brunette slid off her seat and smirked viciously, "Alright then."
The hazel eyed man chuckled breathlessly at the enchantress who now offered her hand to him whilst moving her lissome body to the tempo, "Come on pretty boy!"
The two moved towards the outer corners of the dance floor, a place where you could still be in the zone but not pushed around.
"Hope you can keep up," Leyla winked and swung her hips simultaneously as she backed up and yelled the lyrics out.
Astonished, Matthew observed with fingers rubbing the back of his neck, the action made Leyla roll her eyes and pull his arms down to her hips, all while the boy was slightly dazed. Her doe eyes glanced above through long lashes, her fingers resting at the nape of his neck, "Better now, pretty boy?"
And that was all it took for him to pull her in which pulled out a slightly strangled breath from Leyla. A strong sense of Déjà vu coursed through the both of them as Leyla untangled herself to dance in a hyperbolic manner in hopes of easing the tension that now bloomed around them, "This is uh... my favourite song, come on!"
She didn't think much of Matthew's actions because after all, alcohol was a chemical circulating in his system amongst others at the moment.
Leyla also reprimanded herself as to what ungodly power took over her and made her do what she did, she was never that bold with anyone.
Absolutely no one.

The two went for a coffee after because Leyla decided that the hazel eyed man needed to sober up and after a few hours the two were well on their way back.
She most certainly could not deny the light happy feeling that washed over her as she smiled softly at Matthew's sleeping figure, it was like the 90s all over again where he would sneak skittish glances at her from his tree-house or smile shyly during dinner parties; all while she had no clue, or that is what he thought.
When the traffic light turned green she eased into drive and navigated to Matthew's home. "Matt? Get up tiger, we're here." She whispered and shook him gently to which the hazel eyed boy grumbled and turned to face her, so close that there was a dime's distance between their lips, she glanced at his driveway and sighed.
Leyla wrapped an arm around Matthew's waist and tried to balance ungracefully as they walked up to the door, "Come on Matt, I really need you to give me your keys." The hazel eyed man uttered incoherent words as an answer, "Remind me to never take you out for a dance out again."
After getting in, she sat Matthew on the nearest sofa and walked to the kitchen for a glass of water, upon returning she was met with a very drowsy Matthew. "Are you alive?" She inquired dumbly which enticed a wide but wobbly grin from the man, "Yes, unfortunately your verbal questionnaire wasn't enough to kill me."
Leyla stiffened a bit but still swatted his arm and joked around, "So you could hear everything yet didn't think of taking me out of this predicament? You're diabolical."
Silence blanketed itself around them anew. The two smiled softly at one another and during the next few minutes she stood outside his door, waving at him.
While she walked down the long driveway, her soft hands rubbed the bare skin of her arms as the cool air nipped at them. Just as she was a step away from her car, the downpour began causing her to leap the distance and switch the heater at a high temperature in the car.
She looked out of the windshield and through the racing droplets of water, at the house and slowly began to reverse out of his residence. Half a minute before driving off she sneaked another glance and bit her lip whilst shaking her head before driving off with a lot on her mind.
During her drive back home, her brother rang her which was odd considering how late it was, "Staying up late now, loser?"
With a chuckle he replied, "It's a weekend, nerd."
Leyla smiled at the names they called each other despite being full grown adults with responsibilities.
"Baba is retiring," with her eyebrows pulled in tight and lips lightly parted she glanced at the hands-free system. "Is everything okay? He hasn't gotten worse has he?"
"The numbers don't add up again and all this stress isn't good for him, so I convinced Baba to step down," Yusef sighed.
"Don't worry. I'll look into it and come over tomorrow for brunch, alright?" Leyla assured her brother and soon, they bid each other a good night with a simple, iyi geceler.
She switched lanes and stared straight ahead with a tight grip on the steering wheel and a focused look in her eyes. The brunette thought about what was there for the company's future and who this mysterious troublemaker was that wanted to harm them.
The tight grip she had on the steering wheel loosened as she pulled up an arm to support her head while the look in her eyes softened as she stared through the sodden windshield. There was no doubt her older brother would do an amazing job but she knew her presence would definitely be welcomed warmly at the company. Keeping in my mind her father's condition and this anonymous person who had it out for them.
She thought over and over again of who the person could be, but as always hit a dead end as it led to nowhere that made sense.
