You left us, dearest Mickey
Ran across the rainbow bridge
To a place where animal and children spirits play
As we couldn't even properly hold you to
Say goodbye

Too long you'd suffered
We couldn't continue to watch it
So the hardest decision ever was made
Especially during this pandemic
Where we couldn't be with you but stand
On the other side of a glass

Watching, as they gave you the three shots
But as you drifted off
I felt your soul shoot through my body
And rocket off toward the light

I knew then, you were ok
It was the best gift you could have given me
I have since spoken with you
Using my gifts as a high empath, wind elemental, and sensitive
I know exactly where you are
But most importantly I know you didn't blame us

You're healthy, happy, and playing
Today, just 6 days later
We scattered your ashes into the water of LI Sound
Which is a great conduit to heaven
Your mama needed your earthly burial

Though our bodies are depressed and the house feels excruciatingly empty
We each grieve differently
We still remember to laugh
It's hardest for your mama
Because as a non-spiritual person
She can't feel you, like I do

So you must watch out for her, Meeshy
Give her signs she can understand
Show her you're alright
Meet her in her dreams

You were with us 11 wonderful years
A joy that no other dog will ever replace
Though we will look for one at some point
But you knew that
That said, there will only ever be, one Mickey

Thank you for giving us all the unconditional love we needed
Even more than we knew
Thank you to the universe for aligning the way that it did
In December of 2008, maneuvering you into our lives
At just 7 weeks old

We know that, when our souls are ready to head home
From learning our lessons in this lifetime here on earth
You will be waiting for each of us, with that real loud meow
Rest in heavenly peace, Meeshy
We love you and will never forget you
