Remission is not a word
To be taken lightly
Especially from a disease like
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
That has no treatment or cure

Yet through the
Grace of G-d
I am here
5 years
On August 1st, 2020

Had my celebration of life
With friends at a restaurant
Regardless of the times
Victory is in my veins

Each month on the 1st
I count on an additional anniversary
Now at 61 months as of September 1st
As I get further and further
Away from hell
Each day is precious

No matter how bad things get
In comparison now
Actually, there is no comparison
Never again

Celebrating this massive milestone
Even with everything else happening
Is a reminder
That I can do it
No matter what the battle is

I will fight
I will push myself
I will conquer all
And I will win!
