Icekit lay in the nursery. She was about to become a apprentice,but that would be the next day. Her sisters were awake,talking. They're as loud as starlings, Icekit thought, sighing. At last,sleep came.

"Let all cats old enough to swim gather at the tree stump for a clan meeting!" Petalstar's yowl sounded across the clearing. It's time..., Icekit thought,finishing her grooming.
"C'mon,Icekit,who cares about how your fur looks?!" Frostkit mewed,making her fur a mess after their mother groomed it.
"Frostkit,stop!" Snowkit hissed. Why must I have such crazy sisters?, Icekit thought.
"Let's go!" Waterstorm meowed,padding into the clearing. The kits followed,Frostkit a mess,Snowkit not yet done with grooming,and Icekit,looking elegant. Murmurs were heard among the cat's as the kits padded to the tree stump.
"Icekit,Frostkit,and Snowkit!!" Petalstar meowed. "Until you receive your Warrior names,you will be Icepaw,Frostpaw,and Snowpaw!" She meowed.

Icepaw was exhausted. She had just got done patrolling the border with her mentor and exploring the territory. Firepaw,who was also made apprentice,padded into the apprentices den.
