(Chapter Eleven.)
“Jace!”, I screamed at the top of my lung when I lift my pillow up and couldn’t find my journal. I threw my pillow down and ran out of my room over to his door, throwing the door opened where I found my brother laying in his bed, him reading my journal.
“Dang, your poems are so…sad.”, he mocked me which made me growled real hard, running over and grabbed my journal before punching him. He blocked his face and starting hitting me back, but he was making noises since my punches were hard.
“Stay out of my room!”, I yelled, smacking his arm real arm. “God, why can’t you be normal brothers and ignore me!”.
“Believe me, I wish I could!”, he yelled. “But you’re always here, how could I ever get rid of you! And get off me you loser!”.
He was just shaking my nerves up, so I slid my hands around his neck, shaking him, “Keep your dirty hands off my stuff and never go in my room—“
“Why the hell is going on?”, my dad voiced boomed as he came into the room. I felt his arm slid around my waist and he took my off my brother, “Jaycee, are you crazy! You can kill him.”.
“I don’t care!”, I yelled, throwing my hands at my brother to try and get him to shake him more.
“Will I do!”, he said, then grabbed and pinched my ear and I yelped loudly, stopping my thrashing. I brought my hand up to rub my ear and pouted as he step me back down my feet. God, I hated when he did that and knows it. I hate it so much. “Now what is the problem?”, he asked.
“She’s trying to kill me!”, Jace yelled, holding his arm out to me.
“He stole my journal!”, I yelled back.
“Jace.”, my father said in a stern voice and I smirked down at him.
His mouth dropped for a moment, “She said your acting as if your still seventeen and you should retire old man.”, he said in a high voice and I gasped as my dad face dropped. “”Seem like mid-life crasis has come early this year’”.
“Shut up!”, I yelled before turning to my dad. “Your not getting old, daddy.”, I said sweetly.
“Oh, and apparently she thinks people from China can hear your snoring.”, he added and I went to grab and choke him, but my dad grabbed me. “Oh, and trim the nose hair!”.
“Jace!”, I yelled at him warningly.
“What’s with all the yelling?”, my mom asked as she walked into the room.
“Jaycee thinks your getting old!”, Jace yelled. “She said you should invest in some hair dye to cover those gray hairs!’.
Mom gasp and looked down at her hair, looking for gray hairs as she lift the room.
“Jace watches porn at night on his computer!”, I yelled and his face turn bright red as he froze.
“Lair!”, he yelled.
“Your room right next to mine, no matter how low you keep your computer, I can hear it!”, I yelled.
His face turned to horror and I smirked before his face changed, “Jaycee pregnant!”.
“What!?”, me and my dad both cried in shocked and I was more then tempted to continue to strangle and shake him. I can’t believe he would go that far! He such a little lair.
“You little liar!”, I yelled.
My dad turned to me and I could feel the anger dripping off him, “Young lady, explain.”.
“He’s lying!”, I yelled and gave Jace a serious look. “Tell him you little rat.”, I growled out.
Jace face tighten for a moment before he breathed out hard, “Okay, that was a lie, but dad, she was trying to kill me!”.
“Would you to just stop fighting!”, he yelled. “Jeez, I never fought this much with my brothers. Jace, stay out of your sisters room, I don’t want to tell you one more time.”, he said.
“Ha-ha.”, I said.
He turned to me and the grin whipped off my face, “And you young lady, I’m taking you to school tomorrow and I’m blasting my music off.”, he said and my mouth dropped. “Old man, huh? And go apologize to your mother.”
“But—“, I pouted, hoping it work.
“No, go.”, he said and I did as he said.
I walked over to the bathroom and saw my mom looking closely into the mirror at hair, checking strains of it. I sighed, “Mom, you know I was only joking, I didn’t mean it. I don’t see any grey hair.”.
She looked at threw the mirror, “Of course you did, I am hitting forty soon.”.
“But your still very beautiful.”, I said, smiling. My mom was never the one to worry about her looks before and she always had that natural pale beauty look to her.
She gave me a smile and turned around, “I been so worried about you and Jace I never have time for myself. I’m going to spoil myself tomorrow.”.
“I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.”, I admitted to her.
“I know you didn’t, Jaycee.”, she said, giving me a hug.

I walked into class next day and tried my best to avoid eye contact with Cody. I didn't need to deel with him after my drive into school with my dad blasting his favorite band to loud volume that whole school could hear and it was worse then when I gotten my period when i was fourteen and I was wearing white pants. I managed to make it to my seat, but I could feel those cold eyes of his on my back. My throat began to feel like there was a lump in there and my left eye began to twitch uncontrollably as my back began to stiffen.
Not taking it anymore, I turned around in my seat, “What?”, I asked.
“Something interesting about you, Jaycee Russo.”, he said and my eyebrows furrowed together in confused. He chuckled, “Lets say I have this strange gift of just knowing people. Your not normal and it not because your choice of wearing purple high waist jeans.”.
“Hey, they’re coming back in style!”, I defending my choice of jeans.
He crossed his arms and chuckled again, “I can usually seen threw people, but I can’t with you.”
“Uh, thank you?”, I questioned almost. “Nice to know you don’t know the color of my bra.”, I sarcastically said.
He leaned closer to me and the weird feeling came back as my back stiffen, “There are only certain people in this world I can get threw, different people.”.
My shoulders jerked and I only wondered what he meant by that, “Different?”. No way possible he could know I’m a werewolf.
“Has Hermes mentioned me by any chances?”, he asked and my eyes widen slightly. “We were such good friends back in Florida, I mean, until he started dating my sister and he only ever came over to see her then.”
My eyes widen all the way, “What?”, I asked. He couldn’t be telling the truth, could he? This is only his third day, I don’t know this guy, he could be lying. I did hear around him and his sister were from Florida, but I never bothered to think they were from the same place. And Hermes only hangs out with his kind…so does that mean. And Hermes dated his pretty sister?
“Ah, so he hasn’t mentioned us.”, he said. “Yeah, we were all good friends. My sister and I came along so we couldn’t get separated. Lucinda was so happy to see him, they spent the whole day yesterday together, like they never been apart.”.
I made a small gasp sound as I stared at him in shock. He’s lying, he has to be. Hermes seemed so paranoid and distracted to be around Lucinda, but what if that was what it was? Did Hermes not want to be seen around me just in case of Lucinda? But then why would he give me this bracelet I’m so badly suppose to wear?
None of it made sense.
I turned back around in my seat and didn’t pay attention to my teacher at all.
{Hermes}
My wife and I have to give the twins freedom and practice their magic, which means sending them out into the world where they choose. They’re the first sixth generation, it’s important. We both miss them, but it has to be done. We’re glad their in the hands of your family, you all are good people. –Abraham.
I pressed a button to make my iPhone screen black as I got annoyed by the email from Lucinda and Cody dad. It would be true he let them come here for freedom and to practice their magic to be on their own, but that doesn’t happen until we’re eighteen and their both only seventeen. Lucinda got them so scared, their in denial almost. And my parents surely are not in their care.
The door to the janitor room opened and my head snapped up, surprised who could come here. This is was an old janitor room, no one comes here anymore ever since they remodel the school and this room was in the bottom of the school.
I didn’t expect anyone certain, but I was stills surprise to see Jaycee.
“How’d you find me?”, I asked, my voice a little cold. I didn’t mean it to be, but I was so annoyed by Abraham message.
She put a hand on her hip, pursed her lips, and pointed at the container next to me, “I just had to follow the smell of cookies, Hermes. Remember, I have a strong nose.”.
“Okaaayyy?”, I stringed on. “Doesn’t explain why you’re here.”.
“What did you do yesterday?”, she asked, taking a step towards me.
“Uh…home.”, I said, a little confused on why she was asking my whereabouts. I spent the whole day yesterday trying to get in contact with Lucinda and Cody parents by phone until I had to resolve to email.
“Lair!”, she suddenly cried, startling me. She took another step closer to me and I had to lift my head to look up at before she grabbed me by my shirt, lifting me up from the ground as if I weight nothing. “I seen her, Hermes!”, she said.
I looked down at her confused, shocked, and a little amused, “Uh, excuse me?”.
She shook me a little, “Don’t play dumb! I seen her, she’s pretty okay. I get it now, you don’t want to be around me because you already have a girlfriend!’.
“What?”, I asked, my amusement gone. “I don’t have a girlfriend.”.
She closed her eyes tightly, “You don’t have to lie to me, I know you know the new twins, Cody told me.”.
“Huh?”, I asked, reaching up to take her hands off my shirt. “That little rat, I was hoping he wouldn’t do that.”.
Her eyes opened and her warm brown eyes looked up at me, “She’s pretty, I can understand why you would like her. Maybe you used some witchy witch craft to make yourself able to not feel anything for me and want to be with her instead.”, she said, turning around to leave.
“Jaycee, wait!”, I said quickly, reaching out to grab her arm and I stopped her. “That’s not true…Lucinda, well, I don’t know how to explain it…she’s not my girlfriend. Yes, we dated, but not anymore. She’s crazy.”.
She turned to me and looked confused, “What? I don’t get it.”.
“Lucinda and Cody—their witches, just like I am.”, I told her and she didn’t seem to shock to hear it. “Look, I would already be considered in trouble for telling you that, but just believe me when I say I’m not with her.”.
She hesitated for a moment, “Really?”.
I couldn’t helpeing lost in those warm brown eyes of her, they were so pretty and they were sparkling now that she knows I’m not with her. “Yeah.”, I said and a small smile formed on her face.
“I really hate not being told what’s happening.”, she said.
“I can see that, you as stubborn as a horse.”, I said. “Just stay away from both of them, Lucinda really stay away from.”.
“Is she the reason you’ve been acting so strange and gave me this bracelet?”, she asked and my mind began reeling in excuses. “Ha, I figured it out! You broke up with her and now she’s mad!”, she said.
Shit, I thought and I was quick to deny. “No, of course not! Jaycee, your over thinking—“
“Girls do drive crazy over that kind of stuff. How bad did you let her down, I have to know.”, she giggled. “Ooooh man, I can only imagine her scamming plans to get you back and—”
I panicked, I’m usual can keep cool and in complete control, but something about Jaycee just made me panic. I grabbed her by her shoulders and slammed my lips on her to shut her up. It was the only thing I could think of to shut her up or she would have keep going on and on until she realized Lucinda would want to come after her.
I felt her shoulders stiffen under my hands for a moments before they stiffen and her hands came up to my waist. It was one of those long kiss and my head felt clouded by it.
After a moment, I pulled away, but kept my hands on her shoulders and her eyes slowly opened. I swear, I hate feeling like this. Feeling this way only get me in danger. I felt this way for Lucinda and look what it got me. Why couldn’t Jaycee be like every other girl who when makes a sarcastic comment, I can stay away from and never think about again?
