{Chapter Eighteen}
I woke up to something moving next to me. I jerked awake but realized it was Jaycee who had moved. I propped myself on my elbows and looked at the blanket that was rolled up on the floor where she had been last night but she had ended up next to me now.
She was sleeping right next to my waist, her arms and legs stretched out. She was making some purring sounds in her sleep and her little nose moved softly as she breathed. I could only wonder if she was this cute as a human in her sleep.
I reached over and poked her side, making her growl a little in her sleep and she turned on her side, going back to sleep. I couldn't help but smile and poked her stomach. This time, she woke up and she quickly sprang us.
She started yapping and I panicked, reaching up and putting my hand over her mouth, “Jaycee, be quiet!”, I said and she huffed out her nose. “What's the matter?”, I asked, looking into her eyes and into her mind.
You almost touched my lady part, perv!, she yelled in her head, making my eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
“What? No I didn't, I poked your stomach.”, I said.
Real close to my privet, jerk! I should call the police on you!, she said, huffing out her nose again when I let go of her mouth.
“Yeah, go ahead to the police and let them listen to your yapping mouth.”, I sarcastically said and she growled. “Look, I didn't mean to touch you so close, but what are you doing so close to me. You were suppose to stay on the floor.”
I was. . .I got scared, she said and I rolled my eyes. Look, I wanted to be on a bed, not a hard floor! You moved closer to me, so shut up. I'm like this because of you, why would I want to be in the same bed as you? Now take me outside, I have to pee.

Roll the window down!, Jaycee ordered and I scuffed, mumbling how my breath how bossy and short tempered she was being. I rolled the window down as I drove on the highway over the bridge. Jaycee put her paws on the window and let her head air, looking around. Oh wow, I never knew how fun this could be.
“Jaycee, stick your head back in now, people are looking at you.”, I said, awkwardly trying to hide my face as some people stared at the puppy sticking her head out the car.
No, I'm having fun! I can understand why dogs do this, she said, sticking her tongue out.
After a few more minute, I was growing impatient and I reached over, grabbing her by her fur, and pulled her back in. She nipped at my hand but stayed down on the seat as I rolled the window up. Fine, party pooper. How much longer?
“Uh, according to my phone,” I said as I picked up my phone to check. “Forty more minutes.”
Ugh! How do you even know this Carmina?, she asked, chewing at her nails.
“She's the highest generation witch in Vermont. Older then Luce, a nine generationer.”, I said. “I have actually never met her, but I heard a lot of witches and warlock go to her in help. Of course there is a price, but they're always different. Believe it or not, she is seventy four but I heard she looks like she's twenty-four still. Probably magic keeping her at appearance, but with her powers I bet she only has to cast the spell once a year.”
Wow, she sounds vain, Jaycee said.
“I suggest keeping your temper to yourself or actually, just not think at all because she will be able to hear you, it wouldn't be good if she heard you.”, I said. “If you think Luce is scary, Carmina will be a nightmare. She may be light, but with her generation, she can act very dark and lose her temper also. We don't need something else happening to you.”

“Thank you.”, I said as I took the McDonald bag from the little at the drive through window.
“No problem.”, she said, giving me a flirty smile. “Cute dog, what kind is she?”
“Oh.”, I said, looking at Jaycee for a quick second. I turned back to the girl and grin, “I'm not sure, she's very yappy though.”
I could feel Jaycee eyes stabbing into me and the girl chuckled, “Oh, well it's cute. So, do you live around here? We should hang out sometimes.”, she said.
“No, I don't but I sure would like to come back after meeting—whoa, Jaycee!”, I yelled, catching Jaycee as she jumped onto my lap and was about to jump out the window, trying to attack the poor girl. Jaycee struggled in my arm, trying to break free and I looked at the terrified shocked girl. I gave her a smile, “Can I just get my soda, please? Thanks.”
After getting my soda, I quickly drove away and reached into the bag as Jaycee went yappying and yelling in her head how that wasn't funny and how much of a jerk I am. Really, I only did it to get a reaction out of Jaycee, but I hadn't meant for her to lunge herself at the poor fifteen year old!
I unwrapped one of the burgers and laid it in front of Jaycee to eat. She quickly stuffed into destroying the burger hungrily. My face scrunched up at how she was eating, but she didn't seem to care that I was watching. I unwrapped my burger and ate it as I drove.
When fifteen minutes passed, Jaycee yawned and stretched her legs, How much further, Hermes? My legs are getting stiff.
A grin spread across my face and I quickly stomped my foot against the brakes, making Jaycee slid forwards and hit the floor of the car. She whined and jumped on the seat again, shaking her head once, What the hell!?
“You're really bossy when your like this, Jaycee.”, I grinned and continued driving down the neighbor. “And we're a few blocks away, hold your pants—or in your case, your tail.”, I said, chuckling and she growled at me.
We soon pulled up to a old Victorian style house. It was old as it's style, but had nice pull paint that looked fresh and newly bloom roses every, red as blood. I could even see a few blue roses here.
Jaycee stood up against the window, making stupid little jokes at how cheesy and classic the house. I grabbed her thick fur again and pulled her towards me so she could face me. I held my finger up at her, “Okay, now remember you must be respectful. She most likely seen us coming, so she should be expect us. Be nice, Jaycee, you don't want to get in trouble. Her family has been witches and warlocks for many centuries.”
Now Hermes, my mom has taught me to be a good girl. I'm only being bossy to you because your deserve it, she said and I narrowed my eyes on her.
I opened the car door and let her on the floor as we walked over to the iron gate. I opened it and closed it behind me. Jaycee walked ahead and she jumped up on the steps. When I got up to the wooden door, I cleared my throat and I lift my hand up to knock on the door.
But it opened before I could touch it and a beautiful women appeared, smiling at me, “Hermes Robinson, I have been expecting you.”
Whoa, I thought, taken back at the creature in front of me. I chuckled as I looked over her, not believing this women is seventy four. The women had long white hair that had braid here and there like a Greek goddess and her skin was beautifully naturally tan. She had on a white dress that had tiny red roses covered all over. She looked like a southern bell with black high pumps and a jean jacket.
“Wow, I knew you were handsome, but seeing you in person.”, she said, leaning against the door. “And I thought the boys back in my day were handsome in their solider uniform. You have broken a lot of heart with your look, I can tell without even having to break into your pretty head.”
Jaycee made a yappy bark, making me snap out of her lust trance since all I could think about was how pretty she was.
Carmina looked down at Jaycee and bent down, “Jaycee Russo, daughter of Scott and Abigail Russo, granddaughter of Skyler and Kelly Russo. I could probably even keep down your ancestry all the way back to Juan and Daphne. Want me to show what he look like?”, she chuckled, winking at her. “He was really handsome, looked just like Christian Bale. All the men in your family are handsome though.”
Jaycee head snapped up to look at me confused a little and Carmina giggled as she stood up, “I know why you are both here and I can already tell you your trip was pointless, I'm not going to do the work.”
“What?”, I asked as we both completely ignored Jaycee's protest. “Carmina, please, she's like this because of me.”
“I know the whole story and I know the ending.”, she said, looking at the both of us. “You both are mated which almost never happens.”
My eyebrows came together, “Wait, so this has happened before?”
She shrugged and leaned against her door, “It's rare, but it does. Your mom will never accept her.”, she said to me, tsking. “She will respect her, but never fully love her. But what do I know? The future can always change with people decisions.”
“We're not here to talk about my mother.”, I said. “Please, Carmina, I couldn't stop Lucinda from doing this.”
“Lucinda Rhodes, a bratty girl she is.”, she said, making a face. “She use to be a sweet good girl until her friend showed her some dark magic. If she was a mere human girl, she would be considered a schizo, but sadly she's under the spell of the dark. She will go through a life journey, be hooked on it for a long time until she realized to late when she's all truly alone in life. I see another her though, one where she does have a family and isn't alone, but she would have to choose a different path.”
“Carmina, with no disrespect, but will you help us?”, I asked. “I can't do it alone, I wont be able to turn her back to herself.”
“Hermes, your mother choose that name after the Greek god Hermes, messenger of the God.”, she said, just throwing facts out there now, completely ignore my question. “You hated your name, you were teased as a kid for it. But when you hit your teens, you changed your appearance when your powers came. Jaycee, your soul mate, was your best friend as a kid. God, I have never seen a friendship like you both before. It scared you both when you found out you were destine to be together. You know you have feelings for Jaycee, but you decided to hide them because you know it would be wrong to be together but you can't help but feel for her.”
“Carmina—“, I sighed, dropping my head for a second before looking up.
“You know you can't change her back, it makes you feel useless and powerless.”, she said. “I'll help, but I wont have to do anything.”
My eyebrows came together, “I'm confused? What do you mean?”
She smiled, “You don't need my magic, you already have Jaycee's.”, she said.
“Huh?”, I asked. “I don't get it.”
She sighed, clearly annoyed, “Most of you younger generations doesn't know this, but Jaycee's powers are way above yours or Luce. She would be considered seven.”
“What?”, I gasped out. “How is that possible? She doesn't know magic, she just started literally a few days ago.”
“Jaycee is a werewolf, her whole body is filled with magic.”, she said in a 'duh' way. “Her, her brother, her father, and every single descendant of Juan Russo—all of them have magic in them, they just don't all know it.”
