THE TRAIN RIDE

For the three weeks, vampires kept attacking me and the same guy kept saving me then running away. Who in the world is he? Well, I can't tell Noa about the attacks happening to me but I really wonder who he was.

But my greatest worry is where Jun is. He hasn't returned nor makes any contact with us yet. I'm having a hard time to sleep with a lot of things in my head. Then nightmares have started bugging me too. Nightmares about my human death... It plays in my head everytime I close my eyes.

"Andy!!" Noa's voice rang in my head.

"Hey, what's up bro?"

"I heard that you've been constantly attacked by vampires. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well, I've been constantly saved but someone everytime something happens and I don't want to disturb you when I know you're that busy."

"Is Jun the one saving you?"

"No. I'd be really happy if it was him though. I don't know the guy but sometimes... He rings a bell to me like I know him somewhere."

"Well, I can't help you with that guy. Maybe he's your admirer. I'm off again. I hope you'll tell me when somebody attacks you again."

"Yeah. See you, bro!" He left my room. I changed my clothes then I decided to go out. It's been a while since I got out. Going out of the mansion is not safe for me, I know, but I'd prefer to search for Jun because I really I miss him so much I can't bear waiting for news about him.

A lot of people are riding the train today. I could still remember the day I left this place with Jun. This sucks... My eyes are getting watery again.

I sat beside the window where nobody was sitting. I opened the window and heard a lot of noises from outside. I lied my back to the chairs and stared outside with all the people passing around not minding their surroundings.

"Excuse me young lady but is this seat available." An old lady startled me. She had a wrinkly face but her smile was truly genuine.

"Ah! Yes, they're available." Is smiled back to her.

I faced back to the widows waiting for the train to start. I'm not that scared of attacking or staying beside other humans. I still got a human heart and the fact that I can remember everything from my human life but I drink blood. That's a fact. But why am I different from all newborns?

*sigh*

Woot!!!!! Finally, the train started moving. The wind touched my faced and I liked that feeling but when it got stronger, I decided to close it anyway.

"Where are you headed young lady?" the granny talked to me.

"I'm headed to the city. How about you---?"

"Just call me Granny. I am also headed to the city. It's my daughter's birthday"

"My name is Andy. I wish your daughter a Happy birthday granny."

"I wish her too but she's not normal anymore." She smiled in agony.

"What do you mean granny?" her face turned sour again.

"Do you believe in supernatural creatures?"

"If you're referring to vampires, yes I do." Her face brightened a little after my answer.

"I couldn't believe at first about those kinds of creatures but my daughter turned into one. I witnessed her death. She was killed by some crazy guy and drank her blood. I was able to call the ambulance but in the hospital... She turned into someone I do not know. She attacked the doctors operating her and..." her eyes went teary.

"And--?"

"She bit them and drank their blood." We both became silent and we could only hear the noise of the train. "She couldn't even remember me..."

"I... I'm sorry to hear that Granny." She didn't reply anymore and looked outside. I did too. The sky was slowly turning dark. It's going to rain for a little while now.

"I know it isn't my place to ask this but... Andy... Are you a vampire??" She turned to me and I could see in her eyes that she wasn't scared of any bit of me. Her eyes were telling me that I could trust her.

"Yes. I am one of them. I just recently became like them. How could you tell granny?"

"You're much more beautiful than any person I have met. Your skin is like my daughters' but I can't possibly believe you just turned into one if you are capable of thinking straight."

"Me too. Everyone couldn't believe it either and they say I'm like a rare kind."

"So you were killed or did you had an accident? Sorry if I got too many questions. This is the first time I've met a vampire who can think straight."

"It's not a big deal granny. I am also happy to be able to talk to someone about this... Well... I was killed by a vampire but he wasn't the one who drunk my blood" I smiled at her.

"Then who did??? Is it your lover? I can somehow tell in your face." she smiled widely at me.

"Yes, he did. But he hasn't returned ever since I regained consciousness so I decided to go to the city to start looking for him."

"I pray for your success dear. I pray that you'll find your happiness."

"Thank you, Granny. I pray that we'll find our happiness and I hope we'll meet again someday."

"Yes, this ride would only last for another hour but I hope we'll meet again..."

We talked about a lot of things and I saw she was feeling tired due to her old age so I told her to take a nap and I'll wake her up later on. She agreed and smiled again. I envy how she could smile genuinely like that. I starred outside the window again and let the noise of the train repeat in my head.

Where will this ride take me....

Where will my new life take me....

So lost....
