Ashley's POV:

We arrived at school with about 5 minutes to spare, and I immediately got out of the car and walked over to my locker where Matt and Hazel were waiting for me. When Hazel saw me, she slapped Matt who had his earbuds in. They both looked at me and waved their arms, I laughed and walked over to them. 

"Hey guys!" I exclaimed, I gave them hugs and I heard someone call my name.

"Ashley!" I turned around and saw Julian running towards me with the others trailing behind.

"Hey Julian." I said and gave him a hug, I gave the others a hug and turned to Hazel and Matt.

"Hazel, Matt, these are Julian, Hudson, Easton, and Ezekiel. I met them yesterday at the ice cream shop." I said, they all exchanged hello's and then the bell rang.

"Alright then, I'll see you all at lunch." I said and grabbed Hazel and Matt's hands and dragged them away.

"Julian's pretty cute." Hazel blurted out, I laughed at her and shook my head. Matt has been awfully silent this whole time and I just looked at him.

"Matty, are you okay?" I asked him, he seemed to snap out of his gaze and turned to me.

"Huh?" He asked

"I asked if you were okay, are you?" I asked him, he smiled and nodded his head, though I could tell that that smile was fake. I've gotta talk to him later about that.

We entered the classroom and went to our seats. When I waked through the door, I was shocked to see that Nolan was already in class and he was scanning through his notebook. What the hell is happening? I decided to ignore him and go to my seat. He seemed to notice my presence, because he looked up and saw me.

"Oh hey, Le Le." He said, I forced out a smile and sat down on my seat. 

"Le Le, can I talk to you after class?" He asked, I raised an eyebrow at him and he just gave me a sheepish smile.

"Please?" He asked again, I sighed and nodded my head.

"Alright fine, I have free period next anyway." I said

"I know, so do I." He said

"Great." I said sarcastically

Class ended and now I'm dreading to leave this classroom because then I have to talk to Nolan. I don't even know why I agreed to talk to him. I'm obviously just gonna fall into another one of his traps, that fucking pig.

"We'll see you later, Ash." Matt said as he and Hazel walked out together. I grabbed my stuff and stuffed them in my bag. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around to see Nolan.

"Here let me help you with that." He said and grabbed my books that wouldn't fit in my bag. I looked at him confused, he doesn't usually do this. What the heck is happening to him? 

"Nolan, are you good? What the heck were in those pancakes?" I asked him, he chuckled and shook his head.

"I'm just trying to be nice, Le Le." He said, we both walked out and we stopped by my locker.

"Alright, what's up with you?" I asked him, I grabbed my books from his and placed them in my locker.

"Nothing, Le Le. Like I said, I'm just trying to be nice." He shrugged, Nolan Price, trying to be nice? No, just no.

"What do you even wanna talk about?" I asked as I closed my locker and faced him.

"I just wanted to apologise about being a jerk the pass couple of days." He said, I chuckled and shook my head.

"Nolan, I'm used to your actions. Why the hell are you apologising now?" I asked him 

"I just felt the need to." He said, I rolled my eyes and turned around.

"If this is the only thing we're gonna talk about, then I'm gonna go now." I said and started to walk away but he grabbed my wrist preventing me from doing so. 

"Ashley, wait." He said, I sighed and turned around to face him.

"What is it, Nolan?" I asked 

"Are you still mad at me?" He asked looking into my eyes.

"Mad? No. Disgusted? Yes. Now will you please just leave me the hell alone?" I said and yanked my wrist out of his grip and walked away. Gosh, this all sounds like a fucking cliche book. 

I walked away from him and went to the field and sat on the bleachers. This is where I usually spend my free periods, just casually reading a book or just scrolling through my phone, or just study for a bit.

"Hey, what are you doing out here?" I heard a familiar voice ask, I looked around and my eyes landed on Hudson who was at the bottom of the bleachers. I let out a smile and gestured for him to sit beside me. He walked over to me and sat down.

"So what are you doing out here all alone?" He asked

"It's my free period, and I usually just sit out here." I said, he nodded his head and gave me a smile.

"It's my free period too, wanna get some food from the vending machine?" He asked

"Sure, why not?" I said and grabbed my stuff. We walked inside and walked over to the nearest vending machine. 

"What do you want?" He asked

"Oh just some crunch, I love me some chocolate." I chuckled, he chuckled as well and got me my crunch and got himself a drink. 

"So how are you and Nolan?" He asked as we walked through the halls.

"Ugh, don't even get me started. He's such a jerk." I said 

"What makes him such a jerk?" He asked 

"Well he offers to take me out to ice cream and then when he goes to order, it takes him forever. He comes back when I made some new friends with lipstick marks all over his face and neck and his hair all messed up. Then he has the nerve to ask me 'what the hell I'm doing?'. That's just such a dick move." I said clearly frustrated, I looked over at him to see him smirking at him.

"You like him." He said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"What the hell do people keep saying that? I don't like that jerk, and I never will." I said and took a bite out of my chocolate bar. He laughed at me and took a sip of his drink.

"Because you do, Ash." He said, I wasn't able to respond because the bell rang.

"I'll see you later, Ash. I gotta get to Chemistry." He said and gave me a quick hug. He walked away from me and I just stared at his retreating form.

What the hell does everyone think that I like Nolan?

I would never like that jerk face.
