What is that terrible sound?, I can swear I didn't set an alarm for today

I groan angrily before picking up my phone from under my pillow. I know it's dangerous to get a direct contact with a cell phone when sleeping but who cares?, no body really follows health rules anyways.

I turn on my phone and saw that I've gotten eight missed calls from Alec.

Gosh, I'll have to call him back.

"Hello" he finally picks on the second ring

"Uhm, hi, I saw your missed calls, why were you calling so early?" I asked while struggling to get off my bed

"Early?, it's already past eight"

"And that's my point" I replied after successfully climbing down

"Anyways, I just wanted to know if you're busy today so you can.... I dunno...., maybe meet up with me today?"

"Meet up?, why didn't you call later then?" I asked raising a brow, not like he can see me but still..

"Well, I wanted to meet you early....I mean.... I wanted you to be at Veronica's by nine today, your birthday's next week...so I thought......I could....um....take you...birthday shopping?.....if you don't mind that is" he asked and I know he's probably flushing at the other end of the line

"Birthday?, you remember?, even I forgot" I answer honestly, I can't believe I've been thinking so much about Zoe and Eric, I forgot the day I was born

"Of course I remember, I can never forget anything about you....I mean your birthday...."

"Awwwn, that's so sweet thanks" I reply with tomato red cheeks

"So Veronica's at nine?"

"Yes, Alec, I'll meet you there" I reply before ending the call.

I can't believe I'm going to Veronica's, I've always wanted to go there since the day Mum too Zoe there for Christmas shopping and left me at home to 'watch out for Santa', I loved all the accessories Zoe came back home with and I've been longing to go there ever since then and now, I finally have a chance.

I took a quick shower and rushed downstairs, dad had already gone to work and mum was still asleep, I'll just have to hurry up and go before she wakes up. I grabbed an apple from the table and rushed out to get a cab to meet with Alec.

"There you are" I heard Alec's voice call me as soon as I got out of the cab. Turns out he was waiting for me out here after all, I was already bothered about having to look for him when I get here.

"Yeah, here I am" I say as I walk over to him and he raises my hands to his mouth and kisses my knuckles

"Uhmmm...?"

"I'm sorry, it was just a gentlemanly gesture....., I think" he says nervously interrupting me and I give him a chuckle to ease his nervousness

"Come on, let's go" he says taking my hand in his while we walk into the huge shopping mall for pre-birthday shopping, if that's even a thing.

"Why did you think I would need a pre-birthday shopping anyways?" I asked Alec while we...actually I was admiring some of the charm bracelets they sold at the store. They all really looked beautiful but none of them can ever compare to the one I have on my wrist.

"I didn't think so, I just wanted to spend some time with you, I got a day-off from work and I decided to spend it with you and since your birthday was next week and I'm really sure you weren't planning to do anything or go anywhere, I decided to take you shopping today and have a chance to ask you if you would like to spend your birthday with...me?" He asked and I laughed not a mocking laughter just a.....laugh

"You know it's a birthday not valentines right?" I asked still giggling

"Yeah, I know" he answered using his hands to scratch the back of his head, out of nervousness I'm sure

"Well, sure, I'm not really sure how I'll spend my birthday because, it's also going to be Zoe's birthday so maybe we would spend our birthday together, as twins but it that doesn't happen, then I'll surely spend it with you" I answer with a smile

"OK, well, I hate to break it to you but you know Zoe would rather much spend her birthday with strangers than with you" Alec answered, his words were harsh but I knew he was joking

"She's still my sister, she won't do that" I defend her even if I knew I'm lying terribly

"She would and you know it too" he answers smiling

"Touché, OK, I'll spend it with you, now stop saying mean things about my twin" I said giggling

"It's not mean things, they are true" he answered laughing along with me

"Come on, let's go get you some pre-birthday shopping" he says seconds later and with my hands in his again, we went into the clothing area of the shopping mall.

"So why don't you like hot dogs?" Alec asked. We finished shopping early so we decided to go grab some food from a nearby restaurant

"I really don't know, I just know that I don't like it" I replied

"So what do you like the?" He asked again

"Pancakes"

"What if some one gave you a pan-dog?" He asked again this time, raising an eyebrow

"What's a pan-dog?"

"A pancake with sliced hot dog in it, like a topping"

"I've never heard of that, you made it up" I pointed out and we both started laughing

"No, seriously, I can make one for you one day, you'll love it" he continued

"How many people have you made these 'pan-dogs' for?" I asked making sure to put air quotes on pan-dogs

"Well, you'll be the first" he said leading to another row of laughter

We finished off at the restaurant and did a little more shopping before he finally took me home and sure enough, mum was waiting to interrogate me again but unluckily for me, there was no daddy to protect me.
