Day Six

"Sister do you mind telling us who you snuck out to see last night? " Ada questioned with a suspicious look.

Dad, mom, and laura turned their heads simultaneously to face me. It was Independence day and my parents were at home, laura's parents had gone to visit her grandma and she decided to stay with us.

Inner thoughts: of all the times to bring this issue up, it had to be now that they're fighting thanks🙄🙄, so much distraction in this house

Me: you're not even worried about the eyes looking at us

Inner thoughts :Us ke? You mean you. I wasn't the one sneaking around with the smoker 😌😌, I mean David
Amaka we're waiting ooo" mom spat out

"I went to see my friend, his name is David. I did not want to wake anyone and I certainly did not know that my dear baby sister had become the night watch" I replied glaring at Ada who was enjoying her glass of juice with an annoying smile.

Laura was trying so hard to stifle her laughter and I was far from amused

" I remember when I used to sneak around with your mom " Dad started, reminiscing in the memory

Inner thoughts :😩😩please just zip his mouth before he says too much.

Those days under the mango tree, we even shared our first kiss there.I'm even surprised we only had two of you when we got married, with the way things were going on with us I thought we would have....... "

Dad! enough already, I'm trying so hard not to picture the two of you that way" I let out

Inner thoughts :😌😌thank you Jesus!!  Don't let him do that again I almost puked😩

Me: You can't puke you're in my head

Amaka who are you talking to? " mother questioned surprised at my words. Startled, I shook my head vigorously and turned to the television

"I'm just happy that my daughter is making a move towards relationship and all, so tell us is this David handsome?  That reminds me amaka you've not told us about your other dates"

Ada and laura started laughing when mom suggested I tell them

"Were they that bad? Why else would these two be laughing like that.

I started my tale, narrated how they all went and from time to my parents would interrupt me with a roaring laughter
I couldn't wait to finish so that I'd leave them to their movie and save myself from further embarrassment.

Finally, we're here and I still have one more date today"I slipped out before my parents could get the opportunity to hound me with questions.

I was going to meet Johnson who had been discharged from the hospital, he decided to making it up to me by having another date with me.
We talked about so many things, his condition mostly. I admired him for having to deal with such issue and still handle it well
Johnson shared so many experiences with me where he had the seizures and was saved by strangers. Some stole from him while others didn't.

" You shouldn't be allowed to stay alone or even drive, what if you get these seizures while driving? "

"I have drugs that help reduce it but sometimes I skip taking them. I feel it's somewhat unfair to depend on drugs "

It's difficult I know, but if you had taken your medication you would have not ruined our date "

"I'm a cool guy you know, don't mind my epileptic side it ruins the show"

Inner thoughts : Did you know that epilepsy can be inherited, it can be passed on to another person?

Me : why are you telling me this

Inner thoughts :l🤔 I don't know, I'm just saying.

We talked about other things, mostly about me anf why I was single. Some people are not just that lucky with love.
I was really glad I hung out with Johnson and when he left I was much prepared to face my sixth date. Be he good or bad I coukd take it.

David called while I was waiting for my date and he told me he had spent two days without smoking. I was really pleased with the effort he was putting So I told him that I would reward him by coming over to his place.

Inner thoughts : should I be worried about smoker? If you like him just quit dragging me out to see these men stick to him 🙄

Did I tell you that I liked him that way?  Please be quiet. It's not as if you don't even enjoy these dates.

The man who was my date looked so much like a model and I could tell he was loaded even from the scent of his cologne.

" I'm so sorry I kept you waiting, was in a business meeting and came as soon as I finished. My mother actually put me up to this, I  had to shut her up with a date. She wants a grand child "

"I actually understand your plight, I know a girl who can relate" I replied with a smile

Inner thought : He needs to meet your parents 😂😂😂
He was quite handsome and very intelligent , be spoke about the ills of the society, the economy hosted job and every other topic like it was his job to know about them
I wanted to contribute but watching him speak was more appealing so I sat and enjoyed his voice.

The food arrived and I ate with so much gusto. He barely touched his own food but he was making me laugh so hard.

He ordered for a bottle of wine and when the waiter was pouring him a glass he mistakenly spilled some on his suit.

That was when he flared up, i apologized on behalf of the waiter and the waiter did so too bit he wouldn't listen

The raised voices attracted other customers and soon the waiter was taken to the management.

He told them that first the man would clean the one he spilled on his #100, 000 Italian shoes and that the cost of his suit should be deducted from the man's salary.

The waiter's face was quite familiar, he had served me twice that I came there.

I kept begging him to let go and he refused. So I picked the towel the waiter was supposed to wipe his shoe with stooped low and cleaned it.
It was then that I became even angrier than he was.

"You are very wicked!I mean how can you tell them to deduct the cost from his salary?  Do you even know if he makes that much?  How can you be cruel, subjecting this poor guy to wiping your shoes "

I shook my head and left, I watched him come after me but by the time he caught up, the cab had stopped and I boarded.

Inner thought : what a way to ruin a beautiful date😏😏😏im on your side this time. Throwing a fit like a baby who's feeding bottle was taken. I was embarrassed

When I got, I went to the chart and gave him 39%, he would have made more if be wasn't to arrogant.
Gradually it had become a habbit to receive texts from David, and when I didn't receive any that night. I decided to text him.

"Hey, sleeping already? Happy independence "I waited a while for a response and when i didn't get one, I assumed he was asleep.

Few minutes later my phone chymed and I picked it up with such excitement, was even happier when I found out it was David.

He sent "At your service ma'am, happy independence. You must have missed me soo much 😌😌"

Me: Maybe, yes I did miss you but not so much🙄🙄

Him,: I bet you didn't but then why exactly are you texting me🤔

Me: I had a bad night

Him:One big hug coming right up🤗🤗

Me : Thanks that's an emoji hug, I need an actual one right now

Him: One actual hug coming right up, come out of your house you'll see me in about 10minutes

Me:😲 Are you serious?  How's that possible?

Him:I'm a man of mystery 😉, I came to visit my sister and to also see you. You coming?

I snuck out of the house again to see him, wishing that noone saw me leave, I was really craving for that hug from David, maybe just maybe this time I wish his grip is not easy to wiggle out from.
