Kokichis pov

I didn't get time to see who came through the door. Both me and maki both jumped to our feet and ran to hide behind the shelves.

I listened carefully as two sets of footsteps walked in and hushed whispers could be heard.

"I could have swore I saw someone run behind the shelfs"

"really? Ok stay here sidekick I'll check it out"

"please be careful"

I immediately panicked as I heard a pair of footsteps come closer to me. I tried to run away but I was too late. I ended up coming face to face with the dumb face of a kid.

"ahhhhh!"

"whoe calm down. I'm not a bad guy" he said quickly "my name is Kaito mamota and we're here to save you" he held his hand out to me. I gingerly took it.

He led me out where a boy with navy hair and golden eyes stood. He was alot more nervous than kaito.

"this is my sidekick shuichi" kaito explained "go on sidekick say hi!"

"umm hello" shuichi waved nervously.

"so what's your name?" kaito leaned close to my face, making me blush slightly.

"kokichi. Kokichi ouma" I muttered softly. I'm not really good at talking to kids my own age.

"nice to meet you kokichi I'm kaito" he grinned.

"you already said that" I muttered, making kaito blush.

"say kokichi we thought we heard a loud thump in the Supermarket" shuichi spoke up "were you attacked by someone?"

"Well yes but-" my eyes suddenly locked with maki. Her eyes looked so desperate. I sighed "I didn't see their face"

"grr what a jerk!" kaito yelled "attacking a little kid like you. When I find that guy I'm going to give them a fist full of justice!" with that he ran off.

"kaito wait!" shuichi ran away him. I sighed. This guy really has some kind of hero complex!

As soon as they left maki came out of hiding "why did you do that?" she asked.

"hmm consider it leverage" I shrugged "don't tell my secrets and I won't tell yours"

"your smarter then I give you credit for" she smirked "ok then let's survive this together. After that you best be on gaurd" with that she walked outside.

I let out a sigh. Looks like I made some new friends!
