Kokichis pov

I clung to nagitos sleeve as we went deeper into the alleyway. According to nagito this is where the remnants of dispair live. Each one of them is a serial murderer with hundreds of bodies to their name. I can't help but feel a little nervous.

Nagito turned to me with a creepy smile "come now kokichi you can't show weakness here. They'll eat you alive if you do"

I nodded and let go.

"good boy" he petted my head "now let us go inside together"

We walked inside together. I was immediately met with several glazes. Each one of them looked deranged. I took a deep breath and tried to look confident. I can't show weakness here.

"who's the kid nagito?" a man with long hair and blood red eyes asked.

"he's our new recrute" nagito said cheerfully "he's the little brother of the future Fondation member who was just killed"

"you mean the boring one with the love for video games" boring! I was about to rip that guy a new one for badmouthing my sister when nagito placed a hand on my shoulder.

"yep that the one!" everyone immediately started muttering among each other.

The man sighed "fine do as you wish but I doubt junko would want a boring boy like that in her ranks"

"oh I think you'll be pleasantly surprised" nagito smiled as he dragged me away.

"why did you stop me" I demanded "that guy deserved to be told off"

He beat down to my level "you don't want to make enemies here kokichi. Least of all with him. Out of all of us izuru has the highest body count"

Izuru. Chiaki told me how dangerous that guy was. So that was him. A chill ran down my spine. Thank god nagito stepped in.

"thanks for looking out for me" I said gratefully.

"oh silly boy. I'm not looking out for you. I'm looking out for the hope of humanity" he stood up and took my hand "now come along. We need to make a good first impression with junko"
