Chapter 6. First Impressions
Nino's POV
Ever since I have been carrying around that jade bracelet around my wrist, I have a vague feeling that someone's been staring at me. And that someone is Wayzz, in case you are wondering.
I took a sharp intake of breath, shuddering, just as Ms. Bustier wrote down another subject-verb agreement that made my head feel dizzy.
I looked behind, catching a glimpse of Wayzz.
A stalker knows a stalker.
He was a skilled expert, I knew that. He didn't have his book propped up like an amateur—that just throws off everything and alerts the teachers—but simply had his books laid out. His notes scribbled all over them, it looked like a straight A-student.
But I saw his eyes deftly scanning the whole room, hiding under his fringes.
Then those creepy green eyes were glaring right at me.
Okay, he was starting to give me creeps now.
Beside him, Trixie glanced at me and then nudged Wayzz sharply enough to make him twitch vibrantly. He took those creepy green eyes off me and had a silent eye-battle with Trixie now. In the end, he lost.
Trixie then looked at me and fake-smiled at me to reassure.
But it gave me even more creeps.
If Trixie can win a silent eye-battle against a enchanted creature with wisdom leaking from his eyes and not budge, she must be some sort of goddess. Literally.
Alya nudged me by the elbow, "Are you checking out Trixie?" Her eyes were filled with sparkling excitement.
"What? No," I raised an eye brow.
Alya rolled her eyes. "Just an advice, she's not what you think she is."
I opened my mouth to say something. We all have the moment when you want something to interrupt you right? Well, have you ever had an Akuma as your interruption? Because I had and I can tell you all about it.
Sand.
Lots and lots of sand.
It was a massive tornado, all hurtling in the school's direction. It marched right in, cracking the windows, and swirling in the air, filling the air with thick sand.
"An Akuma!" Wayzz yelled at the top of his lungs.
Under the teacher's instructions, the students all obediently followed out and by the time we were at the cafeteria, I managed to lose everyone with Wayzz among the thick sand.
"Remember what I told you?" Wayzz whispered in a low voice.
I nodded, lifted my hand and placed it solemnly on my heart. I took a deep breath. Then I asked, "What do I say again?"
"'Shells on'," Wayzz told me impatiently.
I mumbled, "Shells on."
There was a gleam of green aura and I knew that I had been completely transformed inside out. There wasn't any time to inspect my look or start asking what I was supposed to do.
Because right then, I was slammed by Sandman himself.

Alya's POV
So much sand. So much sand and so little air. I crawled out of the mountain of sand. "I thought foxes were immune to sand!" I screamed to no one as I trudged out of the sand pit.
Trixx should've told me earlier that she would disappear when I transformed.
I just hoped that some kind of fox instinct would kick in and I can perform professional martial arts all of a sudden.
"I am Sandman!" some idiot in the middle of the cafeteria yelled. "And I will bring dust and sand to all surface of earth!" Then the same voice released to gurgling crackling that I supposed was a laughter.
"You're Sandman!" I shouted at him. "But I'm Volpina!"
I grabbed a stick that was fastened to my fox-themed belt and hurled it at the voice.
Oops, bad decision, a strong gust of wind delivered the stick—apparently a flute—right back in my face with a smack.
Rubbing my forehead, I glanced down at the flute.
In the dusty view, I could see Sandman's silhouette waddling out of the building with some sort of cane that looked like a broom but I let that pass as I raced to the exit to catch him.
Bump!
"Holy mozzarella!" I groaned as I glared at the culprit.
"It's not my fault, you bumped into me," the boy exclaimed, throwing his hands up. He had a stupid green costume on with some green shade mask and a shield-like object attached to his back—
"Oh my gosh," I gasped. "You're the new hero right?"
The guy shrugged and scratched the back of his hooded head. "Well, I'm Jade Turtle but—" Then he stopped, noticing me. "Volpina?"
"I'm a real one, okay?" I muttered angrily as I pushed him away. "And you better get going, we have an Akuma to catch!"
"Whatever you say," Jade Turtle sighed as he trailed behind me, looking sullen.

Finding Sandman was easy. But getting to him was hard. There was so much layers and layers of sand lapping on his that it was hard to distinguish him from the mound of sand. I stabbed my flute to a cracked pavement and held on.
"Any plans?" Jade Turtle called over on the other side. He looked relaxed, his shield blocking away the gust of winds.
"Wait for Ladybug?" I suggested. "Or Chat noir?"
Jade Turtle pretended to look at his imaginary watch and shook his head. "I'm not that patient," he cried as he leaped forward, jamming the edge of his sharp shield and piercing through the sand.
Argh.
I couldn't just watch him do all the work, can I?
Trudging forward, I managed to get closer. I squinted as I randomly started poking the Sandman with my flute.
Then Jade Turtle cut in in front of me, pushing the Sandman to the side of the road by jamming the flat side of the shield into his side. "Flutes are meant to be played," he growled.
"I know, I know!" I snarled back.
Who died and made him king?
I fingered the flute delicately. I did learn the flute when I was younger but I didn't know if it would work on a magical item. I gently pressed my lips onto the metallic surface and blew into it as my fingers did their thing.
As music flitted out, something enchanting happened. First of all, I knew from my detailed reports and blogs that the fake Volpina had created illusions with this. So I knew something like that would happen.
But seeing and doing it for real was something else.
I watched as buildings looked like they were painted in pink and as all the cars on the street suddenly moved away on its own.
"How's that supposed to help us exactly?" Jade Turtle yelled over all the slamming and jamming with yak-yak-ing at the Sandman.
Frowning, I blew in another C-minor, creating a bunch of butterflies to appear out of nowhere. Then creating a F-major melody, I managed to make 3 more Jade Turtles.
All of them jumped and yelled at the same time, lunging for the Akumatized.
As the Sandman looked puzzled and confused, I snatched the cane out of his hands and kicked him hard. The Akuma skidded across the street and stumbled over his fat body.
"You can stop that now," Jade Turtle grumbled as he looked at his 'clones' in disgust.
Rolling my eyes, I tucked my flute back and every one of the illusions disappeared. Even the sand had disappeared by now. The sun shone on the clear aired street and civilians started to come out of their hiding places.
"Boo."
The voice freaked me out and I jumped and in the process, I kicked Jade Turtle in the face and both of us sprawled backwards.
"I told you not to scare them, Chat," a familiar and majestic voice said.
My eyes widened in disbelief as two familiar heroes walked out of the rubble with a proud and triumphant smile.
Ladybug and Chat noir.
"Oh my gosh!" I jumped in front of Ladybug. "I'm such a big fan of you! Can I have an autograph? Or perhaps one photo together? I really admire you and you're my biggest role model!"
"Hello, I'm still here," Chat noir said, rolling his eyes. "And please, m'lady is only restricted to taking photos with me."
"Oh, wow," Jade Turtle blinked. "This is really a lot to take in."
"I know, I know," Chat smiled. "We all go through that process. Either way, welcome to the fam. Ladybug and I adopt young heroes from all around—"
"Shut up, Chat," Ladybug scowled, looking sick of his jokes. She put a hand on my shoulders. "You did amazing," she remarked. "And it was awesome to see you do that. Great job."
Oh my gosh.
Ladybug just touched me.
"Hello, I'm still here as well," Jade Turtle rolled his eyes as he slid his shield to his back. He pulled his hood down lower, his hazel eyes glimmering with undeniable mischief.
"Is that titanium?" Chat noir squealed as he touched the shield. It shone in the sunlight, the surface smooth and nice.
"Yep. Coated with a 2 mm of distilled liquid platinum," Jade Turtle proudly said. Then I heard him mumble, "Why do I know this again?"
I cleared my throat and handed the cane gingerly to Ladybug with a smile, "I'm sure you can handle things from here."
Still smiling, Ladybug deftly snapped the cane in two, throwing it away as a violet butterfly escaped from it. I tensed as soon as I saw it but I relaxed as soon as Ladybug de-evilized it. I watched as the pure white butterfly was released eloquently with grace.
"I think you should go now," Ladybug said, pointing at my neck.
I glanced down and realized that my necklace was beeping furiously. I stole a glimpse at Jade Turtle looking with a furrow at his bracelet as well.
"Then . . . time to tail off," I said sheepishly, receiving a proud celebrity-smile from Ladybug just as I dashed off.
I ducked into a billboard just in time as a beam of orange light scanned me head to toe, revealing the real me. Instantly, I felt a whole lot better and confident. I felt secure and safe.
"You never told me that you were going to disappear like that!" I fumed at Trixx.
Trixx simply smiled crookedly. "Deal with it."
I rolled my eyes. Of course.

Nino's POV
As soon as she was gone, I muttered, "That's some very impatient superhero right there." I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes.
"You know you got the best first impression," Chat noir smirked. "Now go catch your bus, me and m'lady have business to take care of." He dreamily looked at Ladybug, who warded that off with a firm glare.
I smiled, "Yeah, see you people later."
Ladybug chuckled, "Hope not."
As I wheeled away, Chat noir called after me, "Tell your Kwami that Plagg says hi." I stole a glimpse of him waving his hand cheerfully behind me.
Jeez, that boy was some flower.
As soon as I slipped into an alley, I was met with a dazzling green bubbles enveloping me before vanishing away, leaving Wayzz in his place with a grin.
"Who's Chat noir's Kwami?" I asked.
Wayzz shrugged knowingly. "Well, just some friend of mine," he said mischievously. "A co-worker more like. An annoying personality carrier, really."
The Kwami sounded pretty much nasty.
"Wow," I cried. "I hope I never meet him."
Wayzz smiled at me sympathetically. "Too late."
"What?" I said, blinking.
"Nothing," Wayzz continued his fake-smile as he steered me off to the street, maneuvering me to my house. Wait, how does he know where I live?
"Okay, I'm good now, you go home," I finally said, waving.
Wayzz nodded, "Remember, just summon me if you're in danger."
I glanced down at my bracelet, which was gleaming with a tinge of red, burning and blazing. I nodded and looked up.
He was gone as fast as a fox.

Wayzz's POV
Nino wasn't bad. I've seen worse but I've also seen better holders. But he keep up with my standards, so that is good enough.
As a Kwami of the wisest variable, it was my duty to train and produce the best of the best Miraculous holders. The most reliable. The most honorable. The most changeableness.
Over the eons, the other Kwamis softened and drew their standards open for anyone. But I couldn't do that as much as I could. I had to keep it the way it was. I had to stay wise.
"You did horrible."
I didn't have to turn around to see who it was.
"You did worse," I retorted with a smirk. "I've seen better animals than her."
That resulted a punch on the back. I winced.
"Don't you dare," Trixx growled in my ear. I reflected that with, "Don't dare me then."
Trixx came around and quietly said, "Do you think Plagg and Tikki actually think it was us . . ." Her voice trailed off.
"Drop it," I said coldly. "It's over Trixx."
Trixx nodded. She knew went to stop her charms when I was serious.
She knew me too well.
ONONONONO
Don't ask me what that was.
Oh and my following system had been a big problem for my past Wattpad life . . . but now it's fixed! YAAAAAY! I'm following anyone that comments on this line right here (p.s. you have to be following me ;P)
