Poem- A Women's Expectations
This is my very first poem and the rhyming scheme was much better than I thought. :p
Now I understood what you meant, Akka, when you said poetry comes to you naturally kusumanjali_akula.

A Woman's Expectations
It all started with talking,
Which I decided to neglect,
Followed by stalking,
Which I found to be misdirect,
Coward he was, tried online harassing,
I felt tormented,
He said it was his form of love called caressing,
I tried to forget,
Goped by men in train,
I couldn't share my pain,
The incident took place again and again,
I became mundane,
These things drove me insane,
I took part in campaign,
All my efforts were in vain,
The incident took place again and again,
I was aghast,
For she protested,
Becoming a victim of an acid attack,
I felt dejected,
I could sense the misogyny,
Which further deepened my agony,
His contempt mocking was a clear indication of male privilege,
My purity is questioned if he sees a hint of my cleavage,
My aunt was raped by my uncle but marital rape is fine,
My character is judged if I come after nine,
I know that it's not a thing that all men do,
But the men I can trust are a few,
We don't need any wishes on Women's Day,
What we want is our respect,
A day will come when feminism discussion will be at bay,
That day it will be practised which is what we expect.
