Star Wars is definitely a top fandom of mine. From the lightsabers and Jedi to the science fiction aspects, it is perhaps one of the most creative, well-executed movie series out there, in my opinion. Today I'll be talking about different Star Wars characters and episodes and inviting you to do the same.

Ever since I've come out as a Padawan under Obi-Wan Kenobi, I've gotten a lot of PMs and DMs inquiring what my favorite Star Wars character is out of all the movies. I have had to meditate on this for several days because this question implies that I must choose a character that is present in every single movie. This, of course, is impossible to accomplish in full since Episodes III and VI killed off many familiar characters, so I'm going to revise the question a bit. 😝 The rephrased question is, who is my favorite out of the old movies?

I'm going to clear up something before I begin: I like the old movies better than The Force Awakens and Rogue One. I think that part of it is that a lot of the familiar characters were killed off in Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi, such as Darth Vader, the Emperor, and Yoda (😟). Another factor is that Disney was the producer of Rogue One and The Force Awakens, which often results in a much different "feel" than the previous movies. While I do consider the new movies to be canon, I generally defer to the old movies, particularly Attack of the Clones, which is my favorite Star Wars movie.

Anyway, that's a lot of stupid stuff to get out of the way. Who's my favorite character in the Star Wars franchise? The answer is Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader.

Anakin has such an amazing yet tragic past that was explored in the first three movies. What I believe made him such a tragic villain was the idea of forbidden love. His secret marriage to Padmé and fathering of Luke and Leia was a creative plot device and twist. While I can proudly say that I do not support his decision to fall captive to the Dark Side, I believe that Anakin is a very awesome character in Star Wars.

Another character that I really like is Master Yoda. I and my family believe strongly that Yoda's character was artificially designed to be hilarious to watch and listen to. Below is a favorite sound effect of mine (the actual sound is at 0:08).

Aside from this, the scene where Yoda versus Count Dooku in a lightsaber match after Anakin's arm was chopped off by the latter was amazing. Yoda's skills with a lightsaber are phenomenal.
