If you haven't heard of the book/new series on Netflix "13 Reasons Why" what kind of rock do you live under?

13 Reasons Why is about a girl named Hannah Baker who has committed suicide and left a bunch of people cassette tapes explaining why she killed herself.  If you get one of the tapes, you're a reason why she did.

First off.  Lets get to the hardcore point of this.  It's a book about a girl who committed suicide and leaves these tapes to people she thought were assholes and wants to make them feel bad about everything they ever said or did with her.  Suicide in the real world? Not like that.  Suicide is not "haha this'll show them I hope they regret everything for the rest of their lives." No.  Suicide is "I physically feel like I cannot live any longer and can't handle this but I feel awful to bring this upon my family and friends."

Now the Netflix show, I've heard is really bad.  Really triggering.  It's graphic as hell and while it lays the cold hard truth, they at least need to put warnings down.  There's graphic rape, self-harm, and obviously- suicide.  Is there warnings for these things? Nope.  And maybe you're thinking "well they should do their research and know what they're getting into!¡!" Did you do a full in-depth research before reading the Harry Potter books? Divergent? The Hunger Games? Nobody full out thinks "oh there's gonna be a bunch of triggers in this" no. They're going to want to watch something they find interesting and hopefully won't be full out triggering.

Overall, I did want to read the book before but after hearing all of the stuff that's happening in the Netflix series- I'm probably not going to. Just for my sake.
