Chapter 8. Well that was ages ago
That was ages ago. 5 years to be precise. Since then I hadn't heard of Joan, or the mug. For a few weeks I was quite worried, but soon I forgot all about it. I'm 19 now, and my life is lit. I got an invitation from my BESTIES wedding. She was getting married to Shaun Lorent, and the reception was at a hotel. I know what your thinking, why? But the answers pretty simple, Shaun's a cheapo. Thank god I won't have to see him often. Unlike when they were dating. It was always, " LETS INVITE SHAUN!!" Or, "OMG I'm heading over to Shaun's. B R B. " He seemed like a nice guy though. I however, am a single pringle in this moment in time. I do like someone, but that's beside the point. This is my BESTIES day. I arrived at the hotel, to find it the worst place ever. The bins were tipped over, and all of the bushes were dead, with very little leaves. Little did I know, it was getting worse. After the ceremony and the speech, we made our way to the food hall. I can't say no one threw up during the other speeches. Just as we were about to leave, a massive crack appeared in the ceiling above the what I call fantabulous cake. Everyone gasped apart from Shaun, who was looking at a dead bird. The crack turned to a hole, and a very pretty lady came through the ceiling. "AGGHHHHHH" She screamed, as she hit the centre of the cake. The manager of the hotel rushed in a few minutes later and said, " Ma'm you are no longer aloud here. I've organised a taxi to be take you... Err.. Anywhere but here. " with that Shaun pulled out what appeared to be a name tag. It was a taxi license! He practised a London accent and jumped through the window. Half of the room was watching Shaun, the other watching the bride Lesli, my bestie. I watched Shaun at first. He jumped into the nearest cabbie, pushed out the driver, and jumped in. When the beautiful intruder walked out, still covered in cake, he welcomed her with a cheesy smile, and drove out. I looked back at Lesli. She was in tears. I should've warned her a bit more about Shaun. I was sure he was checking me out a few weeks back! Oh well, it wasn't Lesli's first wedding. Her 6th actually. I'm used to it.
It was then that I saw something hadn't seen in 5 years. On the side of the room, where the cake once stood, was something I barely remembered, but the memories came flooding back. It was the mug.
