I couldn't wait to see her again, sweet innocent Shina, the one who had become the light in my dark life. She had even been meeting me for study dates after school a few times each week. She had quickly become such an important part of my life that I had even started helping her with the obvious problems she had in her life, even if she refused to acknowledge them herself. After all, I couldn't let my perfect Shina suffer from the cruelty of those around her.

The day she was supposed to turn in her project came and went, both of us eager to hear news on the results of her hard work. Finally, after three days of waiting, she came into the library for our study session with a soft smile on her face. I could feel my face heat up slightly at how cute she looked as she almost skipped towards our table.

"Hi Shina! You look happy about something! Did you get your grades back for your project? I bet you got the top score!" I cheerfully began conversing with her. I could tell by her smile and the pink tint that spread across her cheeks that I was right. She was just too cute sometimes.

"Hey Leon! Yeah! And guess what?! The teacher said my project was good enough he wanted to use it for one of his lectures at the college nearby!" Shina was practically bouncing in her seat with excitement. I could feel the smile spread across my face as I congratulated her. I felt so proud of her. I kept the smile as we brought out our notebooks and began to revise for the history quiz coming up quickly.

It would be hard to keep my grades in History low enough to keep our study sessions going.

I couldn't take it, seeing how some of the students had started looking at Shina. Did they think I hadn't noticed? I saw how some of the girls had started growing jealous of her. Shina was beautiful, inside and out, and now that she smiled they had begun to notice that beauty. But worse was that guys were starting to notice. And I couldn't allow that, not at all. Shina was mine to look at, to love and adore, not theirs. She was mine!

And I would do anything to keep it that way...
