Chapter Thirty-Two
Changing points of view

<Leon>
I had lost track of how many weeks it had been since I had started the search and I still have to new clues to Shina's whereabouts. I had recently begun searching nearby towns, just in case the garbage there had seen or heard even the smallest clue of where I could find my lost love, my stolen doll.
I felt like I had failed her. I HAD failed her. And I deserved to be punished for my sins against her love.
I brought the knife back out and began carving her name into my side, the tears on my face from a pain far more intense than anything physical could ever cause.
--------
<Shina>
I was worried, more so than I had been since waking up in my Eli's home. It shouldn't be possible..... It couldn't be possible.... Could it? No, I must have made a mistake. Or it was the stress! And being so sick before! That stuff happened, right? I mean, it was just a few days... It didn't mean anything.... Right?
Right?!

<Elijah>
I was worried. My poor Shina, my Love, seemed upset about something. Had I done something wrong? I had wracked my mind for hours trying to remember if I had said or done something, anything, that could be the reason for her to frown so much.
When I saw the tears start to run down her cheeks it nearly broke me. I must have done something. I was the only one she ever saw, so I was the only one who could have caused such pain to my Precious.
Perhaps she would forgive me for whatever sin I had committed if I made her something special to eat, now that her appetite had finally returned.

I wandered through the streets of yet another town, feeling lost and lonely without Shina at my side. I had already searched through the garbage of several towns with no luck. I was lucky enough to find enough cash to keep myself fed so far, keeping the extra cash for when I find my beloved.
Who knows what she had been suffering through without my protection... I needed to find her. She needed me after all. She needed me. And I needed her.
I stumbled slightly, the pain in my legs slowly numbing as the black fabric of my jeans slowly darkened, gaining a hint of red as the newest cuts tore open again.

<Shina>
I had finally acknowledged that it wasn't the stress. It wasn't illness either. No, that would have been a kindness that I didn't deserve. But that didn't give me any answers to the questions that had been swimming through my mind since I admitted to myself what was really happening. What should I say?
I almost broke down when Eli opened the door and walked in.

<Elijah>
Seeing the lost look in Shina's eyes, I quickly rushed to her side and pulled her into my arms. What had happened to my sweet Love to cause so much pain? Had I done something without realizing it again?
I began pressing kiss after kiss into her hair as I begged her to forgive me for whatever had I had done to make her so upset. Please don't stop loving me, Precious. I would be so lost without your love, now that I had finally claimed it as my own merely a few weeks ago.
The words that came out of her mouth next, stole the breath from me.

.
"Eli, I think I'm pregnant."
