Chapter Five
Best friends, she only saw us as best friends... But that was ok, eventually I would get her to see us as more. She would grow to love me, just like I loved her. I just needed to take care of a few pests first. How dare they ask her to join our study sessions.
That was my special time to treasure with Shina. And I wasn't one to share my treasures with just anyone.
-------
It took longer than I'd expected to get the stains off my shirt, but luckily I had gotten them out. Sometimes it was useful doing your own laundry, since you learned how to remove different kinds of stains, even the stubborn ones.
I barely managed to make it in time to see my Shina just pulling out her notebooks, our eyes meeting as she looked towards the entry, having been looking for me. I gave a quick grin as I moved closer to the table, pulling my study books out of my bag.
"Sorry I was running late, I had to take care of something after class ended. I hope I didn't worry you?" I reached over and gave her a quick hug before taking the seat next to her. The red tint rushed over her cheeks was just too cute not to give a small laugh at.
"N-no, it's fine! I just got here myself, so everything is ok!" Shina, even when you stumble over your words a bit, you end up sounding perfect to me. "So, lets go over what they covered in class today. Did your English teacher give you the same essay mine did? 5 pages on the works of Edger Allen Poe?"
"Yes. I was hoping you had a copy of the book? I'm afraid I was never into his writing. A bit dark for my tastes," I told her. Not exactly the truth, but if it meant I got to read the book with her... I would just get rid of my copy of his book, then it would at least be a bit less of a lie.
I moved my seat closer to hers as she moved hers between us, always so willing to share with me. As we read the book together, I took every opportunity to brush against her side, touching her hand when I wanted to get her attention.
Shina, my Shina, oh how you torture me so sweetly with that innocent blush of yours.
--------
I barely resisted smiling as I walked down the halls, hearing the students gossiping about how a couple of students had seemingly run away from home a few days ago. Oh how easy they all made things for me. I was more than happy to let them help cover my tracks. This way my sweet Shina would remain gleefully innocent of what I had done for her. And I wouldn't have to share her time with anyone.
I continued walking to the library, a warmth spreading in my chest as I thought of how cutely she blushed yesterday when I pressed my lips against her cheek after walking her home. Every step brought me closer to winning her heart. And then she would be mine, forever.
