New

Its never fun being the new kid. After my mom passed away, my dad's mental and physical health started to deteriorate. He started drinking, he doesnt shower, he cant keep a job or a house. And...well...he blames me. He even blames me for my sister leaving, which was obviously his fault. Hes the one that angered her. When she tried to get custody over me, my father pulled the pity card, saying how "I was the only thing left for him to remember his beloved wife." The judges couldnt see anything wrong with him so they refused to allow my sister custody.

Anyway, back to what I was saying before, this is the 7th new school ive been to. I figured it would be about a month or so until we had to move again, so I didnt really care to make friends. The Principal told me about the school and took me on a tour. Apparently this school was one with many different nationalities. For starters, he had a strong, German accent. He mentioned his two sons who go to school here too, Ludwig and Gilbert Beilschmidt.

After the tour, Mr. Beilschmidt brought me to my first class, which was Math. He mentioned that i had the same class as Ludwig, which seemed to excite him quite a bit. He was a fairly serious, but easy going person, which was nice. When we got to the class, Mr. Beilschmidt chatted with the teacher a little before turning to the class.

"Alright everyone! This is your new classmate (y/n) (l/n)! I expect you all to make her feel at home here! And Ludwig, I want you to help her out, alright? I tried putting you two in the same classes!" Mr. Beilshmidt mentioned. A tall, very muscular man with slicked back blonde hair and the most beautiful blue eyes nodded to the principal. That must be Ludwig.

"Now (Y/N), that over there is Ludwig. Go sit with him! Im sure you two would make great friends!" Mr. Beilschmidt suggested, pointing to who I already figured was Ludwig. Having a friend is a nice thought, but kind of worthless.

I walked over to Ludwig and sat in the empty seat next to him. It was in the back of the class next to the window. Mr. Beilschmidt left and the teacher started her lesson. Math may not be the most entertaning thing in the world, but it was one of my strongest subjects. I listened intently to the teacher as she talked. I did notice that Ludwig was paying attention too while most of the other students either goofed off or slept. Finally, the teacher finished the lesson and gave us time to work on our homework. Ludwig turned to me with a kind smile.

"Is there anything you need help with or dont understand?" He questioned. I smiled and shook my head with a small laugh. Just because I dont want friends doesnt mean I should be mean.

"No, this is pretty easy stuff!" I replied, earning a small laugh from him. I must say, his laugh was a gorgeous one. And that accent was to die for.

"Thats a shock! Most people in this class have a hard time and usually ask me for help!" Ludwig explained. I chuckle with a nod.

"I mean, I dont blame them! Math is one of those subjects that takes a special kind of person to understand!" I mentioned. Ludwig nodded in agreement with a smile. Ludwig still offered to do our homework together, which I agreed. We decided to split it, so id do the first half of the questions while he did the second half and share answers. That way, if we are confused how the other got an answer, they could explain it. We got done in no time and still had a little time before the bell rang.

"So, where are you from?" Ludwig questioned. I let out a small sigh but shrugged it off.

"Im from (home town). But my dad and I have been moving around quite a bit lately. I dont expect us to stay here for very long." I admitted without giving out too much detail.

"Its just you and your dad?" Ludwig asked. I nodded slightly with a fake smile. I knew ludwig could see past my smile, but he was kind enough not to push me with questions.

"Dont you miss your friends from your past schools?" Ludwig asked, slight concern laced his voice. I just shrugged and shook my head.

"I knew I wasnt going to stay for long, so I didnt make any friends. Thats what I plan here too. Though I did make a couple friends in the first school I was at. I do miss them quite a bit...but I keep in contact with them!" I explained. I saw a frown form on Ludwigs lips.

"You dont want more friends?" Ludwig questioned, the frown still prevalent. I shook my head.

"I dont see the point. This is the 7th school ive been to. If I kept making friends, id just upset myself every time I had to leave. Plus by now id have too many friends. I dont really like to surround myself with many people" I admitted. Ludwig nodded, a little dissapointed, but a second later, a small smile grew on his face.

"Well...even if you dont want to be friends, I still think you should hang out with me and my friends! This way you arent completely alone! Besides, you dont know how long you'll be here! You may be here for a while and might regret not making friends!" Ludwig suggested. He did make a good point. It all depends on how dumb my dad is. I thought about it for a moment before shrugging.

"Alright, I might as well. But it'll be your fault if I get attatched to you and your friends" I teased with a laugh. Ludwig laughed as well with a nod. Suddenly the bell rang and we packed up our things. I got out my schedule and looked at it.

"Mien vater said he put us in most of the same classes." Ludwig mentioned as he looked over my shoulder at my schedule. Up next was...weightlifting.

"Oh boy...i have absolutely no upper arm strength" I admitted with a nervous laugh. Ludwig but a hand on my shoulder reassuringly.

"Dont worry! I'll be your spotter!" Ludwig offered. I stared at him with a blank expression, indicating that I have no idea what he meant. He laughed and motioned for me to follow him to class.

"I'll spot you, which means I'll be there to help you if you struggle. Basically a spotter is someone who is there to make sure you do it right and dont hurt yourself!" Ludwig suggested. I let out a small "oh" before thanking him. He nodded with a smile as we walked into the classroom. We had to start in a regular classroom before we went to the weight room.
