The next morning rolled on by, but this time Lukas was not feeling too well. Because of yesterday's excursion with Dropscythe, he couldn't help but stay up, stressed the whole night trying to figure out a way to communicate with him. He wanted to thank him properly, but also make up for the anger he had caused for him. He was told by Tanigo that he needed to focus on building bonds with the people within his class, but it was never easy for Lukas in the first place.

He was sitting in the Homeroom class, fast asleep with his head dug into his arms. Ina noticed this as much as Zai, but since Zai was busy talking with others as per usual, she decided to go up to him herself. She walked calmly and arrived to his table, tapping his shoulder with her one finger.

Ina: "Hey Lukas.."

Lukas slowly woke up, his eyes being a little sleepy but he was awake nonetheless.

Lukas: "Oh.. Hey Ina.."

Ina: "You didn't get much sleep last night?"

Lukas: "Yeah... Was up all night thinking about Dropscythe... I wanted to talk to him but... He made things a bit more difficult is all..."

Ina: "I see. Mind if I teach you a Magic trick?"

Lukas: "What kind..?"

Ina: "Hold still please."

She then put her hand on his shoulder, allowing some energy that formed on her hand into his body, which in the end, he felt more energised than before. He was surprised by this.

Lukas: "Woah... What did you do..?"

Ina: "I revigorated you back to your energetic self. It is a simple trick we can do. I could teach you sometime if you like."

Lukas: "That would be great thank you."

Sonzai: "Hey you two! What you all talking about?"

Zai then appeared behind the two, startling the two of them at the same time. They were both able to relax and Ina was the first to speak up.

Ina: "I noticed him being really tired so I helped him out."

Lukas: "She made me feel revigorated now."

Sonzai: "I see, well Lukas I got some interesting news to share about this month. You are aware of what month it is right?"

Lukas: "Yeah.."

Sonzai: "This month we are holding a particular event on Valentine's Day because the cofounders wanted to bring everyone from the first years to the third years together since there will be no teaching. You going to come along that day?"

Lukas: "I think I will pass on that.."

Ina: "Really? Why wouldn't you go? You could get some experience with some of the other students."

Lukas: "Look... I appreciate the offer but.. Social events aren't for me.."

Sonzai: "I see. Very well, I'll leave you at home that day then."

Then Akuma-Sensei entered the classroom and everyone took their seats. The lesson went on by as usual but it ended earlier than usual because of what the teachers had in mind for the whole class 1A. They apparently already did this particular thing with 1B and 1C. 

The students of 1A went outside the building in the front, with the teachers being Akuma-Sensei, Yamino-Sensei and Zentreya.

Vox: "Alright ladies and gentlemen, this will be a special occasion since we usually only hold this once for each class for you all to get an understanding on where you are."

Shu: "We will be testing you against each other in what we would like to call Combat Duels."

Lukas was getting a really bad feeling about this since he may have been training for a month on how to harness his Magic, but he was unsure if he could even face anyone in his class.

Zentreya: "I will be analysing your faults and your weaknesses while you all face each other head on."

Shu: "However here isn't exactly the best place to do it since you are restricted by the laws. So we will be taking this elsewhere."

Yamino-Sensei then started to create a circle underneath everybody along with themselves. A bright purple glow blinded all the students. One moment they were in front of the Academy, the next they were inside some form of arena. To Lukas this could be considered like a Colosseum from the Roman Empire days. Everyone was amazed by this sudden surprise. 

Shu: "I know you all may be interested in this place, so I will tell you exactly what this place is. This place is a domain created by the people known as the Council to test us time and time again to see how far we as the Supernatural can go. This place was inspired thanks to the Guardian of Civilization and her vast knowledge of human history. Here we will be testing you under no proper restrictions except for the condition that you aren't allowed to kill each other."

Lukas got the idea that essentially everyone can go all out with what they know so far, as well as not use their Glamour anymore during their time here. So some of the students got the idea, being told to remove their Glamour, for those who had to use it anyways. Everyone was interested in their classmates, but however, what happens next was not what Lukas expected.

Zentreya: "Now that you all got acquainted with your true selves, you will all now step on forward and grab your name out of this particular box that Vox Akuma had prepared. The name that you pull will be your sparing partner. Each partner that was chosen won't need to select from the box. The system that is above everyone at the very top of the arena will show who they have drawn."

She says this gesturing to the box and then gesturing towards the giant television prompter that is above the arena floating there like as if it was made out of pure Magic. 

Zentreya: "Now all of you come up one by one. You aren't allowed to look at the names because the screen will show you exactly who you will be facing."

One by one each student stepped up, pulling from the box. In the end, Lukas looked up at the screen to see the following results appear on the giant screen.

 Enna: "Wait, there were twenty one of us? The fuck..?"

The teachers even realized this, making them realize somehow that they didn't know that there were 21 students in class 1A. 

Shu: "Well I apologise Young Allouette, but we didn't notice this predicament.. Which in honestly makes us a little stupid. But no matter, you can watch from the side lines and learn from there okay?"

Enna just nods her head in understanding, yet Lukas didn't realize this either, possibly because he didn't care about the number of students in the class. But what made him sick to his stomach was the fact that he had to face Dropscythe himself. The screen then shows the fighting order that the fights will take place in.

Shu: "Well first up is Lukas Misaki versus Doppio Dropscythe. I will give everyone time to head to their seats and the fighters to prepare themselves. The match will start in a few minutes."

Everyone agreed and Lukas had to rest inside one of the many preparation rooms so he could relax himself. He knew that he had to try and get along with Dropscythe, but not make a worse of an enemy out of him, which was probably what was going to happen now. He doesn't know if he could fight him head on. He was trying every tactic in his mind he could think of to relax himself, but this was very overwhelming for him. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard knocking on his door. 

Lukas: "Come in.."

The one who opened the door was not who he expected, it was Zaion.

Lukas: "Z-Zaion..?"

Zaion: "I came to check up on you, and also give a bit of information to help you out."

Lukas: "W-Why..?"

Zaion: "Because I want to be the one to beat my rival of course."

This made Lukas realize that she was serious when she made that declaration a month ago. He just sighed.

Lukas: "I suppose any information w-would be helpful in this c-case.."

Zaion: "His Magic is more physical based, so he will do whatever it takes to get up close to you. His Magic can amplify his strength and speed, yet it can also amplify his durability against both physical and magical attacks. So the best advice I can give is that you maintain distance and blast him away with your Wind Magic. Now I will get going, do not lose out there got it?"

Zaion seemed really serious about this. Lukas was just honestly surprised by her determination to just give her rival advice so that no one could beat her rival. 

Lukas: "Got it.."

Zaion then left to sit back with the others and the match was soon to begin. Yamino-Sensei spoke through a microphone that somehow allowed his booming voice to flow through the entire arena, though everyone was unsure on how this was possible since they couldn't see any output source.

Shu: "Alright everyone. Can the two fighters enter the battlegrounds?"

Dropscythe and Lukas entered the arena the exact same time from two opposite sides. Lukas was trying to keep his composure, but couldn't help but gulp once he reached his position. Dropscythe was cracking his knuckles.

Doppio: "You better not hold back against me! Because I won't be for what you did to me yesterday!"

Lukas realized by this point that he had accidentally made an enemy unintentionally. 

Shu: "The match shall begin in 3! 2! 1! Begin!"
