Chapter 19 - The Bermuda Triangle Island & A Mechanical Assassin

Lukas and the rest of class 1A followed Akuma-Sensei to the gymnasium as they awaited for further instructions. While waiting, Ina walked up to him as she wanted to understand something.

Ina: "Hey Lukas."

Lukas: "Yes Ina..?"

Ina: "I wanted to know something from you since I've never asked before, but do you have any idea what that thing was from the day you lost control of yourself?"

Lukas: "Umm.... I think so...?"

Lukas was starting to feel a little uncomfortable as he doesn't want to talk about it.

Veibae: "Listen Lukas, we need to know so we can help you."

Veibae then decided to join the conversation as she wanted to know as well. Zaion was listening from a distance to know as well.

Lukas: "V-Vei... You too..?"

Veibae: "Understand that we aren't here to fuck you over or anything of the sorts. We are trying to get answers so we can help you."

Lukas: "I... I understand... but I think I..."

Before he could speak his mind, mister Tanigo arrived with Zentreya next to him.

Tanigo: "I see that the whole class is here. That's good. I understand that it seems strange for you all to be here in the gymnasium to meet with me. However, that is because we can't travel the traditional way how we Humans tend to do it since the ride there wouldn't work out. So we have another method. Zen?"

Zentreya then nodded as she called in some drones that went to certain areas of the gym, only to activate certain buttons for the floor in the middle of the gym to open. What came up is what one can describe a circular gate that would be used for teleportation. Teleporting from one place to another is fascinating to most.

Tanigo: "This students is what we would like to call a Gateway, a portal that is controlled with combining Magic and Technology into action. Where we'll be going is an island located within the Bermuda Triangle."

Every student was then surprised by this, except for Zai and Lukas. Though Lukas gulped a bit, being extremely nervous. The Gateway then activated as it gave off a unique vibrant blue colour.

Vox: "Pay attention students, we'll be travelling in one by one, making sure that all of you are prepared for the dangers ahead. The reason we're going to the island is to make sure you all are ready for the Mid-Year Exams that will occur within two months from now. So with this time, we'll be training you all up until the next month. So you all better be ready."

The one who raises their hand in the moment is Filian as she was confused about something.

Filian: "Akuma-Sensei, what about our education? Shouldn't we be able to study for that equally as much as our physicality?"

Vox: "You are correct Filian, however in truth we are spending this month focusing on your mental and physical capabilities so we can get you all up to speed. Recently there has been speculations on the cult that has been around for a little while that they've been targeting other students. So don't expect us to hold back on your training from here on out. Now with that all done, let's get moving!"

He then claps his hands as he then turns around. So after that, each student went through one by one as Lukas continuously tried to relax himself, but for some reason, he heard whispers in his ears. He wasn't sure on where it was coming from as he couldn't understand what was going on. The voices sounded feminine as he couldn't understand what it was trying to say to him as he was struggling to listen to what she was trying to say.

Yet when he heard he was next, he breathed out with a sigh as he made his way through the Gateway, ending up on the other side within an instant. He did almost trip as he was caught by Zaion, holding onto him by his jacket.

Zaion: "Try to be careful next time will you?"

Lukas: "Y-Yeah... Thank y-you.."

Zaion then simply let go of him as he face planted to the ground, she puffed out her chest as she left. Lukas rubbed his head a bit, finding this to be a rather unfortunate situation as he wasn't planning to make any enemies at all for the most part. Though soon enough, everyone else was through the Gateway including mister Tanigo and Akuma-Sensei as the Gateway shut behind them.

When Lukas got back up, he realized that they were on a cliff edge as he could see the ocean in front of him, giving a magnificent view. The sunlight reflected off of the waters as he felt peaceful in mind. It was a strange feeling as he didn't quite understand the reason behind it.

Tanigo: "Welcome to the island within the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. In case you all are wondering on why it is not as dreadful as the outside are lead to believe, I'll explain. In truth we are in the Eye of the Storm, which means we are directly in the centre, which doesn't get affected by the storms itself. Now come on, we need to head to the residence we will all be accommodating."

Tanigo alongside Akuma-Sensei then began leading the way as Lukas decided to follow far behind, preferring to let his mind figure things out instead of asking the questions right now. We then cut to an unknown location where we see Rushia walking alongside Void, who is showing her to a particular simulation room. As he is accessing it, Rushia couldn't help but ask.

Rushia: "Lord Void, how are you able to have access to this equipment...? Isn't it too advanced for today's times?"

Void: "It is. I just happen to have interesting contacts. Come on, I want you to meet your partner who you will be working together with for this mission."

Rushia didn't know how to respond back, but she followed close behind as she then entered a room which seemed to be far above the room she could observe. She seemed rather surprised by this as she didn't know how to react, but she kept her cool as she focused on the room below. The simulation seemed to be simulating a particular ruined city that has multiple threats that seem robotic in nature.

Walking the streets however was a particular robot that is walking further and further down one of the many streets. Its six arms were relaxed until it could notice that there was an enemy patrol ahead. Its tail began to shake around a bit, giving a mechanical rattle as it began to bring out six high frequency blades. It readied itself to fight.

???: "Combat ready."

Its voiced echoed mechanically as it began to run towards a building. It then leaped onto the walls, its feet latching on as it began to run up until it came to a halt. The moment it came to a halt, it jammed its blades into the surface as it began to turn to its right, wall running like nothing. It then hopped off of the building as it landed in the middle of the enemy patrol.

The patrol seemed Human as they had guns at the ready. A total of eight soldiers.

Soldier Squad Leader: "Open fire!"

The soldiers then began to open fire, but the robot began to run at incredible speeds that the bullets couldn't hit it, though even if it did, the bullets ricocheted off of its metallic body. It disappeared from sight as the soldiers looked around, trying to find their enemy.

The robot was well hidden as it activated its cloaking device, blending in with the environment as its tail impaled one of the soldiers, making them turn around to then open fire immediately, making the robot drop the corpse and prevent being fully detected. The soldiers still remained on guard, but the robot then uncloaked itself right next to two soldiers as he stabbed them both in the gut with its lower set of arms.

The other soldiers then opened fire as they hit the robot, however it was futile as the bullets continued to bounce off of its body like nothing. Once it managed to remove the blades from the two corpses, it began to run at amazing speeds, killing every single soldier with simply slashes to the necks, even decapitating one of them.

Once it was done, it seemed to not be as aggressive anymore as its body began to relax.

???: "Combat complete. Simulation end."

The simulation came to an end as it was standing in the middle of a large white room, though Void and Rushia were already at the entrance to the room. The two walked up to the robot.

Void: "Excellent performance as ever Shadow."

The robot was now known as Shadow, a mechanical assassin created and coded to kill.

Shadow: "Void. Just fulfilling my functions. Preventing deviation codes."

Rushia: "Deviation codes?"

Shadow: "That is none of your concern. What service is required of me now Void?"

Void: "You see Shadow, I am sending Rushia here with you on a particular mission. You're going to track down the Omni Magician, Lukas Misaki."

Shadow: "The Omni Magician? This Lukas Misaki a threat to eliminate for my master and your plans?"

Void: "To a degree, but not at the same time. He is a specimen that I want to observe, but I can't do a proper surveillance due to the Academy. Yet it is the perfect time to test the boy out. I want you to test him, if he survives and beats you, we will know how to progress. If he does defeat you, retreat and recover so we can plan things, but if you kill him, it is another loose end gone. Is the objective clear enough for you Shadow?"

Shadow: "Your orders are as clear as my master's commands. I shall obey due to my master's command."

Void: "Good. Rushia."

Rushia: "Y-Yes?"

Void: "Get ready. You're going to get acquainted with our companion here. You're new to this, so I expect you to improve with results."

Rushia: "R-Right.."

Rushia nodded, agreeing to this, but something is telling her that something is wrong about all of this. She was feeling a bit uncomfortable, but she held in her worries as she then began to follow Shadow to prepare for their departure. Void watched on from a distance as he was then alone in the simulation room.

???: "You commanding my bot around again Maskie?"

A figure then began to materialize in the room as the figure appeared in a holographic projection.

Void: "Malware. I thought you were still in the future."

Malware: "Oh I am. It just tends to get boring when there's no proper resistance here... I can tell you're enjoying Shadow's company huh?"

Void: "Your bot is reliable and resourceful. Its programming is beyond most recognition."

Malware: "Glad to hear it. Though as a heads up, I was thinking of coming to this timeline to set up operations. I want your approval since you've proven your point Maskie."

Void: "Fine. But don't draw attention or the operation will be a failure."

Malware: "Sure thing! I'll see you in a little while!"

She greeted her farewell with a salute as she disappeared. Void sighs, beginning to walk out of the simulation room.

Void: "Blasted AI... But no matter, she'll be resourceful as well..."
