MY STRANGE ADDICTION

MY  STRANGE  ADDICTION  !

there was a time when chanwoo might have called it living.

now, it felt more like waiting for something to give, for the walls to crack, for the last tether of obligation to snap under the weight of his exhaustion. each day blurred into the next, a monochrome reel of failures, disappointments, and the gnawing ache of something irreversibly broken within him.

his parents had cut him off without hesitation, discarding him like an inconvenient afterthought. his boss — who had barely acknowledged his presence in the years he had given to that lifeless job — hadn't even blinked before handing him his termination notice, as if letting go of a ghost rather than a man. and the debt, that monstrous, unrelenting thing, loomed over him like an ever-growing shadow, an insatiable force that devoured every ounce of effort, every shred of hope.

most nights, he lay in the suffocating quiet of his apartment, eyes tracing the jagged cracks in the ceiling, listening to the rhythmic hum of the city beyond his window. the thought whispered to him then, insidious and unshakable: how much longer? was it fear that kept him rooted in this desolate existence, or simply inertia? he couldn't tell anymore.

and then, this man appeared. he offered him a card — small, unassuming, yet strangely heavy in chanwoo's trembling fingers. the man's words seemed ridiculous at first, too strange to entertain. but desperation has a way of twisting logic, of making the impossible seem just plausible enough. so chanwoo took the card.

he had nothing left to lose, after all.

the world he stepped into was not salvation. it was something far darker, far more insidious than he could have ever imagined. a place where survival was not just a necessity but a brutal, unrelenting game. where losing meant disappearing, and trust was a currency too expensive to afford.

yet in the midst of the chaos, in a place where everything was designed to strip a man down to his most primal instincts, there was him — kang daeho. a man who, against all logic, pulled chanwoo's gaze like gravity, like inevitability. a man whose presence was both a promise and a warning.

what chanwoo didn't know (what he couldn't know) was that meeting him would change everything.

for better.

or for much, much worse.

LEY'S NOTES ━ first of all, i want to point out that english isn't my first language, so if you come across any mistakes, please bear with me! secondly, i really wanted to write about daeho because i just love him so much :(

this story will include content from the original series but will also touch on sensitive topics such as : sexual & death jokes, suicidal thoughts, homophobia, mental health issues && MORE. additionally, this is a male x male story, so if that's not your thing or it makes you uncomfortable, i kindly stepping away now because this book is gay as hell.

chanwoo isn't perfect. in fact, he's far from it. he won't always act rationally, and his decisions might (or not) make you want to scream and throw your phone across the room. he's not a hero. and he's not a villain either. he's messy, flawed, and human. if you're expecting a perfect protagonist or find yourself hating his choices, this might not be the story for you so, once again, please stop reading this book!

with that said, thank you so much for giving this story a chance! i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it.
