The covers stayed over my head as Taehyung and Jungkook kept knocking on my door. Tomorrow my dad's funeral well be held and Taehyung and Jungkook have been trying to get me to come out my room. That day we flew back to Seoul only for me to lock myself in my room. It's been three days and I haven't ate or slept. My eyes are dry now from all the crying I've been doing but I have a pounding headache. Without my father I feel like a lost doll, I don't know what to do.
"Somi, please let us in. You need to eat and get some air. Please Somi, your father wouldn't want this." Taehyung spoke softly knocking on my bedroom door. My face was on fire but it seemed like when the tears fell it was even more hotter. I rolled over in my bed staring at the once beautiful room destroyed. Just the other day I came in my room breaking almost everything. It wasn't fare. My father was supposed to live and be happy. He just got remarried after all this time. For once I was happy to see my father with another women besides my mom.
"Please just let me be." I mumbled.
"No Somi! It's been tree days. It's okay, I promise you Somi it's okay." Jungkook spoke. I jumped out the bed unlocking and swinging the door open.
"It's not! It's not okay! Why can't you understand that? It's not okay!" I screamed as the tears came back. I feel to the ground with both Taehyung and Jungkook wrapping their arms around me. We stayed there in the door way with me crying and they just holding me tightly. I don't know who was hurting more, me or them. They were hurting because of me, and I was hurting because of my father.
"We have something for you." Taehyung pulled out from behind his back a small envelope. I didn't know what to do so I just started drying my tears. "It's from your father." Taehyung added. I slowly grabbed the letter. On one side of the letter was a pink flower and the other side had a bright yellow flower.
"I'm not going to open it yet." I mumbled.
"Why?" Jungkook asked.
"Because next week is my birthday. Then, I'll open the letter." I mumbled holding the letter closer to my chest.
"Will you please come downstairs. Mom will be home in just a few." Taehyung spoke standing up. Jungkook stood up next holding out his hand. I slowly grabbed his hand before standing up. I walked to my bed placing the letter down.
I do know my father to well, he wouldn't like the idea of me being in a room all alone crying my eyes out. For the time being I'm not alone. I have Taehyung and Jungkook by my side.
"Here's some water and Taehyung is ordering some chicken." Jungkook sat the cool glass of water down in front of me as he pulled the chair out beside me. I just sat there not speaking a word, I didn't feel like talking anymore. Just not yet. I laid my head down on the kitchen table feeling it's cool touch hit my cheek. My eyes slowly blinked as Jungkook laid his beside me.
"Jungkook. I miss him." I cried out feeling the cool touch disappear. Jungkook reached over pulling me into a hug. Once again I started crying as I just sat there in Jungkook's arms. "My heart hurts so bad and I can't make it stop." I was choking on my words as Jungkook gently started brushing the hair out of my eyes.
"Please stop crying Somi, it's breaking you...which is breaking me." Jungkook mumbled. He started wiping my tears off my cheek as he just stared at me. My eyes though never left his. I've said it once before but Jungkook's touch makes me feel safe and for once I feel protection from someone besides my father. I grabbed Jungkook's shirt pulling his body into my arms. I kept hugging him as I just sat there still crying. A few minutes later Taehyung walked back in the kitchen sitting down in front of us. I slowly pulled away from Jungkook drying my tears.
Remember, be strong for them Somi. I can't be weak. Not for them, not for father.
"Thank you." I smiled looking at them both.
"For what?" Taehyung asked.
"For being by my side. I truly love both of you." I reached over grabbing Jungkook's hand with my broken hand and I used my other hand to grab Taehyung's. I kept my smile as I just stared at them both.
"Somi, you are like a little sister to me. Of course I'll be here for you." Taehyung spoke squeezing my hand.
"For you Somi, we would travel to hell and back just to make you happy, to make you feel loved. You did something to this family, you made us closer once again." Jungkook smiled looking at me.
"Thank you." I repeated.
A few minutes later the chicken was here and both Taehyung and Jungkook were slamming piece after piece in front of me making me laugh a little. "It's been three days, so here's three days of food." Jungkook snapped placing another piece down in front of me. Taehyung used his free hand moving the glass of water beside me. I looked down at my necklace before touching it.
"I promise father, I will be happy for you, for them, for me." I spoke under my breath. I reached over grabbing the glass of water taking a few sips before taking a bite of my chicken. Taehyung started telling Jungkook a story about something but it was making them both laugh which made me laugh as well.
"Somi." We all stopped laughing as we looked up at the kitchen door way to see Jiyung with her purse. She had a navy blue dress on and as she walked over to me I heard her heels clicking. She reached down jerking me into a hug making me smell her perfume. Man I never thought about how bad I must smell and here she is smelling like a rose garden. "I'm so sorry. They say it was his heart, it was slowly giving up on him." Jiyung spoke. No one, not even her own children said anything as she pulled away from the hug.
"I'll put your bags in your room Ms. Jiyung." A short man said from behind. Jiyung flashed him a smile followed by a thank you. The man brought upstairs a few bags making me wonder if anything my father had is in there.
"You seemed to have taken the news quiet well. I'm glad. I was afraid it might have destroyed you." Jiyung reached down touching my cheeks.
"She's been crying her eyes out for three days. Of course not. She's just now smiling back again." Taehyung snapped making me look at him. For once I saw something I never say before in Taehyung. Anger.
"Oh, then I'm sorry." Jiyung smiled down at me. She said she was going to go take a shower as she walked upstairs leaving us all silent at the kitchen table.
"Why do I feel like she's being strange?" Jungkook mumble. I looked up at them raising an eyebrow.
"She's always weird in my opinion. Sorry since I know she's still your mom." I spoke looking at them both.
Later that night I just sat on my bed staring at the letter. It felt so light and I wanted to rip it open but I told myself not to, to wait until my birthday so maybe then, I might feel like my dad is there with me.
"Knock knock." Taehyung's voice spoke before opening my bedroom door. Both him and Jungkook walked in both holding drinks.
"We made some coco." Jungkook said smiling.
"It's like eighty degrees outside." I laughed tucking the letter under my pillow.
"Well yeah, but I bet you still eat ice cream in the winter." Taehyung spoke handing me a cup. I looked down to see the whip cream and marshmallows dancing around in the warm coco. I took a small sip as Taehyung started shouting that it was hot. They were smart to bring me some coco, the warmth was nice and it seemed to be helping my body wake up even more.
"So tomorrow, everyone is coming, but I wanted to know if you want something special to be there or not?" Jungkook asked. I knew he was asking about my father's funeral. And I know it's something important but at the moment it's the last thing I want to think about. I don't want to know that tomorrow my father will be in the ground six feet under, laying there as us the living keep walking around. My father is supposed to be by my side, he's supposed to be the person to help me through tough times.
"It's okay. Me and Jungkook will make sure it's beautiful." Taehyung reached over grabbing my hand.
"Thanks." I smiled looking at them both. Taehyung tried taking another sip of his drink but then yelled again that it was still hot.
"Somi." Jungkook spoke. I looked at him for only his lips to met mine. That same feeling from the other day was striking me again. "Thank you for being here with us." Jungkook spoke softly as he pulled away. I just stared at his eyes knowing one thing.
For my father, I can become a better person. For Taehyung I hope to become the little sister he dreams about. For Younji, Lisa, Jimin, Yoongi, and even Roy, I hope to become a strong friend that we can help fight battles with.
But for Jungkook, I hope to become the person he loves forever.
