Chapter 1
Virgil sat in History, tapping his finger lightly against the tan wooden desk. He was waiting for class to be over, History was the last class he had before the school day ended. When the bell finally rang, students quickly got up, grabbing their items and rushing out of the class. "Don't forget about your homework!" Their History teacher, Mr. Hamilton, called behind them. Virgil waited until everyone was cleared from the hall, and then made his way outside. When he got off the school campus, he made his way to his friend's house, which was Patton's. Patton was always a father figment to Virgil, which he liked.
As soon as he got there he knocked on the white painted door. After a few seconds, the door opened, a familiar face looking at him. "Virgil!" Ms. Heidi exclaimed, pleased by Virgil stopping by. "Hello, ma'am.." He said, playing with the loose strings of his hoodie. "Patton is upstairs, have fun, not too much fun." Ms. Heidi said with a wink, chuckling before letting him and closing the door behind him. Virgil chuckled and thanked Ms. Heidi, before going upstairs to Patton's room.
He went in to see Patton and his brother Evan chatting. Patton's gaze went to Virgil after hearing the door open. "Oh, sorry, was interrupting something?" Virgil asked, worrying he disturbed a moment. "Nah, Virge! Me and Ev' were just buying time while waiting for you!" Patton said with a smile that could bring the Sun to shame.
"Sorry," Virgil said. Had he really been that long, Virgil thought to himself. "There's nothing to be sorry for, oh and by the way, I have something to tell you!" Patton said, hugging Virgil and Virgil greeting Evan. "That is?" Virgil asked curiously. "There's a new student." Evan finished off, a small smile on his face. "Logan Sanders, I overheard the student council talking about him, they say he's pretty smart," Patton said.
"Wow Patton, eavesdropping?" Virgil said amused. Patton giggled. "What they don't know won't hurt them." Patton said, reaching to turn on theT.V. "So, what do you guys want to do?" Virgil asked. "I can't stick around much longer, I have a date with Jared and Connor," Evan said. "That's okay," Patton said, Virgil nodding with his statement," and don't do anything too fun," Patton says with a sly smirk. Virgil giggled, and heard Evan say, "No promises." then closed the door, leaving Patton and Virgil alone.
"Apocalypse of the Dammed?" I suggest, looking at the controller in my hands, then at Patton's. "Totally." He says and we began the game.
