You Can Too
"If she can score ten on ten, you can too."
"If she can draw a flawless car, you can too."
"If she can paint a scenery, you can too."
'
"Nothing is impossible in this world.
I say the same for you.
I don't care if you are a five year old."
'
"If another five year old can,
You can too."
'
A father to a daughter,
A mother to a son,
An elder brother to a younger sister,
An elder sister to a younger brother,
And so goes on the serial of melodrama.
'
To dispossess a young child
Of all the happiness she can have
Of all the joy he can have
Turning the poor being into a quivering mess
Coercing her and him to do something they are not perfect at
When they have plenty of time in future to excel at it
Is what I call one of many faces of cruelty.
'
Do you think,
Fame and reputation
That comes along once you pressurize your child,
Is something remarkable to be proud of?
'
How shallow can you get?
'
Just not saying that you love them,
But also show them.
'
Giving them applause,
For all that they do.
'
Let it be a messy drawing of an elephant
That resembles a fawn.
'
Encourage them on,
Appreciate them.
'
That's what their hearts yearn for;
Your appraisal.
Not your glares, or your condescending looks.
'
If you think what you do is going to take them places,
As a picture perfect someone,
You might get fortunate enough to see that, one day.
'
But,
They would lack compassion
And all that
You failed to give them.
'
Shower them with your love
And benevolence.
'
They will surely be the imperfectly perfect ones
But happy to no end.
'
And you?
'
You will be the happiest.
'
If your grandparents and parents can do that,
You can too.
