For Them
The boy was starving,
As he walked the road.
Gazing longingly at food stands,
That he can never afford;
He didn't realise when he crashed,
Into a girl.
She looked at him,
And knew at once he was hungry.
She led him to her house,
And fed him.
He thanked her,
And left.
As soon as he went,
She was called by her father.
She silently thanked God,
That she could feed someone;
If not herself with the food,
That her unaware neighbors gave.
Her need was food to live,
But her father's was not.
Her father's need was her,
And she was obliged to satiate.
