"midnight shadow your mission is to excecute a blonde high school girl by the name of eleanor smith, she goes by the nickname elle, and a maroon haired boy named robert kingsley, he goes by robbie. i will expect good new of your mission in 3 days, you are my best assassin i expect you to complete your mission in 3 day, do not disapoint me. i don't care who's family or friends they are you are being paid 2,584 dollars for this mission, bring home good news." my boss said through the phone.

"yes sir understood." i replied, as i looked out at the bright big moon infront of me from the roof, i was kneeling on. after i hung up i jumped of the roof into a pitch black alley, deep into the night.

"raven wake up!!!" my maroon haired, girlfriend whined, as she shook me trying to wake me up.

" uhh what do you want ? i'm tired" i asked, she gave me a crazy look.

" what do you mean your tired, everyday at the assassins village we'd get up at 5 you should be trained not to mention its already 8 thats by far enough sleep for an assassin who can stay awake for 8 whole days without sleep." cody stated, a hand on her hip.

" uh fine." i then drag myself out of bed, i had no shirt on and no pants just boxers. as i stood by my bed, i noticed cody a tiny bit flustered, and i followed her gaze to my boxer.

" what never seen a man in only boxers?" i slightly tease, but still being slighly sincere. she simply nodded and left the room quickly.

" heh shes freaking out about my outfit, but shes wearing a short shirt and short shorts." i chuckled, to myself. then walking to cody's room and grabbing my school uniform, from my half of the closet. thats when the words from my boss echoed in my head.

" your mission is to excecute elle smith, and robbie kingsley, no matter whos family it is."

"what am i supposed to do? elle and robbie are my friends and most importantly cody's. will i really be able to kill them? do i abandon the mission for cody's sake or complete the mission for the money? i was taught to never abandon a mission since i've joined the assassins village. will it really be that easy to abandon?"

after i got changed i left cody's room and walked into the kitchen to join cody and robbie at the kitchen table. the 2 were already eating cereal, i grabbed a bowl and the box of cereal and poured me a bowl then poured in the milk. after i made my bowl i returned the milk and cereal to its rightful place and sat at the table with my bowl and began to eat.

"what's up raven? its not like to to have slept this late." i then heard robbie worry, breaking the silence.

" oh i dont know i have a poor sleep i just couldn't fall asleep." i replied, the answer being a straight lie.

" god i really hate having to lie... but i have to complete the mission......... right? the answer has become unclear. what am i supposed to do?"

" so todays your first day of school huh?" robbie questioned, i simply replied with an mhm.

" its been about 2 or 3 weeks since you've been here and your just now starting school." robbie informed, stating knowledge we all already new.

" well it's because we had to get my living here and part time job thing situated along with enrolling at your school." i pointed out, and roobie nodded in understanding.

" ok class today we will review poems by shakespeare. will someone please give an example of one of shakespeare's poems?" the teacher stated. thats when i raised my hand.

" ok mister fang go ahead." the teacher, acknowledged. i then stood and closed my eye's and began reciting the famous english poem by william shakespeare.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer's lease hath all too short a date.

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimmed;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimmed;

after i finished reciting the poem i sat down and i noticed, everyone staring am me wide-eyed. i was kind of confused as to why they were so shocked.

" do they not know any shakespeare, man i knew the man personally of course i would know one of his poems"

"bravo mr. fang. perfect pronounciation and fluent reading." the teacher praised.

after school, cody congragulated my performance in class. we headed home, once we got there i changed into my work clothes and headed to my job, on my motorcycle. as silly as it may seem i work at subway, not my favorite place to work, but hey its one of the only jobs that doesn't run throught school hours.

"hey noobie i see your here on time, ok you'll be working the register, until you learn your different types of bread, also there is cookies here, so be sure to advertise those. i'm sure ryoko here will be able to help you learn, though she's new here herself she's got the basics down so don't hesitate to ask her stuff." the careless manager stated, giving me the jist of everything.

" hi, i'm ryoko like she just said, i'm a sophomore. i'm 16" the girl greeted waving at me flashing me a closed-eye smile. i waved back.

" dang your kind of short for a 16 year old." i pointed out, a little shocked, she gave me a sad face.

" i hate being called short." she informed, her arms crossed, with a pouty expression.

"oh sorry." i apologized, she didn't get the time to react because someone came in the store. the man came and stood infront of the buffay table with a shield, where ryoko was and made an order, she prepared his sandwhich and came to me.

"yes heres your change miss." i informed, handing the woman back her change, she was the last person to serve and now my shift was over. the time was 4:30.

" god i'm so glad this shift doesn't run all night, or i'll never get to hangout with cody."

once i got home everyone was on the couch in the living room watching tv.

"hey guys whats up?" i questioned, as i walked to cody's room, which was the first room in the hall of rooms next to the living room.

" just watching adventure time." elle shouted, knowning exactly were i was. after i changed i came out of cody's room and crashed on the couch with robbie, elle, and cody.

" one question though elle. why do you stay the night here like everyday, when you live right next door?" i asked, curious of her answer.

" thats exactly it, we live next door so i CAN spend the night instead of having to return home at the end of the weekend for school, and i stay the night here because it means more time with my friends." elle answered, ( quiz to see how well you know this story, below in comments.)

soon it was midnight and everyone was asleep, including cody...now is the perfect time to complete my mission.

" hmm the best way to... kill... them would be to put a mask over there mouths thats releases gas slowly. that way they wouldn't struggle and wake each other up."

i looked over at cody who was sleeping sitting straight up with robbie's hand on her face and elle's legs all over her. elle's head was on my shoulder, so i slowly pull myself off the couch and set her head on the arm of the couch.

" i can't abandon a mission... thats how i was raised.... but can i do it, do i want to do it? god why is this so hard. this is why we were told never to get attached to people, why we were told not to show or feel emotion and yet..."

i walked to my room and grabbed 2 gas masks and hooking small toxic gas tanks into it so that it would release once the side buttons were pushed. once i had the gas masked, i walked back out into the living room and walking infront of the couch. i then reached for elle's head but stopped.

"...... NO! i won't do it, im abandoning this mission.... i wont kill my friends and family."

i then dropped the masks and ran out of the house, as i did i could heard everyone wake up.

" i was.... i was gonna kill them... i can't face them anymore..." i muttered to myself on a random roof top slowly drifting to sleep right there.

*ring ring* my phone was going of and woke me up.

" ...yes?" i asked into the phone, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"midnight? your mission? it's been 3 days have you completed it?" my bosses voice questioned. it was the voice i was hopping not to hear.

" i'm sorry captain jones... i wasn't able to complete it.... i won't kill your daughter's birth family. i'm sorry but if you want it done your gonna have to come do it your self but be warned i won't allow it, i'll protect them from anyone you send. please don't think i am making you an enemy, i am still an assassin and you still are captain but this is one mission and order i will not follow." i informed, rambling in a dead tone. after i hung up the phone i stood up and ran to an apartment complex. i used my magic to change his looks then entered.

" yes i'd like to check out an apartment." i told the man at the counter he showed me a room and i fill out all the necessary papers , i then left and went to the store. once i got to the store i bought some clothes and returned to my apartment and put all the clothes in a small suit case i had bought. i walked to the mirror and starred at my reflection, my hair was long and white, and braided, my eyes were white and my skin was darker. i noticed the blue key necklace on my neck, the one that goes with cody's lock necklace, it was the only thing left that connected me with her.

"geez i miss her already." i sighed.

"girlfriend break up with you?" a unfamiliar voice said from the door, causing me to turn in the direction of the voice. there stood a man in my door way, he had long blonde hair and a stubble beard. i gave him a what-are-are-you-doing-in-here look.

"what your door was wide open and i heard you talking so i came to welcome you, new neighbor." the man said, he looked like a smoker and a hippy with no that many friends.

" do you smoke?" i asked in a dead tone no expression on my face.

"woah no need to treat me like an enemy. i smoke but i'm looking to be friends so lighten up. ok? I'm not gonna turn into some terrorist." the man rambled talking about my expressionless face.

"Come on you have to check out my jutso class!" the man said grabbing my hand and running out of the apartment complex onto the street then into a weird outside doji surrounded of by a face and an arch. behind the outside doji was an oldern chines building which I would assume to be the inside doji. ( just started a new book called cody's pastlife its cody's pastlife 70 million years in the past as atheena farfelee who also has satan's soul powers. )

"master kadenji meet a new friend. his name is uhh....-"  the man began being cut off by me.

"raven i'm raven" i interupted.

"he just moved in next to me. he seems like he'd be interested in your class sir." the hippy male said, bowing to the man called kadenji. they both then began to fight, hand to hand combat training. i eventually joined the class and ended up practicing with the 2, considering how different the hippy man and i are we managed to become friends, i found out his name was john, john henry. i also learned that his father murdered his mother, and he ended up growing up with a priest, his father died a year ago. after the day was over we headed back home and crashed in our seperate apartments.

' so this is my new life? i'm really gonna miss them, but i will protect them'
