Soren's Point of View

"Anything."

I suddenly paled. How could I promise her something like that? I never wanted her to get involved. It was just too dangerous. There was a reason that Issy left.

She wanted to protect her family. She wanted Kyra safe. She wanted her parents to be safe. She ended her life to protect those she loved from her mistakes.

Fuck.

I looked over at Kyra. She wrinkled her nose as she slept on the table. I got up from the picnic bench and picked Kyra up bridal style and walked out to the car.

I set her in the front seat and buckle her in. I walk around to the driver's side and hop in.

I start the car and head to the college.

When I get get into her dorm room, I lay her down on her bed and start to pull the blankets over her.

Kyra starts to cry. "Please! No!! Melissa? Please don't leave me!!!"

I shake Kyra to wake her up.

"Hey. Kyra. Come on. Wake up. Please don't cry."

She opens her eyes slowly. She is breathing heavily and is trembling.

I pull her in for a hug.

"Please don't leave me." She whispers

"Never. I thought you'd know by now that I would never leave you. I never want to leave you."

I'm debating on telling her. I just... I don't know...

"Hey, Ky? Do you want me to stay? The bought I mean? I can go sleep in the couch?" I say to her nervously, afraid she will say no, but also afraid if she does say no, if she will hurt herself.

"You can stay here if you like. I would prefer it if you stayed in here though. I don't want to be alone."

My heart fluttered in my chest slightly.

"Okay."
