Elizabeth pov
I was headed back to my office when I saw Liv with Amanda.

"Liv!" She turned and smiled.
"Hey Lizzie. How'd it go?"
"Not bad. Pretty sure he'll be found guilty. But what are you guys doing here?" My sister answered me.
"The captain wanted us to meet a ADA to help with the case."
"That's not a bad idea. Who was it?"
"Rafael Barba." I smirked and Liv spoke.
"You know him?"
"Only by reputation. He's pretty damn good. He doesn't duck from a fight." Amanda spoke up.
"That's what we heard." Liv spoke.
"You gonna stop by later?"
"Well I have to since someone won't give me the damn files I need. I swear your squad likes pushing my buttons." Amanda laughed and Liv grinned.
"Or they just like seeing you." We kept walking as we talked.
"Yeah. Sure. That why you keep finding ways to get rid of ADA's because every time you all do that I have to back off of homicide to cover SVU." Liv shrugged and I rolled my eyes at her.

Later I was headed into the squad room. I went over to Fin and spoke.
"You know normally when I ask a detective to give me files they bring them or send them over. Not make me come get them." Fin smirked and spoke.
"Yeah but then I wouldn't get to see you Liza." I rolled my eyes and took the files.
"You all are so annoying sometimes." Just then Munch spoke up.
"Well if it isn't the other Benson sister." I smiled and turned.
"Hey Munch."
"Liv is talking with the newest ADA." I nodded my head and walked in the direction I knew they were.

"Liv."
"Hey Lizzie. Lizzie this is Rafael Barba. This is my sister Elizabeth Benson." Barba spoke up.
"Ah. The famous ADA Benson. I've heard that you're pretty good." I smiled and spoke.
"Same with you. It's nice to meet you." Liv spoke.
"Did Fin give you the folder?" I rolled my eyes.
"Yes. Next time just bring the damn folder to my office."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Right." She smiled and left. I shook my head then spoke to Barba.
"Sorry about that."
"It's fine. They seem a little difficult." I laughed and spoke.
"Oh they are. But they mean well. Let me know if they give you a hard time. I'll make them stop." He smirked and spoke.
"I think I can hold my own but thank you." I nodded my head and spoke.
"See you then."

Two weeks later
I was in my office when Barba came in.

"So about the not needing help." I smirked and leaned back.
"What did they do?"
"This case. They're pushing for it and it's hard." I sighed and took the folders he held out. I looked at the case then shook my head.
"I love them but they tend to not know when to give up."
"I've noticed. I'm all for helping people but some of these cases......They're near impossible to prosecute." I sighed and spoke.
"Sit. I'll look this over with you."
"You don't have to......"
"I know. But I want to." He smiled a genuine smile and sat down.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome counselor." He chuckled and we looked over the files.

We were sitting and having lunch while enjoying ourselves. I smiled and spoke.
"This is nice."
"This is." Barba spoke up after a bit.
"Would you like to go out sometime?" I froze then looked at him.
"Like a date?"
"Perhaps. Just getting to know you."
"Sure then."
"Good. Tomorrow then at six?"
"Yeah." Barba stood up.
"I should go. I'll see you later Elizabeth." I smiled and spoke.
"Yeah. See you later Rafael."

I got up after a bit and went to the squad room.

I went over and sat on Liv's desk.
"I had a weird thing happen."
"What?" I hesitated then spoke.
"Rafael just asked me out." Liv looked up and spoke.
"Wow. So he likes you."
"Liv!"
"What? It's true." I hesitated then spoke.
"I.....What can I do?"
"Well you can start by stop freaking out. Come on Beth. You got this." I sighed and smiled.
"Thank you Liv."
"Always sis."

The next night I was nervously getting ready for the date.

I took a deep breath and grabbed my purse and phone. My door bell rang and I went to answer it. I smiled and opened the door. Rafael stared at me and spoke.
"You look incredible." I blushed and spoke.
"Thank you." He smiled and took my hand.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah." I took his hand and we walked to the car.

We pulled up to a restaurant and we went in.

We relaxed and had a really good time while getting to know each other.
"So you and Olivia are really close?"
"Yeah. We've always been close. We didn't have the easiest childhood." Rafael looked at me and I spoke.
"Our mom was raped. Liv and I are the result." Rafael looked shocked then looked with pity.
"I'm sorry." I shrugged and took a drink of water.
"It's okay. Makes it harder sometimes but Liv and I deal with it." Rafael nodded then spoke.
"That why you two chose the career paths you did?"
"Yes. Mom always encouraged us to be anything we wanted." Rafael nodded. I smiled and took a bite of food then spoke.
"What about you Rafael? Why did you become a ADA?" He smiled and leaned back.
"Nothing much. Just enjoyed helping others." I grinned and leaned back.
"That's not very interesting counselor." He smirked and spoke.
"Well I came from the bario. I wanted to make a better life for myself." I smiled and spoke.
"I get that." We ate for a bit before I spoke.
"So what made you move to Manhattan SVU?"
"Change of pace?" I smiled and leaned back. He smiled and spoke.
"Alright. Fine. I heard about you. I got curious."
"Me?"
"Yes. I just was curious about the most amazing ADA I've heard about." I blushed and looked at him.
"I don't know about amazing."
"Every single ADA I've talked to brings up your name. Even defense attorneys talk about you. You've impressed a lot of people." I chuckled and spoke.
"Not my job. I don't care about impressing anyone. I care about doing my job well."
"Mmmm. I know. I can tell even from our short time together." I smiled and enjoyed talking to Rafael more.
