Story VII (A JT Music Fanstory)

F E N R I R

A man looked at the person on the floor under him, the black and gold embroidered hilt barely visible under all of the blood that had been spilt over it.

The kill had been relatively easy, just a simple stab through the neck, and then through the chest just for good measure. Yes this one was too easy, boring even. The man looked outside and suddenly his phone rang.

It's time

A short text said and then another came through under it

Invoke Order 66

The man groaned. The last time he had to do this was three centuries ago during the gang war of the late 2030's. It has already been lasting a decade and the people who he was working for, even after a few leadership changes, were still ordering mass devastation whenever they think something has gotten out of hand.

This time though, this time seemed different, this time they weren't telling him a target or giving him any other kind of instructions. He didn't even know why he was still following them, after all it's been three hundred years and many times they have had different leaders or made him come in to clean up a mess that they'd gotten themselves into and wanted out of.

The man shrugged and decided to go to the nearest city. That way the order would have more power and there would be more devastation. The man thought about it as he walked down the left side of a long road. The building he was in suddenly exploded behind him as he thought about what he wanted to do.

He decided that he'd go to a popular place and invoke the ancient power that apparently only he could induce, or clear away. But in order to stop the order the last person needed to be killed after their 65th kill. Or whoever and whatever they were near that had a beating heart were also going to be cursed with the order and cause more destruction.

But this time, this time there was no such clear order, and the man was determined to end this world and fulfill his purpose once and for all. You see he was something thought a myth, among the Norse gods he was feared more than most. With glowing yellow eyes, sharp canines that were longer than normal and a full smile to go with it, he was 6'6 with clothes consisting of grey fur-coated camouflage pants, a T-Shirt that was covered in Black fur and a cloak of Red fur.

Usually this was something that got him found but he didn't care, he was immortal after all, and the cuffs and five linked chains hanging from his wrists and legs should've been a dead five away that he was dangerous. But no one ever heard those chains because mortals couldn't see them, so they wouldn't hear them either.

He hates being used as a toy, a creature of war without a say in what he got to do. It was like keeping a puppet tied to strings in a ceiling that was never going to be looked at or reached. The worst part was that the mortals that had him trapped under their control weren't even able to understand the contact that they'd made with him. So unless they ordered him to do something, should they ever let him go and do things on his own. His chains would break and he would be free to raze the world in wrath.

Sadly there was also another condition. That being he needed to have a command of his own fulfilled without interrupting the process for a full two days straight. Meaning now that he was finally able to do something the way he wanted to even if it was by order, all he had to do was wait until this Curse festered for two days and then he'd be free.

So, naturally, going to the very state that his contract and the agency keeping him 'under control' was the first thing that he did.

————————————

It took several days to get to an area that cars passed by on occasion, that stupid cabin in the middle of nowhere really didn't help anything. The man hoped that the explosion also caught the forest on fire, so that the humans would be caught in that 'big' event to not notice that their sky was starting to grow red.

A sound caught the man's attention. There was a car coming from behind him, good, finally a faster way to travel around. The car got closer and the man put out a hand with his thumb up and pointing to the sky. Hopefully this was an area the mortals stopped for people walking on the road, otherwise there was going to be a hole somewhere it shouldn't be.

The car got closer and passed by, the man looked at them as they passed to see the grinning faces of teenage mortals trying to prolong an old person's suffering more than likely. Sadly for them this was no normal old person, so when they passed by and saw the golden eyes shining under the blood red cloak.

Two of them, the ones looking at him immediately died and turned into ash, of which filtered out of the windows and flew straight towards the man. Who breathed in the screaming souls of ash and smiled.

The man pulled out a mortal weapon as the driver screamed, hitting the brakes and causing the car to come to a stop. The man changed sides on the road and once coming upon the fear-frozen mortal teen aimed the weapon at their head and a bullet tore through the window, their skull, brain, and flesh, before lodging itself into the door.

That soul wasn't going to be his to take, and there was no one else in the back of the car so he opened the door. Ripped the mortal out of the seat, his claw-like nails cutting into flesh and through the seat belt in the process. The body flew a half mile, as did the door and the man settled into the seat and began to move forwards once more.

As he drives he started to look through the car for anything useful: the inside of the center council held three large bundles of 20's, the glove box held another metal weapon that had a giant barrel for a pistol and looked like a weapon shaped from silver, the previous weapon the man had was thrown from the widow and the giant .50 caliber Deagle replaced his old weapon.

The man figured that this was a stolen car and those teens were sinners, kind of ironic how they got what they deserved from a god in the end. Though that didn't matter anymore and the man continued driving until a thump was heard in the back and last time he'd checked there was nothing but ash in the backseat.

He sighed and stopped the car, were these mortals really doing that. Trap another mortal,  bring them somewhere secluded, kill them, bury them, boast about it years later?

The man stopped the car in the road, not caring to pull over onto the side of the road. You could see for miles in either direction anyways so it really didn't matter. He got out and went to the back of the car.

A pair of claws tore through the inside of the trunk and suddenly the mortal inside was revealed to the light. A little girl? Really, how bad could mortals get these days. The man growled and huffed before going to the side of the car and opening the backseat driver's side door, without ripping it off this time, and then getting back into the drivers side.

There was two options he was giving this person: get out of the car and run into a death of dehydration, heatstroke, and hunger, or get into the car and risk the man's judgement.

Surprisingly the car door closed in the back and the man looked in the rear-view mirror at the shivering mortal girl sitting in the seat behind him looking down at her feet. This one was smarter than most, good, she'd need it.

"W-where are the others?" She squeaked and the man looked at the floor of the seat next to him and saw that there was surprisingly containers full of water and a bag of food. The other mortals must've been planning to be out of town for a long time with that.

The man just grabbed a bottle of water and tossed the food into the back and started driving off once again. This mortal was only going to get in his way in the end, but he didn't usually kill those that didn't deserve it so she was safe from him for now.

She decided to stop the question and read into the food and water that was given. She devoured everything ravenously and had directed at least three bottles of water. Then she offered a bottle of water to the man and he raised a hidden eyebrow at her but took the offering.

"Thank you for saving me, even if it wasn't intentional I'm pretty at that even you could tell that what they were going to do wasn't going to be good" she said shuddering and started to look out of the window. Eventually she fell asleep and just as they were getting to the main city the car was out of gas.

It continued on for a little while until it finally stuttered and stopped just past the first block of abandoned buildings. The world was just getting worse and worse wasn't it? I'm only a decade the world had been purged of three billion mortal souls and the remaining cities had turned into self ruling places neglecting the poor and weak.

Though it was even more interesting because those in the inner places of the cities had no idea that the rest of the place was a barren wasteland. They loved their lives carelessly and without purpose, much like the man, but without the hundreds of years of experience on the planet.

The man started to walk and the girl walked behind him, a bit of a distance away, but it didn't last long as mortal bottom-feeding predators came out of the shadows. The man stopped at a group of four of them blocked his path.

"Hey man, how bout you step aside and give us that pretty lil' lady and will let you live eh?" A thug with a bat said and the man just shrugged and turned. Thug one was a little surprised at the compliance but soon recovered and two of the other made their way past the man towards the girl shaking in fear once more.

As they passed by, the man turned towards them once again  and put a hand on either of their shoulders. Suddenly the two's heads toppled forward off of their necks and the man pushed the decapitated bodies aside.

Thug 1 and 2 were shocked, they didn't see anything that resembled a weapon capable of doing that on the man, so how did that happen? They both looked into the cloaked man's eyes with fear-filled expressions and all they saw was a flash of gold before their bodies turned to ash and their souls were inhaled by the man.

The girl watched with horror at what had happened but was snapped out of it by a waving motion made by the man for her to follow. She hopped over the decapitated heads and avoided the blood best she could before sprinting after the man. Only one question now remained for her to think about.

Why was this man protecting her?

She thought about this the entire time until the man held out a hand to her, motioning that she stop and she realized that they were in front of a restaurant. The man walked into the building without even looking back to see if she had followed or not.

He looked around. The place was full of mortals surprisingly, they all had decently looking clothes and once they saw him walk in with his Blood-red Cloak and Gray Furred pants they immediately were frozen in place. Unable to speak or move, this creature in front of them wasn't human and they knew that should they run they wouldn't make it a step past the door, or at least not without being let there first.

The man walked up to the counter and licked his lips, oh it's been so long since he's spoken. He didn't even know how he sounded anymore. The person at the counter, seemingly oblivious to what was about to happen, came up and asked him what he wanted and rather cheerfully. As if she were trying to please a master that she wanted in other ways than what was said.

"Two orders of number five and something else for later" the man was surprised everything came out rather easily, it had been so long since he'd last spoken. It was strange hearing himself once more.

"Okay that will be $140, what was the other thing that you wanted?" She asked.

"It's not much of anything just wanted to share something really" the man said and the woman nodded and passed through the order before leaning over the counter seductively. The man also lent in and whispered to her in her ear.

"I want you to know about Order 66" the man said and the woman suddenly went still as stone. The man stepped back smiling and looked around. There were twenty five souls here to reap. Almost half the doubt needed until the next stage, and hopefully if this played out the way he wanted it to.

This city, the city holding his contract, should fall within the day, and his chains would break and he would be free to raze this world. Of course the other gods will get involved at that point, but he had a plan to continue his legacy. He wasn't going to win a battle against other gods, maybe he'll take down five before sustaining serious injury, but not as many as he thinks are going to appear.

The man stood by patiently as his victim's body shuddered several times, and then another man came by with a package with his order inside and placed it onto the counter before turning to the lady that'd been cursed.

"Hey Amy? Are you okay?" The guy asked putting a hand on her shoulder and that seemed to push her over the edge. There was a scream of bloody murder and then a waterfall of crimson as the lady's arms flashed out, now donned with three inch black claws. That had cut through the guy's throat like paper.

"One down, sixty-five more to go" the man said waking out the door he'd come in. The girl that was waiting for him was trying to peek inside but the man had blocked her view as he stepped outside.

"Hey wh-what's going on inside?" She asked and the man just smiled.

"Oh nothing" he said, "I guess you humans really like your parties don't you?" The man smiled and held out an empty hand.

"What?" The girl asked wondering why he wasn't holding out the food but a hand instead.

"Give me your arm" he said and the girl blinked in shock.

"Give you my what?" She finally asked but as she was going to ask more there was a crash from inside and an inhuman scream.

"Either give me your arm or you don't get to eat" the man said having gone to sit down on a bench that she'd never noticed outside of the entrance before. And he was digging into the bag enticingly before slowly pulling out a burger wrapped in foil with a kiss on the top.

"O-okay, fine" she said going over to him and sitting on the strangely comfortable bench and holding out her arm. "Why do you want my arm—" she was interrupted as the man suddenly bit into her flesh, tearing past her almost non-existent muscle and sinking right into her ulna.

The bone broke under the sudden pressure of the bite and the girl screamed in pain. Pulling her arm back and cradling the bleeding limb in her lap.

"Good, now eat" the man said, "and to distract you from the pain I'm going to ask you a few questions and then you can ask three of your own"

"You broke my arm!! What's more painful than this?!" She screamed trying to swat the sand which out of his hand but instead she subconsciously grabbed it instead and bit into the open side the man had un-covered.

"Good" the man said grinning as she scarfed down the entire burger. Now unaware of the carnage going on behind them. "Now to keep it fair you get asked three questions for three questions"

The girl was shocked, she wasn't even in control of herself. It was like something else took hold and made her eat the burger out of pure survival.

"First question. What is your name?" The man asked.

"Luna. Luna Freeborn" the girl said examining her now healed arm.

"Good. Second question." The man turned her head towards his own to look into her goldening eyes. Her body was changing faster than most, that's good. She's going to be a strong foe, wherever it is that she's going after this is over that is. "What happened you you before?"

"I-I was kidnapped from my home. I live in a rather rich family and I'm the only one in the family that cares about what goes on outside, so I guess someone took advantage of my evening strolls through the slums and took me. I woke up in the trunk the first time and the only things I heard was the car running and yelling from inside of the car. The second time there was guns firing and the car drove away pretty fast. Then came the time you ripped off the trunk and now we're here"

"Okay. That's a bit deeper than I thought was happening, but it doesn't really matter. Your worlds ending and I am sticking around to se it but you won't be here to"

"Why?" Luna asked and the man smiled.

"I am going to send you to another one of course. Wouldn't want my pup of destruction dying in me so soon now would I?" He rubbed her head and she felt something up there that shouldn't be there, but that didn't matter as much as what was current.

"Last question. What would you do if put into a life where all of this seemed like a dream?" The man looked at her grimly.

"I don't know. If such a thing existed then I guess I'd find out if there was a hidden secret behind the peace and if there was none then I would try to live life heroically. But there will never be a world like that, at least not on with those like humanity anyways."

"Huh good. I was right to think you will be a good replacement for me in a different world. You se I can send only one successor to a different world, and it can only be the opposite gender of which would be female. So you will replace my role in the universe you are sent to. I hope you live up to the name well." The man said.

"Well I don't even know what your name or what my purpose even is going to be" Luna growled. Wait since when did she growl?

"You have two questions left, think about how you want to use them. You have eighteen hours to decide after all." The man said leaning back against the bench. A body was thrown out of the window behind Luna and she looked back at it with hunger? Wait what? Why would the sight of a dead body make her hungry, and she just ate so why was she even still hungry?!"

"Okay" she said turning her attention back to the man. "I guess I'll ask the two questions I have. What's your name? And what have you done, or rather what are you doing to me?"

"It's nothing to worry about really" the man said catching another person coming out from the window and tossing them into the car ahead of the two. "I have only passed on my title as the Wolf of Destruction onto you, as you seemed to be the first and only female to not tremble before my power nor try to seduce me into bedding them. Though you were in a trunk the first time we met so I may be misjudging you.

As for my name, I guess you may know me as Fenrir, The Wolf of Destruction.
